BlazBlue: Central Fiction is not just the end of the BlazBlue series; it’s a worthy climax to a quadrilogy that has been consistently excellent. It allies top notch fighting with a mass of content both online and offline. Superb netcode makes it easy to score some internet points, or just get some matches in with your pals and, if you’re lucky enough to have someone to sit on the couch next to you, expect there to be plenty of laughter and crowing while you battle for bragging rights.- PlayStation Country

Super Cloudbuilt is a fantastic remaster of the unsung 2014 original. It not only brings the blistering pace and gorgeous visual aesthetic to the consoles for the first time, but ends up being reinvigorated with the addition of more challenges and levels to sink your teeth into. If you missed Cloudbuilt the first time round and love high speed platforming then you can do no wrong.- PlayStation Country

Jets'n'Guns 2 takes its cues from the Amiga-era 'Euro Shmup' sub-genre but adds a ton of excitement, tactical options and fun to it. It's up there as one of the best shoot 'em ups available on PSN today.- PlayStation Country

NetherRealm hasn’t just created a neat superhero themed brawler; it has changed the game entirely. The story mode puts all fighting game narratives to shame and offers an excellent taste of the game for newcomers. Injustice 2 is a feature rich fighting game that goes above and beyond expectations in terms of gameplay, graphics and its respect for the source material. Competitors should take note; a new king has entered the ring.- PlayStation Country

The Making of Karateka is a phenomenal, detailed walkthrough of the classic game's development. I did wonder whether there would be enough material to make it worthwhile but I was completely absorbed. The chats between father and son are genuinely heart-warming. Karateka Remastered is a fascinating update that looks to enhance the original rather than overhaul. The result is something faithful and fluid. I thoroughly enjoyed checking out the prototypes, correspondence and everything in between. A new gold standard for game preservation and celebration has been set.- PlayStation Country

From the hyperkinetic pop soundtrack to the breakneck gameplay speed, Sayonara Wild Hearts is one hell of a rollercoaster ride. The undeniable visual flare, immense style and uncompromising frame rate hides a clear message underneath it all that many can relate to. Wild Hearts never die and Sayonara Wild Hearts should stand for years to come as a shining example of how to bring music alive into the gaming medium. It’s nothing short of fantastic.- PlayStation Country

Star Wars Outlaws is the open world Star Wars game we didn’t know we needed. Yes, the music is a little lukewarm and the combat isn’t massively overcomplicated, but nor does it need to be. There is no match for a good blaster as is aptly demonstrated here, neither do you need fancy laser swords twirling around. The stealth elements are fun with takedowns being a nice silent way to infiltrate places you shouldn’t be in. Given this is in effect, a game by massive committee, it is remarkable that it’s as good as it is. The fanservice is light and not massively in your face, but we’d not begrudge it if a bit more showed up, even if just as a musical cue.- PlayStation Country

Very few titles can boast about being as honest or literal as A Short Hike, a game where you do just that. This charming title from Canadian designer Adam Robinson-Yu may not last long, However the pleasure of exploration and discovery is strong in this one. This is one of the best palate cleansers going and a great example of a game where the journey is more fulfilling than racing to the credits.- PlayStation Country

Songbird Symphony is a sickeningly sweet platformer with tons of personality, fun and music. Joysteak Studios have done an amazing job of creating such a unique blend of platforming and rhythm action that will surely have players coming back for more after the credits roll.- PlayStation Country

Slay the Spire is a very difficult but hugely rewarding roguelike built around deck building and card battling. Each failure is a learning experience and the desire to succeed will keep you playing for potentially hundreds of hours.- PlayStation Country

Giant Squid starts the new generation strong with The Pathless. A short, sweet, and simple adventure that marries contemplative exploration, with uniquely satisfying movement mechanics that function in both a visually stunning open world and the setpiece boss encounters. While the experience may be too easy for some, this game is worthy of attention in the crowded launch line up. Not only as a great title, but a shining example of what indie developers can bring to next generation gaming.- PlayStation Country

Resident Evil Village is another fantastic game in the franchise. It leans towards action, rather than slow paced horror this time but also adds a large helping of exploration for those that want to see everything. Ethan isn't great but his opponents are very colourful and keep you interested in moving forward. Add the replayability of harder difficulties, New Game+ and Mercenaries mode and it's a game PS5 owners should not ignore.- PlayStation Country

If you're a fan of platformers that require skill and precision and want to test yourself against others then Speedrunners is the game for you, whether it's over the internet or on the same television. If you're strictly single player then you probably won't get much out of it however.- PlayStation Country

Nearly a decade later, The Last Of Us remains the absolute gold standard for storytelling in video games. While some may question the need for an outright remake, this is an absolutely essential experience for newcomers and one that more than warrants a look from returning players.- PlayStation Country

Overall, Tekken 8 is an impressive product. There's a variety of content here to keep players satisfied. I would've liked more new characters but two of them at least offer something different. The story delivers plenty of bombast and manages to tie up some loose ends whilst Arcade Quest tries to romanticise the arcade community in an endearing way. Online play has been very smooth and the fighting overall has been fun and kinetic. It also think the teaching tools are great for getting newcomers onboard.- PlayStation Country

Cosmic Star Heroine is a great game that succeeds in its goal of providing an old school JRPG experience on pretty much every level. The battle system is an interesting and enjoyable one and the ability to save anywhere and retry instantly from deaths is very welcome. I can’t recommend it enough.- PlayStation Country

Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes is a unique and fundamentally excellent party game. It is a rare example of a game in which failure can be as much fun as success. If you have friends over regularly or have people over party chat that don’t mind reading a manual then there are few cooperative experiences that can beat it.- PlayStation Country

MARVEL Cosmic Invasion is a love letter to the great comic-based beat 'em ups of the '90s but, very importantly, surpasses all of them. Which it absolutely should given we're in the 2025 but it's nice to see them do it nonetheless.- PlayStation Country

Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun has made the leap from PC to PS4 and has not only survived the fall but killed a guard on the way down. The controls take a little getting used to but the characters, level design and strategy-stealth gameplay will reward you plenty for putting in the effort.- PlayStation Country

As someone coming back to the game eighteen months after release I have to say, if A Walk in the Park made me look back on The Surge fondly, then The Good, The Bad And The Augmented reminded me of the less appealing aspects of the base game.- PlayStation Country
