Valkyrie Elysium has a very good combat system and a great soundtrack. However, its story is shallow, its campaign is short, and the graphics are bad.

Despite some flaws regarding progress and also enemy variation and AI, Prodeus is an excellent shooter inspired by the first FPS we had. Intense action, outstanding fun and delightful to play are the great qualities seen here.

A product of its time, Sam & Max Save the World is a remaster dedicated to fans of the series and point and click games, but in the current market, the audience might not be much bigger than that.

Voice of Cards: The Beasts of Burden is another great dose from the series, delivering its best gameplay and best story so far, with a game much more focused in its execution. OneShot: World Machine Edition offers all the best you can expect from a point-and-click adventure. There are creative and coherent puzzles with the gameplay system, and a captivating and, at times, surprising story. Added to all this is the curious way in which it plays with the game's own limits and even with a slip or another, it can become one of the favorite games of the genre for many people - myself included.

Watcher Chronicles isn't a groundbreaking game and doesn't focus on story or narrative, but the combat and its soulslike RPG characteristics are satisfying. The fun is guaranteed both playing alone and in multiplayer – a mode with coherent adaptations that make the game more dynamic to be played in pairs, despite the limitations for the second player.

FIFA 23 keeps the series tradition, with extremely fun gameplay, good improvements in comparison to last year, beautiful graphics and rich game modes that will keep you entertained for hours and hours. It may not the most accurate football simulator on the market, but it is so far ahead its competition that, if you are a soccer fan, this is the game for you.

Although it takes advantage of common mechanics and an almost protocol progression system, which can displease those looking for something different from what we've seen before, Hokko Life, without any shame in its references and inspirations, really stands out for its creation system and customization of items and mainly for the enchantment of its light and childish proposal.

Soulstice is a beautiful hack ‘n slash that falls short in areas such as world building, pacing, level design, and art direction. However, it establishes a shared combat and exploration system between two characters in one that, by itself, makes it surprising and challenging.

The Legend of Heroes: Trails From Zero is a very bad remaster of a very good game. While the story of the SSS and the journey through Crossbell must be played by any fan of the series and the gameplay holds up surprisingly well even today, the PS4 version leaves so much to be desired that it is only recommended for those who can't afford to play it on another platform.

Wayward Strand is one of the most sophisticated narrative-focused games of recent times and, in its simplicity, manages to be captivating and sensitive without appealing to any cheap sentimentality. It should not appeal to every type of player, but fans of the genre will find here an authentic experience, striking characters, and really meaningful choices.

While the action on the court is still fantastic and the new game modes are very entertaining and play with basketball fans' nostalgia, NBA 2K23 is brought down by its excessive microtransactions, which are the very definition of "pay-to-win".

The DioField Chronicle surpasses every expectation, delivering a great Strategy RPG thanks to its challenging real-time battle system and a rich setting that sustains a great story full of politics and good characters. The few issues are due to the simplistic progression system and the narrative that could be even better, but its a game that deserves the attention of fans of the genre.

Made In Abyss: Binary Star Falling Into Darkness is a game with good ideas, but poor execution and an awful adaptation of the source material. Both the gameplay and the story leave something to be desired and the only abyss that the game will inhabit being that of oblivion.

SD Gundam: Battle Alliance is a fun title that celebrates the franchise, delivering a solid and fun gameplay, specially in co-op, that manages to keep itself varied and engaging even after long hours of playtime. The shallow story and weak progression system limit its success, but it is a game that should appeal to long-time fans and serves as a good way to introduce younger players to the wonderful Mobile Suits.

Little Orpheus turns out to be an ordinary and mediocre product in every aspect of what it proposes, even if the bad timing of its release is disregarded. With simple mechanics and an uninspired level design, it's tedious, sometimes funny, but most of the time it's just really weak.

Inscryption is a card game that goes far beyond its initial premises, delivering narrative and gameplay twists on several occasions. It's a game that subverts all the player's expectations, renewing itself at each stage of its campaign. An easy-to-play roguelike, with complex mechanics and fun gameplay, as long as the randomness and restarts typical of the genre are tolerated. Inscryption is brilliant and you need to try it.

Failing to be consistent from start to finish and having gameplay issues from time to time, Midnight Fight Express is an action game with good combat totally removed from any possible logic and sanity.

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle R is a beautiful retelling of a great and little-known fighting game based on one of today's most beloved franchises. With beautiful graphics, satisfying mechanics and lots of content, the remaster lacks a limited, unstable and outdated online model, in addition to little (or no) narrative context for newcomers in this bizarre world.

Kaichu: The Kaiju Dating Sim is inventive in its proposal, but it turns out to be a better in paper. With functional but shallow mechanics, story, and visuals, the game has very little to offer other than curiosity about the topic and runs out of steam very quickly, before we even get attached to its friendly little monsters in love.

Circus Electrique is the kind of game that does so many different and unique things that they end up making up for some mistakes and missteps seen throughout it. Despite not figuring in any list of "best of the year", it deserves to be remembered among the good and unique titles of 2022.

Pac-Man World Re-Pac is a simple, short and easy platform game. Despite the new coat of paint on the graphics and animations, it's still the same PS1 game underneath. If your nostalgia for the title is high, it might be worth checking out. Otherwise, because of its low difficulty, it's a game recommended for children. The duration, however, will be short in any case.

With a minimalistic approach, taking you back to your childhood, Shin chan: Me and the Professor on Summer Vacation -The Endless Seven-Day Journey- is a unique title in our current market, bringing players an unusual and sweet combination.

Dusk Diver 2 isn't necessarily a bad title, but it's not a title to recommend either. The combat has competent mechanics, but its balance makes the player experience go from interesting to tedious in a few hours. It's a game that had big ambitions, but didn't have the polish to carry them out properly.

Although it doesn't bring as many new features as one might expect from a remake, The Last of Us Part I is an absolute and sublime spectacle from start to finish. It retains all the best qualities that made it aN absolute success in its original release and it improves on the technical details that add value to this visceral and impactful journey.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Cowabunga Collection is an example of nostalgia done right. It is packed with good games, with numerous improvements and new options to make the experience even more fun for both longtime fans and new players looking to experience the classics for the first time.

Madden NFL 23 does some things right and delivers a good experience on the field. However, it is marked by problematic game modes and a number of bugs and technical issues that playing it is frustrating and disappointing, even for the most passionate fan of the sport.

Like its predecessor, Destroy All Humans! 2: Reprobed may not be a technical masterpiece or offer a thematic approach that appeals to all audiences. However, it is visually refined, it has a humorous narrative and offers simple and responsive mechanics, resulting in a fun game.
