Perhaps one of the game’s biggest failings is its price - at US$29.99, you can twice buy Mount & Blade, which does everything Aethereus does but in a much more polished way.

There's nothing to save this shambles and no way to recommend it to anyone. If you're a fan of the movie, this will ruin it for you and if you like brawlers, there's a thousand better ones (some from more than 20 years ago outstrip this easily) to satiate your desires. Avoid.

Patchy. It suffers from bugs that see you teleporting from one place to another, graphical glitches, unfortunate design decisions, and poor level design. On the upside the arcade game is so good it should have been its own game.

Turbo: Super Stunt Squad will have a limited shelf-life that can be perfectly mapped to the cinema release of the movie and possibly the follow-up DVD sales window. It will entertain fans of the movie over a wet weekend or two, but ultimately the sub-par graphics, limited gameplay, and clunky controls make this game about as flawed as Ryan Reynolds' acting.

Perhaps I shouldn’t have been surprised that ORION: Dino Horde was such a disappointment. The gaming industry has been rife with rumors about scurrilous behaviour concerning a very similar title, Dino Beatdown. ORION: Dino Horde's rough edges suggest that it has been quickly brought to market and cynically shoveled out to gamers in the vain hope that its over the top premise will bring in a few bucks.

Overall, Girl Fight feels like a cheap, less fluid (motion-wise), knock off of Dead or Alive. The arcade mode demands you play through at least seven times, which wouldn’t necessarily be a bad thing if this were a better game.

Ultimately, it's about as disappointing as a game could be. It's less "Call of Duty" and more "cynical cash grab," attempting to con Vita owners out of their hard-earned. At a budget price, with the bugs fixed and a name that better suits the experience, things might be different; as it is, this game is less Declassified and more Disgusting. Avoid, and tell your friends to do likewise.

All up though, Speed Racer is colourful, funny, has good music and the graphics still hold up on the aging PS2. In fact, I would go so far as to say Speed Racer makes a much better game than it does a movie.

Yes, the graphics aren’t great (but they are cute), there is only one speed (which could take a while for Sims fanatics to get used to), and things move along pretty slowly. It’s still a really good game.

While it is good to have another RPG on the PSP, its controls and other poor design features wrench you away from the experience, and don’t really allow you to enjoy the game like you should be able to with any title.

All in all, I found EA’s Monopoly unfulfilling and sterile Although the graphics are clean and crisp there is no ‘heart’ to it. But what I find most remarkable is that there is no online multi-player ability. Seeing it’s a multi-player game I would have thought that online play would be a logical extension.

The highlight of the pack, however, has to be the 10th Anniversary ‘gifts’ that also come in the stuff pack: three favourites from previous Sims titles. Yes, the vibromatic bed is finally back, as is the large (now stockable) aquarium, and an awesome electric guitar.

It's important to note that this DLC adds nothing new in terms of the gameplay. In a similar vein to the previous Kinect Sports Season 2 content for the golf component, this Midnight Mountain Ski Pack just adds new maps or tracks to your library. However, each new map has been well thought out and manages to get more juice out of the original game by offering up new challenges.

Battlefield Academy is not going to win awards for its graphics (although it has a unique style) and equally, you will not be aghast at its realism. This is a good game on mobile devices where retro games seem to have a solid following. I am not convinced though this is a good game for the PC. Sure the Leap Motion system is a point of difference, but it’s not enough to raise it above being an average game.

It’s a game that not only takes practice, but also takes patience to play. While you bowl bouncers, hit sixes, and get to ask for the DRS if you've been given out - the game's biggest thrills are a tidy over of good line and length, and the crack of the ball coming out of the fat of the bat.

Commentators aside, some of what Big Ant did well in the original game gets a bit lost in its second season. buried under the weight of the options and menus. But, you can still smash it like the Big Bash and IPL, if that’s what you’re after. Or, you can go all village green on the game. Molemen Must Die manages to be both “mindless” fun and a thought-provoking piece of art. It’s an over-the-top action platformer that’s easy to dive into and hard to put down, full of goofy humour, cute pixel art, and pumping music. The Falconers: Moonlight is an exciting, well-written visual novel with some beautiful art, and that alone should be enough to entice the genre’s usual audience. But it’s something more than that, too – it’s a game that doesn’t just use Aotearoa as some sort of exotic set dressing, but builds a whole game around it. We have so many stories to tell, and I hope that this game inspires a lot more developers to explore them.

Midnight Shadows is a bit more plot-driven than Night Alone (which was deliberately vague, for the most part), but there’s still a lot of room for interpretation. It’s never quite made clear how all the different pieces fit together – again, deliberately – and even the chronology of events and the reality of what the girls experience is up for debate. At face value, there’s a simple but moving tale of a struggle for friendship, but like any good horror story there’s a lot going on beneath the surface. Everyone will have their own take on it, and that’s a wonderful thing.
