A breezy and relaxing puzzle game hidden within the veneer of a city builder which just happens to be highly addictive and rewarding despite the lack of visible Islanders. Easy to pick up and hard to put down, Islanders will appeal to anyone who enjoys meditative gaming.

Not so much a true next-gen leap for MLB, but a cautious set of baby steps towards it. The presentation and gameplay remain strong, and the ability to be a two-way player in Road to the Show has freshened that mode up and made it more enjoyable than ever. MLB The Show 21 is another reliable entry in a strong sporting franchise, but it definitely needs a bit of a shakeup next time out.

Homefront, with its gripping premise and well-orchestrated battles, is all about ambiance and emotion. This is a great starting point for a new series, and if Kaos Studios can fix some of the minor issues, Homefront could potentially topple its well-established competition.

Gun Club VR is exactly what it sets out to be - a game where you shoot real world guns on the world's most elaborate range. It turns out that all by itself, this is really fun. A bit of strange UI and glitchiness aside, Gun Club VR is well worth a look - both for gun enthusiasts and gamers that enjoy well made products.

Despite some frustrating design choices, pacing and technical issues, there is a prevailing magnetic chemistry to Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden that is felt within its narrative and mirrored in its gameplay, in large part thanks to its two brilliantly written and acted protagonists. Its thoughtful dissection and unique exploration of grief ultimately resonated with me in a way that allowed me to forgive most of its other sins.

New Super Lucky's Tale is a fun and entertaining platformer that takes you to varied words and changes some of its gameplay mechanics to keep things fresh. New Super Lucky's Tale is a bit on the short side and It's not the most innovative platformer, but it has a lot of heart and soul that kept me entertained from start to finish.

Beautiful, bold and a lot of fun. RAD is a great game and a great roguelike. There is a lot of variety and every run is truly unique. There are some good persistent upgrade features that make every run feel like you're edging towards eventual victory. You could play this game for a very long time until you see everything and I really want to see everything. If you like roguelikes or a great deal of variation in your gameplay, you'll not be disappointed spending your cash on this quirky title.

Cave Digger 2: Dig Harder is a tremendously fun, roguelike adventure with a hugely compelling neo-western, dieselpunk aesthetic that is best played with friends, so long as you can ignore the current choice selection of glitches and repetitive nature of its core gameplay loop. If you've ever wanted to play a SteamWorld Dig game in VR, this is currently the closest you'll get to it.

Imperfections aside, Wasteland 2 is a compelling, bleak and darkly hilarious post-apocalyptic RPG that adds something a little different for the PS4's roster.

A fantastic simulation of Superbike road racing wrapped up with some delicious audio/visuals which perfectly encapsulates the relentless speed and terror of the Isle of Man TT. A wholesale improvement on the first game and well worth investing the time it takes to get to grips with the challenging handling.

An occasionally rough but always entertaining open world actioner that puts players in control of one of nature's greatest predators, Maneater is the over the top, human chomping odyssey that many of us never knew that we wanted. Until now.

Bound is a vague but undeniably powerful game. Its sweeping environments and spellbinding aesthetic invite you to look closer, appreciate its story, and find meaning through your own interpretation. The gameplay beneath is pleasant (if unremarkable) and dutifully supports the greater aim of giving the player something to reflect on.

A wonderfully fresh take on the apocalypse with some stunning pixel-art visuals and pixel-perfect platforming, a handful of bugs and glitches occasionally infuriate but aren’t enough to significantly compromise what is an otherwise tremendously enjoyable experience.
