Played it before or not, Serious Sam HD: The First Encounter belongs in every shooter's fan library for its brilliant throwback to older days when killing things was all we needed to do.

Such a hard game to review as the core gameplay is so much fun, but many things are holding back from achieving greatness. The 'power shots', while a good addition, should never have been made compulsory for Tournament play.

Despite the repetitive fetch quests, the fine story retelling and accessible fighting system make Naruto: The Broken Bond among the better anime or franchise based games available.

Enriched with lovely graphics, an inviting gameplay structure and that special Meier something, Railroads! could’ve been a real gem for train simulation fans. However, with a few flaws such as simple and repetitive goals, and a game that is an absolute system hog, Sid Meier’s Railroads! isn’t as great as we expected.

Our main complaint with Virtua Tennis 3 is the fact that Sega are happy to sit on their laurels and release a game that is very similar to its predecessor. However, they say that if it isn't broke then don't fix it, and Virtua Tennis 3 is definitely not broke.

An unexpectedly good time that manages to rise above a cluster of problems, most notably - for us, at least - with multiplayer. A smidge more polish will get Universe at War up there with the best.

Madden NFL 08 is a step in the right direction for Madden on the HD consoles. While it's still quite a good game, a few more steps are needed.

It’s a little rough around the edges and there’s not much in the way of variety here, but what it does do it does well.

After Burner Climax definitely delivers in the explosions, thrills and fun, but much like a Half Minute Hero, it's over before you know it.

Madden for the masses. It's fun, easy to get into and a great fit for Wii.

Dante’s Inferno is an enjoyable and technically impressive action game which is otherwise blighted by its unappealing aesthetics and wholesale lack of originality.

The best thus far of the Yu-gi-oh! franchise. Not for doing anything new, but for making the best translation of the card game into digital form. Is it a sign of things to come?

The number and quality of the mini-games makes Mario Party DS an easy recommendation to fans of the series.

Attack on Pearl Harbor offers some great 'arcadey' action and some incredibly fun aerial combat that is great in short bursts. However players looking for something in a complicated/involving vein are best to look elsewhere.

As with any Ridge Racer game, this does exactly what it says on the tin. Although times have changed and the series isn’t the high profile name it used to be, if you want an old school, arcade style sliding, high-speed racing game, you need not look any further.

We can't help but feel a little disappointed by Sonic Advance 3. There's nothing really wrong with the game, it's just feeling like Sega are treating this game like an EA update, with a few roster changes and minor enhancements. This feels more like Sonic 2.5 than a full fledged sequel.

Sports Champions is likely the strongest of the launch titles for the PlayStation Move, as it not only provides some solid entertainment in its game modes, but showcases the potential of the Move itself.

It's big, it's loud and... it's a bit dull. A ginormous RTS feast that will prove to be indigestible for most.

A competent action RPG that will appeal directly to children and existing Spectrobes fans. The generic anime visuals and predictable story will put off some hardcore RPG gamers, but those who give it a go will become immersed in the fun combat systems and addictive monster collecting scenario.

Supreme Commander 2 is a strategy game that plays very well for the casual market, but may turn off the hardcore fans of the original title. However, make no mistake that this is still a fun game with enough depth to be worthy of your time.

The innovation is there, and what’s expressed is done well. But Atelier Iris suffers from some really stupid mistakes. In a genre that relies heavily on keeping gamers interested, the backtracking, silly errand missions and slow progressing story don’t help at all.

The controls, graphics and story are great, but length and lack of replay value brings the game down - but it's always nice to play something different now and then.
