Detroit: Become Human has some long-winded scenes and at times slightly boring gameplay, but it looks stunning, and excels with a dazzling amount of relevant and tense choices packed in a well-written story that frequently managed to move me.

FIFA 16 is the football simulation of the year and delivers a great complete package of football. You'll have to give it time though, to hone your skills and get better. If you don't, FIFA 16 can get slow, boring and even frustrating, but if you do, you're in for an exciting and deep football experience.

Yooka-Laylee at times feels more like a remake of Banjo-Kazooie than a completely new game, that's how much they are alike. But in this case it is only meant in a positive way. The world needs more games likes this, you know.

NieR: Automata is not for everybody. In fact, the game looks to be aimed at the most refined fans of the medium by not caring about the regular gaming conventions, in the same way the works of David Lynch are perfect for the hardcore moviegoers.

If you play Ori and the Will of the Wisps on a PC, then you have a fantastic successor to The Blind Forest. Xbox One owners are better off waiting for major updates.

Street Fighter 6 makes a serious effort to bring all those departing players back in - and I think it has what it takes to succeed. Online the game is more social, the story mode is great if you're not competitive and the modern controls make the game more accessible. This has what it takes to become the big EVO tournament sport again.

One of the best remakes ever gets the port it deserves with Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2 for the Switch. Gameplay is paramount with this handheld version, making it a great skating experience that is barely inferior to its bigger console brothers.

Rise of the Ronin isn't the dream entry into the realm of open world games that Team Ninja might have hoped for, but it delivers a very competent gaming experience. The open game world is completely dedicated to the blood-curdling combat, so there is more than enough to discover. Add to that Team Ninja's clear love for national history and you have a wonderful piece of entertainment that also immerses you in an interesting, historical setting.

Civilization: Beyond Earth may be a spin-off but one that can stand on its own. Things are more unpredictable but the gameplay is still very familiar. More important: Beyond Earth is more than just Civilization V in space.

Under the illusion of a relaxed island existence, this Animal Crossing gives you more to do, experience and build than ever before, all in a thoughtful, pleasant, time-and-time seductive way, making it the ultimate AC. An enrichment of my existence where I hope to spend many days, months and years.

The tension is not always extremely high and the story is missing the epic nature of The Last of Us, but if you're looking for an awesome single-player adventure for those long spring evenings, then Days Gone is the game for you.

It’s not easy to add something to a game as perfect as Bloodborne and The Old Hunters isn’t revolutionary or super original, but it definitely gives the hardcore fans exactly what they need.

Yes, Pokkén Tournament DX is essentially exactly the same game as the one on the Wii U that came out one and a half years ago. But the five new characters, the new modes and the mobility of the Switch make this a worthy port, not in the least because the fighting system is simply very cool.

Helldivers 2 is a spectacular, hugely entertaining, surprisingly tactical and brutal multiplayer game. Especially now that the server problems have largely been resolved, the game is practically indispensable for anyone who wants to have fun with three friends. Making progress in the battle passes feels a bit grindy, but because this is also the case for players who buy their in-game currency with real money, it continues to make fair progress for everyone. For Democracy, Liberty, and Freedom!

Do you like being tactically challenged and do you love farfetched, beautifully told fantasy stories? Immerse yourself in the world of Divinity 2: Original Sin 2, because this RPG is a gift that keeps on giving, if you are the kind of gamer that likes great characters and a deep battle system over gigantic battle royale experiences or an Active Touch System with Cristiano Ronaldo.

A Days Gone remaster wasn't really needed yet, but the result is generally impressive, especially on the PS5 Pro. And if this means that the door to a possible successor is ajar again, we can only applaud it.

While Crown of the Old Iron King is a small step backwards in comparison to the previous Dark Souls 2 DLC, it’s still superb. It’s not as dark or filled with poison as Crown of the Sunken King, but fire is the trade-off here. The enemies are not as tough as you're used to, but there are many of them. And it is truly a treat to walk in and around Brume Tower. Crown of the Old Iron King is a must-have for the great 3 to 6 hours you get.

Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker is a wonderful little game that proves that a limitation (in this case, Toad’s inability to jump) can be the cornerstone for some truly inspiring and creative ideas. Each of the seventy plus levels is a masterclass in level design and will invite you to find every little secret they hold. Our only regret is that there aren’t even more levels in this package, as even these seventy levels are over far too quickly.

Stellar Blade is a well-finished action game that has a lot to offer. There is extensive combat that tests both your thinking and reaction skills, spectacular graphics and performance, a fascinating story in a world with a lot of lore and, in addition to the more serious moments, also a good dose of fun with collectibles and side missions. It may not be for everyone due to the over-the-top fanservice, lifeless NPCs, and character and boss reskins that are quite unnecessary. If this doesn't really matter to you and you're looking for challenge, splendor and splendor, then you've come to the right place.

After the heart-wrenching The Walking Dead and the dark murder mysteries of The Wolf Among Us, Tales From The Borderlands: Episode 1 feels like a delightful change of pace. The hard choices are still there, but the action scenes are a lot funnier and the comedic dialogue is being kept at just the right balance. A fine start for Telltale’s newest series.

Sunbreak is an absolute must-have for Monster Hunter junkies. The world of Elgado is full of new areas and adds seventeen monsters to the game. A disappointment is that there are only four really brand new monsters, but at the same time it is very cool to see monsters from older games. The new Switch Skill Swap mechanics and the weapons and gear that continue to evolve keep Sunbreak more than interesting even after completing the story.

Dead Island 2 improves on its illustrious predecessors in almost every way, while retaining strong points such as atmosphere, setting and gameplay loop. The fact that the game sees the light in this state after almost ten years of trouble-ridden pregnancy is only inferior in wonder to the Immaculate Conception of the Virgin Mary.
