Discovering the secrets of the Freedom Town cult, who has power and influence where, as well as the inner workings of the leadership are the best parts of The Church In The Darkness. That combines with excellent stealth gameplay, a dynamic and engaging scenario-based narrative, and some excellent characters with great voice acting to create a memorable and unique experience. An experience that is only held back by a few technical issues and some missing quality of life features.- PlayStation Universe

Amnesia: Rebirth may not have the wow factor of modern AAA visuals, but it offers so much in its direction, effects and sound that it has an unbelievably immersive draw. What it lacks in raw gameplay mechanics it makes up for with a consistently engaging series of scenes, puzzles and set pieces. Amnesia: Rebirth is a terrifying cosmic thriller that is accessible enough for all types of players, but certainly should be a welcome addition in the library of any Horror fan.- PlayStation Universe

The fellow at Sony have created a unique experience in Puppeteer that's deserving of a franchise label. With a little work, the heroic antics of Kutaro and his Excalibur scissors Calibrus can make this cult-following title into a sequel-worthy one.- PlayStation Universe

Journey To The Savage Planet is a fun, arcadey ride with its comedic characters, cartoony art style and unique blend of game genres. Secrets and secondary objectives galore, creative creature design, and a rewarding gameplay loop only add to that ride. Although the co-op disappoints, you shouldn't overlook Typhoon Studios' great first game.- PlayStation Universe

While Project DIVA Future Tone is a welcome addition to the PlayStation family, it most certainly doesn’t hold your hand when trying to master every song. Hitting that last note and realising you’ve got yourself a perfect or even scraping a pass is the most satisfying feeling ever.- PlayStation Universe

Assassin's Creed Shadows is almost the best game across the long-running franchise, as a beautiful game to look at the whole way through, with strong central characters, solid improvements to exploration and perhaps the best combat and stealth gameplay we've seen from the series yet. Its strengths, however, make it all the more upsetting that the poor progression system and elements of bloat still drag the experience down. Still, it's very close to being the best game we've seen in the series yet, and a true sign that Ubisoft is on the right path to elevating the franchise beyond its original peaks.- PlayStation Universe

The PSVR is lacking a shooter that defines the genre in virtual reality but Killing Floor Incursion is a step in the right direction. With a campaign and a horde mode, the game has something for every wanna be zombie (Zed), hunter.- PlayStation Universe

An avalanche of racing goodness, hokey social media anchoring and an oddly sparse open world aren't enough to prevent The Crew 2 from improving on the original in every way and providing a multi-disciplined racer that is quite unlike any other on PS4.- PlayStation Universe

With its comical vibe and challenging levels, Shiftlings is a must for everyone who likes a descent puzzle platformer every now and then. The controls can be mighty frustrating at times, but playing the game in co-op is boatloads of fun and this alone makes Shiftlings worth its price.- PlayStation Universe

Red Barrels' Outlast is a solid indie title, which provides tension and scares in equal abundance. And while it lacks the sort of story depth a lot of us have become accustomed to, there is still a plethora of terrifying fun to be had. Get it on PlayStation Plus as soon as you can.- PlayStation Universe

A great psychological story set inside a creepy mansion. It may not be perfect but Remothered: Tormented Fathers does just enough to keep your interest up until the very end.- PlayStation Universe

The running game is traditional, and NFL enthusiasts will dig into the experience with a gridiron fist. The common issues with past Madden games still linger, but the pros are beginning to outweigh the cons for the first time in a while.- PlayStation Universe

Phoenix Point manages to blend the very numbers-based approach of classic X-Com with some of modern XCOM’s streamlining. The result is a colossal, cavernous tactical strategy game that struggles to hold its shape at times. Its wealth of information and systems requires patience, but if you can persevere, it’s very much worth the time.- PlayStation Universe

The Escapists is a neat throwback to U.K. gaming’s formative years in terms of the gameplay structure and silly humour. It may well be a daunting and often frustrating prospect for those less familiar with that era, but there is scope for many hours of joy for anyone who is.- PlayStation Universe

Bubsy 4D has the makings of a modern classic, helmed by a team that has a clear ambition and design philosophy. It’s issues are more fundamental, and in the fabric of Bubsy himself. I can take self-deprecation, but there comes a point where it stops being funny and becomes borderline pathetic. A mismatched level approach to level design means that both feel weak in spots, and I think you could have done more to bring those together. This is the best Bubsy game, but I can’t say it isn’t without fault.- PlayStation Universe

Though the world of the original S.T.A.L.K.E.R games have been essentially frozen in time (something that GSC Game World affectionately alludes to in the text preamble which appears before each game begins), there's still a lot of fun to be had here. Sure, the mission design is basic, the visuals have aged and there is much jank to be found, but equally the survival gameplay is compelling and the story which masterfully bridges itself across three games proves to be just as inviting in what is a definitive collection of the original S.T.A.L.K.E.R games on console.- PlayStation Universe

to a T has one of the most earnest cores of any game that I think I've ever played. It's positive, it's cozy and does a damn good job in trying to situate us in the position of a disabled person without revelling in the misery of its own characters. At the same time, I feel like to a T maybe goes a bit too far into the weird and whacky to be a truly grounded exploration of the subject matter. Which is sad, because I really did enjoy myself for the most part.- PlayStation Universe

Cthulhu: The Cosmic Abyss does ample justice to its grim source material, fashioning a compelling investigative adventure which generously drips with atmosphere but one which is sadly somewhat undercut by a wealth of technical issues that take the sheen otherwise what is a highly enjoyable Lovecraftian romp.- PlayStation Universe

While an extremely guided and structured experience, Dragon Quest Builders 2 maintains enough of the charm of the franchise to be worth a look for fans. Players accustomed to free-play modes in other building sims will chafe at the story mode, but patient players that don’t mind a simple battle system and chatty NPCs will still find plenty of content here to enjoy.- PlayStation Universe
