It still has some of the flaws inherent in many of the other Lego titles on the market but, at its core, it’s a strong title with solid gameplay and humor. Most importantly, it’s a licensed game from a developer that clearly knows and appreciates the license, and that frequently shines through. With a script co-written by classic Avengers scribe Kurt Busiek and a plethora of new heroes and villains to play as, Marvel fans of all ages will find a lot to love.

I genuinely had fun with this title, but technical issues and a drab story kept it from achieving greatness.

As a fashion game, Style Savvy: Trendsetters succeeds on almost every level. Buying clothes, selling them, and then creating borderline insane outfits for your customers and supermodels never seems to get old.

This is an easy pick-up-and-play title, and the real strength lies in the multiplayer mode, which can be especially useful for long car trips when there aren't enough systems to go around.

It may be a strange thing to concede, but the Gamecube port of RE4, with tacked on Wii remote functionality, trumps this Wii-developed title in almost every department.

To be honest, if you’ve already own last year’s game, there isn’t that much of a point to check this game out. Why? Lockout. There won’t even be a season this year. There just aren’t enough improvements here to ensure your interest.

Those completely unfamiliar with Dragon Ball may or may not be able to look past the faults to find a pretty decent game, but, to even a casual fan such as myself, Xenoverse 2 represents an incredibly fun game that succeeds both as an adaptation of the franchise, as well as a clever new addition to it.

This one's for shmup fans only. With no competition on DS, N2 scratches the itch for portable shooting.

Even though the unlockables are unbelievably light, Mega Man X Collection is a great value.

The game could stand to be fleshed out in the areas of multiplayer and including something for single players to do after the campaign is through, but what Battalion Wars includes out of the box is still quite fun to play.

From its soulless and utterly unendearing cast of characters to its needless backtracking and convulted story, Tales of the Abyss has very little to offer even die-hard JRPG enthusiasts.

Another fantastic entry in its series, and easily one of the best 3DS releases of the year. The game retains the charm and wit of previous Paper Mario titles, and its new sticker mechanic makes combat even more engaging than before.

An enticing action-RPG adventure that will take you on an eye-popping romp through classic Disney locales and have you swinging your keyblade to no end in its fantastic battling system. But for all it does right, it will still manage to leave a sour taste in your mouth at times.

It isn’t the best looking game nor is it the best playing, but it certainly has its moments and is worth random sessions of playtime on the road or for a slight diversion. Rare’s best works have been 2D side-scrollers and their work here is no exception.

It is easily one of the best Action RPGs on the Game Boy Advance and one of the best licensed titles available for the handheld console.

The single player mode of this puppy is a bit lacking. But if you have friends, and you all should, than this is the best party game since Wheel Of Fortune!

The Mummy Demastered gives Switch owners a Metroidvania style game, while also delivering an experience that brings in some twists of its own. It has a few small warts that hold it back from the classic status of the video game franchises that inspired it, but the fact that can be said for a licensed game in 2017 is nothing short of remarkable.

With a lengthy 60-70 hours of gameplay, Origins is more than worth its value in longevity. Highly recommended.

The high-speed racing, combined with a dedicated combat interface, makes for a exciting mix without placing too much emphasis on the vehicle-versus-vehicle matches.

As expected, the originals are better and more authentic Resident Evil experiences, and you'll get more enjoyment-- though not multiplayer-- out of them. Darkside Chronicles, on the other hand, is best for someone who absolutely loves light-gun games and has a buddy along for the ride.

With the five courses, the tournaments, the scenarios, and the multiplayer modes there is enough here to keep you busy for a long time.

The space action, although basic, is addictive. The land action, though mostly text-based, remains fun throughout. The storyline, too, is powerful, thanks both to subplots that are complex without being confusing and a vast array of great characters, who shine despite being essentially static images.

A game that will be loved by the fans, and tolerated by everyone else.

If you have a girlfriend, boyfriend, or spouse who doesn’t get into games that much, plug in this title and go right to "Mean Bean Machine." You’ll have so much fun you won’t hardly believe it.

Unfortunately, overall I found the game to be frustrating more often than fun. The problems were just too much to overcome.

A consistently excellent action/adventure with original level design and excellent visuals and audio.

Although it fails to visually inspire any sense of awe, Hudson’s creation astounds the player by taking Nintendo’s advice and creating something fresh with a formula that’s existed since the eighties. Well done!

The intuitive touch control and signature gameplay far outweigh the bare-bones presentation and lack of any new game modes.
