Déraciné has an interesting approach that only FromSoftware can deliver. At the same time, enough stands in the way of the overall package that diminishes what the game could have been. Fans of FromSoftware storytelling will find something interesting here, but others will dislike the pacing and execution.- PlayStation Universe

BIT.TRIP RERUNNER is a polarising game that manages to mix some of the most heartening extra features that I've seen in a remake collection with some of the most frustrating gameplay that I've experienced in a rhythm platformer. I can absolutely see the foundations of a solid rhythm platformer here, but I feel like in being so rooted in tradition, this remake loses the potential to bring new people in. While I could see myself getting used to the heavy physics and visual language of RERUNNER, the unfortunate lack of visual variety in this package means that I found myself growing relatively tired before I reached the end. The level editor is a wonderful addition that suffers from this as well. Despite this, I left RERUNNER feeling generally impressed with the care that's been put in, but this is one for the fans.- PlayStation Universe

Rainbow Six Extraction includes some interesting mechanics and a core gameplay loop that you can find fun in. However for all the positive aspects, the big issue is how quickly it falls apart into a grindy, frustrating mess while trying to play solo.- PlayStation Universe

There's promise to City of Brass that sadly doesn't quite come to fruition. For a roguelike, it commits the ultimate sin in having no compelling hook to keep going for multiple playthroughs. It throws up some fresh and interesting ideas though, and that makes it worth at least a cursory look.- PlayStation Universe

House Flipper 2 is a wonderful house-management game that deserves a far better console port than the one it got. Based purely on the content of the game itself, impressive sandbox offerings and relaxing gameplay come together to make an umatched experience on those merits. Despite this praise, House Flipper 2 has been saddled with an archaic control scheme that results in what was meant to be a relaxing alternative to busywork, became far too finicky and irritating in places that my relaxation was significantly dented. While it certainly is playable, it isn't how I would recommend the game to interested players without some incredible patience.- PlayStation Universe

Continuing to be one of the most intriguing narrative adventure series you can buy right now, Ripples furthers the narrative in a variety of interesting ways but nonetheless shows that The Council is in dire need of some fresh locales with which to embrace.- PlayStation Universe

My feelings on Teslagrad 2 are simply disappointment. It’s a fairly solid Metroidvania with some frustrating moments and a vagueness that rubbed me the wrong way at times. It’s undeniably beautiful to watch in action, and that helps carry it across the line.- PlayStation Universe

A Fisherman’s Tale tells a charming story with surprising depth that is unfortunately marred by technical issues. Within its brief playtime, the game’s story packs in enough thought provoking content that I found myself thinking about it for days after playing. Though I’m not recommending A Fisherman’s Tale, I wouldn’t blame you if you decided to play it anyhow.- PlayStation Universe

An entertaining if ultimately shallow instalment in the Until Dawn series, being the most visually stunning PSVR title to date isn't quite enough for The Inpatient to overcome its sluggish pace and reductive game design.- PlayStation Universe

Just Die Already takes the outrageous nature of Goat Simulator and brings it to a completely new concepts and premise. But, while the experience is fun and a laugh, it is fairly shallow and physics don't hold up to other games in the genre. A funny time, but definitely nothing to go running to tell your grandparents about.- PlayStation Universe

Startenders begins its life on the PSVR 2 with unfortunate technical issues. Those aside, this is still a job simulator game. It's done well enough when it works, but the game loop doesn't offer much else. It has an attractive price point for what it is, but wait for a patch before jumping in.- PlayStation Universe

Redeemer's combat is world class; revealing itself to be both hugely satisfying and wonderfully tactile. It's just a shame that there isn't enough game built around it and that the game which is there, appears so very unambitious. Nonetheless, Redeemer is more than capable of providing a barrage of violent thrills for a good few hours all the same.- PlayStation Universe

The Deer God is a solid statement against animal cruelty and even sport hunting, exploring an empathetic view from the eyes of a deer. While it features solid, simplistic gameplay, frequent hiccups and balance issues keep this from being a game worthy of the title’s undertaking.- PlayStation Universe

