I didn’t like the artistic approach, but this was the only downside to The Song Out of Space. Every other element worked perfectly to convey this strange sci-fi detective tale. With some interesting yet candid people and a creepy isolated location, this is a wonderful visual novel to experience. I enjoyed it.

The fetch quests sandwiched between the story also provide you with materials for you to create and customize new weapons, or Maglams, but with move-sets that feel identical, this does little to make the action seem any different from first to last.

If you love the detective genre, then you will adore the challenge that awaits. With some interesting and bizarre crimes to solve, colourful characters and vivid era-specific imagery, it’s a treat for the senses. However, even with all these positives, it was missing something! I can’t ignore the rinse and repeat character models, the rehash of many scenarios, and the lack of interaction. It left me wanting more, as I could see its potential. Despite its shortcomings, I recommend you to buy it.

Reverie Knights Tactics is a fun but tough turn-based tactical RPG. You must control a small band of heroes as you fight relentless foes, manage your stats, and plan every move. It is tough and requires a methodical mindset.

Those issues aside, Wreckfest provides a strong offering full of content that will appeal to both casuals and fans alike. The gameplay is innately fun and with the addition of unlockables and a wealth of customisation options, there is plenty to keep you interested if somehow the allure of absolute carnage wasn’t enough.

OlliOlli World is a fantastic 2.5D adventure sports title. Do you have what it takes to become the next Skate Wizard? Perform tricks, grind rails, leap chasms, and complete every task across 5 unique districts. It's colourful, loud, fun, and will remind you of the 90s.

Kungfu Kickball is a bizarre blend of martial arts, football, and volleyball. You must outwit your opponent while beating them to death and scoring more goals. You traverse an array of arenas and take on the best kungfu kickball masters. It's fun to play with friends but becomes tedious and unbalanced against the computer.

There really aren’t many negative aspects to this simple, short game. It’s fun to play as close to a simulated-style game, doing as you like. There is no wrong or right, just humorous fun, and creative play! So I think the only thing that the game has me feeling is the need for more! It’s clearly a simple and a great game, and reminds me of a few well-designed games that required doodling; Scribblenauts or Drawn to Life. Despite the simplicity of the graphics and lackluster colors or character design, I’m just hooked to the charm of the freedom on how you play, I just can’t wait for another book to open and a new epic journey to begin.

El Gancho is a brilliantly dated action-platform title. With simple mechanics but addictive gameplay, this will keep you going for hours. A wonderful casual experience that will get under your skin.

This game is quite amusing and entertaining. It’s full of beautiful scenes, nifty-looking characters that I’ve not seen in any other game, and a few minor issues, but everything is well-designed. I mean it’s practically perfect from start to finish and everything in between. The world is gorgeous and the characters fit the story quite well. Each with their own personal spicy attitude and mannerisms.

Maya and Devin are separated in a city on fire. In the year 1990, before cell phones or Internet. They’re on their own, wondering about the choices that brought them here, how they met, and what the future might hold.

When you get the game to work Red Ego have made significant improvements on the franchise’s first outing. The voice acting, storyline and artwork are all wonderful. Just be careful of the bugs… and monsters.

Serious Sam 4 is a title that fails to live up to its own madness. With potential for crazy and wacky scenarios, this could have been phenomenal. Sadly, however, it's dull, tiresome, and mundane. It's lacking in most departments and will leave you wanting.

The Dead Tree of Ranchiuna is a wonderfully dark walking simulator title. One of the, if not the best Bodur games available that is emotive and chilling. A beautiful world of love, friendship, and betrayal await you.

I didn’t have high expectations at the start, but Webbed is a gem of a game. Thanks to its wonderful combination of physics-based mechanics and interesting characters, you’ll never get bored. Furthermore, the eclectic blend of environments will instantly capture your attention. I loved every moment.

Pokemon Legends Arceus delivers the kind of Pokemon game experience so many have been hoping and asking for such a long time and the potential to do more is huge. The satisfaction of the main story to the new style of battling and focus on exploring this world rather than just being in it gives it an amazing tone that is not about just “I wanna be the very best” and instead has a far richer “I want to learn everything to share that knowledge with everyone” goal that I thrive on. What an incredible way to kick off 2022 as a Nintendo Switch owner.

White Shadows is a dark and gritty Orwell-inspired puzzle platformer. You must explore a grim industrial dystopia that will send chills down your spine. It comprises excellent ideas but it fails to evolve in the latter stages.

Though I despise losing hours of hard work, there is a part of me that adores the high risk. The genre pushes you from start to end and Vagante will test you because of its solid and tough mechanics. It’s a gem of an indie title that stands out from the crowd. Disappointingly, its graphics weren’t as strong as I’d have liked, but this is a minor complaint.

As a retro-inspired title, Super Onion Boy 2 ticks all the boxes. It’s bright, fun, and has a loud soundtrack. Furthermore, it’s easy to pick up, has secret locations to find. Yet, it lacks originality and depth. I wish the developers had tried something unique, but this never happened. I enjoyed it, but it could have been so much more.

There are only so many ways to reinvent the wheel in the shmup genre, but Risk System’s gameplay mechanic is certainly one way to do it, creating a thrilling action title that every side-scrolling fan will enjoy. It might have been available on other systems for some time, but considering its content and the price there is enough value on offer here to justify giving it a shot.

Alexio is a hardcore platform title that'll make you scream. It uses a one-hit philosophy so death is all but guaranteed. Can you complete the adventure to discover your monobrow, or will the difficulty better you? Kill your enemies, avoid their projectiles, and become a true drake.

Asterix and Obelix: Slap them all! is a fun yet familiar beat-em-up title. It doesn't break the mould and there are better examples of the genre. However, it looks great, has a wonderful soundtrack, and will make you laugh.

Aeterna Noctis is great. A game that’s sure to impress and delight its audience, the people who are looking for a very hard, huge metroidvania. It needed more polish to truly shine, but even as it stands it’s quite surprising, incredibly big, hauntingly beautiful, atmospheric and fun in a specific, agonizing way. If that’s what you want, you can’t get wrong with Aeterna Noctis.

As a whole, 7 Years From Now is an oddly charming yet extremely melancholic journey. When you think you’ve got somewhere and finally recapped a memory, you take two steps back and are back to square one. It’s an honest account of our protagonist, Haruto, and his thoughts and feelings when trying to understand how he got in this position. It’s frustrating, grating, lacklustre, but it’s also charming and heartwarming. You never know what to expect next, which is what makes it an engaging game.

This gaming miracle is more than just a historical footnote to marvel at from afar with a neat combo system and gorgeous 2D aesthetic that makes it a must-play for platforming enthusiasts. There are also some nice touches such as a remixed soundtrack and some notes from the developer which are all gravy and should most definitely garner the publisher some well deserved praise, but even so, it’s still a shame more effort wasn’t made to add more playable content, even if a lower price point attempts to soften the blow.

Breakneck City is a wonderfully dated 90s-inspired beat-em-up title. Thanks to its garish colours, low-poly imagery, and synth music, you can relive a brilliant genre in an amazing era. 6 levels and bosses stand between you and victory.

This is such a wonderful game that really is great for kids and adults. It is so much fun to play with a group of people, friends or family and even by one’s self. Nevertheless, you can do so much with the many options to play. For example, the multiplayer choice gives you an option to play separate games to compete with 2-4 others. While, the single-mode is a game on its own, where others can join if they like.
