Even if the cloud service it uses was running normally, Edge of Eternity is at best an OK game that fails to deliver on its explosive opening. The combat is fun but loses that fun when you’re overwhelmed with enemies in long, drawn-out battles. The open world is interesting but it’s simply way too large and empty for you to enjoy exploring. The story starts off great but fizzles out very quickly into a somewhat uninteresting, boring mess. It might be best to look somewhere else for a more enjoyable tactical game.

Moto Roader MC is a poor title. With little in the way of quality updates or polish, this game should’ve stayed a 30-year relic. Even at its budget price, I’d skip this sloppy update.

Badminton Time is a multiplayer party game that’s bland at best. There’s plenty of content to keep you busy, but it’s repetitive. The controls are confusing to boot, so you won’t spend much time on this one.

Emily Archer and the Curse of Tutankhamun could’ve been a solid game for genre fans, even with its age. But with so many bugs, there’s no way I can recommend this Switch version in its current state. It’s a weak port of a game best left on the Nintendo DS.

Serenity Forge has had a hand in bringing some of my favorite games to the Nintendo Switch. But Date Night Bowling feels like an unfinished proof of concept and failed to hold my interest. It’s a bush league release with much room for improvement. One could argue that it’s a better alternative than going to a real-life alley and running the risk of catching COVID. But given that choice, I think I’d rather skip bowling altogether.

By all means, download Angry Bunnies: Colossal Carrot Crusade for free. But after an hour or so, give or take, you’ll likely have had your fill. Even at its best, this was a subpar clone, and now (with paid DLC and microtransactions) it’s well past its shelf life.

Ikai is a first-person psychological horror game that isn’t so much scary as it is confounding. It wastes its effectively chilling setting by simply getting you lost in it. You’ll be annoyed more often than frightened, confused more often than entertained.

If Community Inc, sounds like work, it’s because it is. It felt like I was going from real-life work back to virtual work. I was initially very excited to be reviewing and playing Community Inc. Unfortunately, it falls victim to micromanagement with only a few feelings of surprise and accomplishment thrown in.

Given the difficulty of Blindy, it wasn’t the reason I disliked the game but more of its lack of entertainment. Blindy as a whole left players in the dark with no real fun to bring light to this platformer.

While there’s a relaxing tone to putting bikes together and I’m sure someone absolutely obsessed with motorcycles and motorcycle repairs could be intrigued by the title, Motorcycle Mechanic Simulator 2021 is such a broken, poorly optimized experience to find much fun in. I spent most of my time incredibly angry at the controls that constantly fought me and the ridiculous loading times to get into those controls. There are a lot of really great experiences to play on Nintendo Switch but Motorcycle Mechanic Simulator 2021 isn’t one of them.

It’s unfortunate that Theatre Tales was released in this unfinished state because it could be a fun, charming game for young players. In its current version, however, it’s a big disappointment…like buying a volume of classic fairy tales with the pages of all but one story glued shut.

Overall, Bus Fix 2019 is another poorly, rushed out game, that could use a rework. Bus Fix 2019 combines modern-day elements with terrible graphics, ultimately, into an inaccessible package–and respectively, it seems to be Ultimate Games latest cash grab effort, in addition to their numerous ones already on the Nintendo eShop.

Poker Club on Nintendo Switch does a good job at providing a truly immersive poker simulation. Unfortunately the entire package of Poker Club isn’t great. The incredibly poor AI will teach you nothing in offline mode and the overall slowness of all action makes for a boring experience. Playing online is even worse, as players can take an impossibly long amount of time on each turn. It’s just painfully slow enough that you’d likely be better off just playing poker in real life.

Reed Remastered doesn’t do much of anything to leave a positive impression. Platformers (even one-hit-kill ones like this) are a dime a dozen on the Nintendo Switch. I can say the story of Cubers Arena didn’t really do too much for me. From level to level, the grind of the game left a sour taste in my mouth to where I couldn’t help but wonder what’s the point? Maybe Ballers is happier without his freedom. While the local co-op is a plus, Cubers Arena didn’t have anything else going for it. Playing felt more like a chore than a game.

If you’re a hardcore fan of Deadliest Catch, you might—might—eke some enjoyment from the video game version’s lazy simulation of the tasks. However, you’d have a much better time just watching the show with a controller in your hand, and pretending. You might get a more responsive experience, too.

Listen; I know I shouldn’t expect much when spending $0.99 on a 3DS game, but I at least expect a full product. Squarcat feels like a group assignment in Beginners Programming, and two of the team members decided they’d rather get drunk and make Tik Tok videos than help their classmates. Give credit to the others for still turning the project in, but despite some okay puzzles, the poor physics, lack of audio, and heavy repetition earn Squarcat an incomplete.

Demolish & Build Classic takes you on a tour of the “exciting” world of construction contracting. The big problem is that the world of construction and contracting is more of a mundane job with a lot of hard work and very little excitement. Performance issues and a disheartening beginning lead to lots of work and little fun. But if you can get past that, you do get to drive bulldozers, cranes, and the like.

It’s a shame because, despite its flaws, I initially had fun with Cilla. The concept has potential, and the presentation (pixel art backgrounds and music) is pleasing. But the narrative focus demands good writing, and this game lacks it. The same goes for clever enemies, fun weapon variety, and two-player support. Coupled with frequent glitches, this is one alien invasion few will feel compelled to stop.

My time spent with Pooplers was disappointing as it wasn’t fun. I thought to myself several times when playing, “Who thought this was a good idea?” and “People are expected to play this and enjoy it?” I would not suggest this game to be played at your next gaming party or at all.

Whilst I can’t justify anyone purchasing this title, there was effort put in at least… The developer’s pride for an Advance Wars style game shined through, which I can appreciate. It has its issues whether it be a cluttered user interface, bad graphics, and similar environments, which can make it easy to overlook this title, and I can’t say you’d be missing much. If you are an Advance Wars fan, you might want to try looking elsewhere, that is, if you can’t overlook these points of concern (a good starting place might be Chucklefish’s latest hit – Wargroove).

The devs need to look at the level of quality or lack thereof. Just because a game can coast on mobile doesn’t mean it’s the right choice for the Switch. Despite its cheap price tag of US$5.OO, it remains hard to recommend due to its non-intuitive nature without a tutorial. I’d highly suggest that AskAnEnemyStudios considers adding a tutorial section if they want more people to take this game on Switch seriously. Personally, I don’t see the game being worth anyone’s hard-earned cash, especially for parents looking for a game to pick up for their child.

I said at the begging of the review I didn’t have high expectations; it’s a shame the game proved less fun than I expected. Unfortunately, I did not get very much entertainment out of it at all. It felt more like an educational game for young kids trying to put things in the right order. Sadly, even those can be more fun. However, fans of the YouTube channel may get some entertainment out of the game, but I cannot justify the $4.99 price tag for anyone. Fans should probably stick to the YouTube channel.
