    Viewfinder is a great indie game that doesn't quite know where it's going with the narrative, though. The basic puzzle premise is ingenious and doesn't wear out over the short playtime. Solution approaches are repeated, which diminishes the puzzle's fun a bit. The game was often compared to Portal in the run-up and the gameplay is very close to Valve's puzzle hit. We hope that Viewfinder will take the same step as Portal and follow up a very short but fun first part with a really great sequel that could revolutionize the world of puzzle games.

    This story-driven combo-slasher is with approximately 5 hours very short, including cut-scenes, which take up more than 2 hours and tend to interrupt gameplay constantly. Combo mechanics are satisfying, the story is not worth mentioning. Lots of senseless violence, the game takes itself way too serious. Merely a port from consoles, mouse controls are awful and the graphics do not meet modern standards.

    The Plucky Squire is a short but charming Zelda-like filled to the brim with ideas and creative twists. Had we not gotten stuck on multiple occasions due to bugs, with the final time costing us our playthrough, we'd recommend it wholeheartedly.

    Chivalry 2 successfully captures the chaos and brutality of big medieval battles, and manages to spice up the bloodbath with some much needed humor through its whacky sandbox-elements and absurd war-cries. The fantastic-feeling combat-system is in a league of its own, especially on console. However, the game lacks the necessary variety of maps and modes to offer a long-term experience that goes beyond chaotic, somewhat mindless action. Eight maps and three modes, all of which quickly turn into chaotic mayhem, is all you´re getting at the moment, diabolically fun as it may be for a few hours. The gameplay foundation is excellent, but Torn Banner Studios needs to quickly add maps, modes, and enticing goals for players to really sink their teeth into, otherwise Chivalry 2 might quickly fade into obscurity.

    Despite the limitations in terms of content, the developers were overwhelmed by the countless actions you can perform. Bugs interfere on a regular basis and there´s nothing you can get from exploring the rather interesting open-world. What saves the title and makes him, despite the flaws, worthwhile for HTC-Vive-owners is the immersive feeling of the game, at least when you’re not being interrupted by one of the third-person-cutscenes.

    The bottom line is that Assassin's Creed Shadows is not a bad game, but unfortunately it is not really outstanding either. I had more fun with Naoe and Yaskue in feudal Japan than I had with Eivor in England back then. But it doesn't come close to Kassandra's adventure in Greece, for example. The design weaknesses mentioned are too obvious for that. Here, the game unfortunately wastes a lot of potential. And yet I will keep my adventure in Shadows in good memory.

    Life is Strange: True Colors is the newest addition to the Life is Strange universe. This time, the special power of main character Alex is her talent to sense the emotions of others. The presentation is quite charming, the characters are well-written and the story is exciting, if not predictable.     Wasteland 2 invokes the spirit of its predecessor as well as the old Fallout games, yet it probably won’t have the same impact. Poor AI, bugs and annoying waiting times while using skills require a lot of patience from players. Still, there are many wondrous sights to see and interesting people to meet. In terms of atmosphere, dialogue and quest design, Wasteland 2 truly shines. Too bad there is so much grime to wipe away first.

    For a game about rallyes, there isn’t a lot of this in Art of Rally. Driving around is fun for an hour or so, but after that, you have more or less seen everything of interest that there is. Stilistically, the game is a success, but it is too easy, the story is weird (but not in a good way) and repetition takes away a lot of the fun one could have.

    Windjammers 2 is really good for what it is. If, like me, you can have fun with such small titles and don't always expect so much, you've come to the right place. There's no fuss or waiting around to get into a match. It only takes a few seconds from the start of the game to the first round. Despite this apparent simplicity, the gameplay convinces with enough depth. The nice optics including catchy character designs and the appropriate music are also to be positively emphasized. But what speaks most for Windjammers is their uniqueness. You don't see a sports game that goes in the direction of a fighting game and primarily relies on throwing Frisbees every day. I'm just hoping for a lot more content in the future.

    Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 has so much potential: A very varied and exciting campaign, great gunplay and overall with story, multiplayer and soon Warzone 2.0 so much to offer. But unfortunately the multiplayer, the main part of the shooter, has a lot of bugs, technical issues and missing content. It’s still fun to play, but the release of the game came some weeks too early.

    From Software's newest game is a surprisingly kick-ass experiment that suffers greatly from balancing issues. Nightreign delivers a brutally hard team-building exercise full of breakneck action that plays fabulously. Unfortunately, it fails to duly reward you for your efforts - be it with worthwhile permanent upgrades or final bosses where your hard-earned builds actually make a difference. It’s far from unfixable, but you should probably wait for a balancing patch or two.

    Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty is a really fun game, but it just squanders its potential at every turn. Things like lack of enemy variety and boring loot don't exactly help the title stand out from the crowd. Fans of the team ninja combat familiar from the Nioh series will definitely enjoy Wo Long, but at least for the PC version, you should wait until the developers get a grip on the numerous performance problems.

    Overall, Expeditions: A Mudrunner Game feels like a slight step backwards compared to its predecessor. Fewer areas, half as many vehicles, the loss of the experience system, but an overabundance of the same old tasks spoil the experience. Nevertheless, the challenging gameplay is still a lot of fun. Digging through mud, laboriously pulling ourselves up mountainsides and freeing ourselves from seemingly hopeless situations creates a wonderfully satisfying feeling. Those who already found this aspect the most important in the predecessors will also get their money's worth with Expeditions.

