Misses the point completely. It tries too much to be semi-believable, when it should be completely unbelievable. The result: a bad Burnout-clone. [Nov 2010]

A beat 'em up that is both pretty and a lot of fun with interesting music-related gameplay ideas. The controls are a bit too complicated for a beat 'em up, though. And where has the 4-player game gone? [Mar 2007]

Mad Max used its imagery well, and as a sandbox game, it's thematically pretty coherent. I actually liked this more than GTA V: driving around is more exiting, and Batman-style fist fighting is more fun than Gears of GTA -cover shootouts. [Oct 2015]

Fun to play and easy to look at, but the gameplay is ultimately a bit too straightforward and shallow. It is borderline outrageous that the single-player campaign lasts only for 5 hours. [Apr 2006]

A highly entertaining dinosaur killing game that suffers from witless human enemies and a sparse checkpoint system. The few interior parts are horribly ugly and boring, but luckily most of the game happens outside in lush rainforests. [Feb 2008]

Bows deeply to the classics like Monkey Island or Maniac Mansion but more importantly it still has a good, unique feel to it. Although Mr. Keane's adventure is an old-fashioned point'n click adventure the fresh environments, tricky puzzles and witty humour make it a great adventure game. It's not the best this genre has to offer, but it's a nice try. Thumbs up for Deck13. [Apr 2008]

After the multiplayer was dropped and the visuals toned down the Wii controls were the most interesting thing in the game. The controls do work but are not spectacular. [Jan 2007]

Pocket-sized Diablo is by far the best multiplayer game on 3DS. You can't do little Diablo any better than this. The watered-down difficulty level and few control related issues, like inventory, are the biggest downsides of the game. Other than that, Heroes of the Ruin is a fair example, that a PC-exclusive can be ported on the little device as well. [Sept 2012]

There are some nice, although half-baked ideas, but overall the game is boring and mediocre, and has many design flaws. And it does not even look that good. [July 05]

Conan is at its best visceral and furious fun with limbs and heads flying. Unfortunately, the adrenaline level drops when the speed slows down on harder adversaries and when the enemies do not have limbs to detach or heads to pop. Also, boss fights tend to follow the same pattern too much. Still, it is worth the time and effort. Experimenting with different moves never gets old. [Oct 2007]

Unfortunately, Exigo comes from the big book of fantasy strategy clichés and does not bring anything new to the genre.Still, it is a well done real-time strategy and definitely worth its price. [Jan. 05]

Shelter is a bit short and a bit too easy, but it's also beautiful, touching and unique. Also, it's a game about badgers, how could you not like it? I would love to see an expanded sequel, even if it would just be more of the same. [Oct 2013]

A nice change of pace from the normal fast-paced action games of late. Observing the environment and enemies before making the right choices is good fun, even if the clumsy interface and slow-moving character try to mess the experience up. Not everyone's cup of tea, but fans of Hitman should be right at home here. [Nov 2007]

A technically competent city builder that lacks any kind of real depth of gameplay mechanics. There's not much left of a city builder when it's missing many crucial components like a public transport network and infrastructure design. [Jan 2010]

Home offers an intriguing concept, but doesn't quite pull it off. The story isn't very satisfying and the choices game forces you to make rarely have meaningful consequences. It's an okay little horror experience, but it could've been much, much more. [Aug 2012]

A life simulation that relates more to Animal Crossing and Harvest Moon series than to other Sims. A good basis which is sadly spoilt by too little variety in possible activities while making your town grow and prosper. You mostly get to built new houses and furniture on demand which becomes boring in a few days time. You would not expect such horridly long and frequent loading times and occasional jerkiness in gameplay either. [Nov 2007]

Has moments of greatness but is ultimately a disappointment. Most of the problems can be attributed to incompleteness: there are some serious scripting issues, the game crashes regularly and the vehicle AI is laughable. When everything works, the game is quite enjoyable. [Dec 2006]

Blackguards was a nice surprise: gaming system is solid and interesting, and the puzzle-like battles hold interest until the end. At times they are even challenging. Although patches might have changed that. [Feb 2014]
