Visually, it's considerably worse [than the PS3 version], but quite decent for PS2 and retains the core gameplay. [Jan 2007, p.63]

Crap squadmate AI and a lack of advancement online. Got any other SOCOMs? Then don't bother. [Apr 2007, p.70]

It feels like a clone of "The Godfather," but nowhere near on the same level in terms of depth and enjoyment. [Jan 2007, p.81]

Games like this are what your PSP was made for. Hypnotic puzzle action that you'll play for ages. Just great. [Christmas 2006, p.94]

Don't do it. Unless you breathe Dave Mirra and have an irrational love of terrible games. You don't, right? [May 2007, p.79]

An outstanding RPG. It's unmistakably Final Fantasy, but feels as fresh as any adventure on PS2. [Christmas 2006, p.73]

The gameplay suits PSP brilliantly, and is much better than if they'd made an FPS. Just about essential. [Dec 2006, p.88]

A great driving game if you're new to the Need for Speed series, otherwise it's a bit same old, same old. [Christmas 2006, p.95]

While Vice City Stories is just as important a chapter in the GTA saga as any, it's another re-tread of the ageing GTA3 game engine. The missions feel familiar and so do the driving and the save system - they're all remnants of a six-year-old game, after all. Upstart "Scarface" feels fresher...But this is top-drawer entertainment. It's a fun game and the graphics are far from - ahem - wack, with impressive detail (especially the funfair on the pier), destructible scenery and progressive vehicle damage, all in solid, smooth 3D. [Jan 2007, p.83]

Low on strategy, devoid of inspiration, it's the same hack 'n' slashing that got more tired than man in full samurai battledress doing a marathon. [Feb 2007, p.78]