The Escapists: The Walking Dead valiantly tries to subvert the established formula of the original version of The Escapists, but ends up a slightly confused love letter to Robert Kirkman’s post-apocalyptic comic book series instead. There's still plenty to enjoy for Walking Dead fans, if not necessarily much for those that liked The Escapists.- PlayStation Universe

A nicely designed Steampunk action adventure underpinned by an intriguing story line, Smoke and Sacrifice is hampered by repetitive world design, an excess of unnecessary crafting and a fighting mechanic which just isn't as much fun as it should be.- PlayStation Universe

Munchkin: Quacked quest is certainly a colorful and charming dungeon crawler. Sadly, uninspiring hack and slash fundamentals and a lack of variety conspire to drag down what is otherwise a fairly charming and occasionally enjoyable offering that is best enjoyed with friends.- PlayStation Universe

For what it is, Tales of The Shire puts together a cozy game that almost requires you to play a certain way to enjoy it. At the same time, the game makes it known what it wants from you from the very beginning. There's charm here to be had with the right mindset. However, putting all of this together makes for a rather fixed and repetitive experience. For what it's worth, Tales of The Shire stands as a solid formula for people who don't often play these types of games. It replaces coordination and planning with hard work. By the time you're done with this game, you'll be ready to try some of the more renowned titles the genre has to offer.- PlayStation Universe

Crysis Remastered is still the same game you remember, but for the most part, this remaster doesn't sufficiently improve the game's visuals enough. The lighting can look good, but dated textures and gameplay, poor AI, and a number of bugs and glitches hold this remaster back. Crysis Remastered is only worth checking out if you haven't experienced the game yet.- PlayStation Universe

The initial setup for Impact Winter's frozen post-apocalyptic world is effectively haunting and grim. The trick does get repeated a little too often though, and the bleak situation you were previously invested in becomes too much of a chore and less about humanity struggling against nature.- PlayStation Universe

The Medium shines when it’s letting you soak in its beautifully crafted dual worlds and melancholic soundtrack, but early promise of a quietly effective ghost story unravels as the story staggers clumsily to a point where it becomes almost unbearable in its attempt to tackle a tough subject.- PlayStation Universe

A new series with loads of potential. It is hampered by a horrendous loading time and major content locked away online. If you can handle these two problems then the game is a lot of fun, and will have you grinding away for days to make your super merc squad.- PlayStation Universe

It's a shame that Blue Reflection: Second Light couldn't live up to the expectations it set for itself. Though the story and characters development is good, the game is held back by overly complicated combat mechanics that seem to make encounters harder and longer when they didn't need to be. With the franchise now two games deep, I have to wonder if a third entry will ever get the light of day and if so, will GUST Studios finally be able to get the formula right.- PlayStation Universe

Maglam Lord combines a handful of genres into one package, and does it well enough to make it at least fun. However, it's the kind of fun that comes from mindlessly consuming something with little resistance. Maglam Lord works well as an in-between game, but it cannot hold up against other titles that specialize in the genres that this game combines.- PlayStation Universe

The foundation for an excellent entry to the Madden series is here. EA & Tiburon just need to patch up some glaring game breaking bugs. As it stands, Franchise Mode is practically unplayable and for me that is the essential component of Madden. Fans of Face of the Franchise, The Yard and Madden Ultimate Team may find some enjoyment, but it doesn't last long. Under the assumption that the issues get fixed in upcoming patches, Madden NFL 23 has potential to be the best entry in recent memory.- PlayStation Universe

Demoniaca has several great ideas and cool concepts. Unfortunately, too many of these ideas don't reach the refinement needed to work as well as it needs to. Cool boss fights and aesthetics carry the day, but clunkiness between bosses keep it from getting close to its potential. Demoniaca has its charms, but it won't replace any staples in the Metroidvania genre.- PlayStation Universe