    The development team did a good job in transferring the typical Homeworld-feeling and gameplay from Space onto a planet’s surface. The campaign is designed pretty well and is entertaining, combined with a fantastic soundtrack and nice effects. Unfortunately the AI isn’t acting as clever as it should be. Skirmish and multiplayer, though disappointing, offer little content and are just poorly designed.

    Road 96’s story is very interactive and all of our choices have consequences that can be very small or completely change what’s going to happen. Because of that, the replayability is immense.     Cards on the table: Metroid is a series that I haven't had too close ties to for a long time. I am rather indifferent. That's why I didn't care about the open surroundings and the focus on hand-to-hand combat instead of firearms - but I understand if some fans of the predecessor would have wished for something else. On the other hand, I find it unhappy how lax and low-tension the fights are. For example, I raked the flying ox on the opposite side with an ice ax until it was dead. In such banal arguments, the joy of victory is limited. There are certainly people who have a better sense of direction than I do, because in some places I was quite at a loss as to where to go next. Here is my tip: If in doubt, go to the breach area. By the way, an all-round good innovation is the teleporting of memory points. That saves Indra a long walk or two.

    Sonic is the hero of my childhood! I grew up with 2D platformers and my Mega Drive with games is now well protected in a glass cabinet in the living room. Accordingly, I approached Sonic Origins with hope. Sega would have had the chance to interest younger players and offer old fans a little added value. But they missed it cleanly. For new players, 40 euros for four old games will be too much. At the same time, the collection offers almost nothing new for fans. Sure, the scans of the old manuals and developer sketches are nice, but they are nothing more than some fluff on top. The versions of the games work good on PS 5 and still play fantastically, but they are only warmed up and nothing here is original from the Mega Drive. This is simply unworthy of these classics of gaming history.

    There are two sides to That Dragon, Cancer. There is the tragedy of small Joel Green, who was killed by one of the most insidious sicknesses on the planet. I feel for him and his parents. But then there is also the game that was born from this tragedy. And it is simply and quite literally too much of a pain to play.

    If you're into open worlds and extreme sports, Riders Republic is great. At least for about twenty hours. The world is gigantic and because of the intuitive controls the different sports are all fun to play. But Riders Republic falls into the same trap as its predecessor Steep, when it promises endless fun, but after a while there is no content anymore, if you are not willing to grind and play the same events over and over again. Besides there are technical issues with the Mass Races. It is always a gamble, if the race works or you get kicked out of the session.

    Hell Pie is a entertaining retro-style 3D-platformer with a big amount of humour and an even bigger amount of bodily fluids. The gameplay makes a lot of fun and is satisfying, the levels are very atmospheric, and the game is full of references. For a platformer the level designs and challenges could be a bit more glittering. But people who enjoyed Conker’s Bad Fur Day, will definitely love Hell Pie.

    Fallen God is a good and lenghty standalone expansion to Spellforce 3, but it does not have the same impact as Soul Harvest did. The new troll faction is somewhat of a mixed bag, the dialogues drag out too much and the rts elements can feel a little undercooked. But Spellforce has always been more than the sum of its parts and if you loved the two previous games in the series, there is a good chance you will love Fallen God as well.

But technical flaws, clumsy controls and too much action in the second half of its campaign ultimately prevent it being an excellent horror game, instead rendering it simply a fun ride with lots of minor issues.

    Tindalos Interactive did a good job of injecting atmosphere and setting from the fine tabletop-game into a great visual and entertaining RTS on PC. There are tons of options to develop your Battlefleet in the Warhammer 40k-Gothic-Universe. The campaign’s plot is a nice adaption of the 12th Black Crusade and the battles are based on tactical decisions. Unfortunately there is lack of mission-variety and often the time-limits during the missions can be frustrating. Units/Factions are not well balanced so far, so you often have no idea, why you win or lose a battle. Skirmish and Multiplayer is quite entertaining for a while, but it offers not that many options and only the same scenarios as in the campaign mode.

    Sherlock Holmes: Chapter One is a very good detective game. It gives us the illusion of being a true master detective. The game world is a great alternative to London. Sadly, there’s one serious flaw: Chapter One is too easy with barely any real puzzles around. However, it’s still a must-have for any fan of Sherlock Holmes, if only to see how the young Holmes became the Detective we all love.

    I like spaceships and if there is still strategy, I am on board. Battlestar Galactica: Deadlock delivers a decent package that can last for around fifteen to twenty hours - once you get used to the fiddly, less intuitive handling.

    Robust mechanics and some interesting ideas make Hard West 2 an enjoyable sequel, even though it does have its flaws. If you can look past the shallow character development and the occasional trial & error design, it's a solid recommendation, especially if you consider the low price tag.

    The gameplay in Tales of Kenzera: ZAU does at solid job at keeping up with other platformers. The unique abilities which are each provided a nice background story benefit the worldbuilding in a way that other Metroidvanias are more than welcome to adapt. However, the story and dialogue want to be deeper than they ultimately succeed at being. The low enemy variety and their constant recycling is really annoying.
