Atlas Fallen: Reign of Sand is a commendable action RPG that showcases a marked improvement over its initial release. While its combat system and customization options stand out as highlights, the game is somewhat let down by its repetitive encounters and underwhelming narrative. Nevertheless, it offers a solid mix of action and exploration, making it a worthwhile pick for fans of the genre. For newcomers or those who missed the original, this enhanced version is an excellent entry point. While it may not redefine the action RPG genre, it delivers a well-rounded and enjoyable experience, particularly for players seeking fast-paced combat and a customizable playstyle.

Pyramid Platformer - The Gem Heist is an old-school experience with a colourful setting. I loved the familiar gameplay but disliked the minor controller issues. Though this was frustrating, it was fun and I liked the level design and the drip-fed mechanics.

Expeditions: A MudRunner Game is a fun open-world driving experience. I liked the varied biomes and the crew system. Moreover, the freedom to explore makes this a moreish game. Though the sideways step will disappoint hardcore fans, I think this is a great addition to the franchise.

Is Anima Flux a game you absolutely must play? Probably not. But if you’ve got a spare couple of hours and an unhealthy desire to collect power-ups from giant insect guts, well, this could be your next distraction. Just don’t expect it to redefine the genre or leave you thinking.

Life is Strange: Double Exposure truly is a new benchmark for a franchise that is close to my heart. A superb thought-provoking tale spearheaded by the exquisitely voiced Max, make this game stay in the mind and heart for years to come. A diverse and well rounded cast help propel the story to new heights whilst new gameplay mechanics make this the most interactive and immersive game in the series. Industry leading graphics and the best soundtrack of the year make this a strong contender for end of year awards. Only minor sound issues and overall story length hinder this spell binding tale. I laughed, I cried and now I long for more.

While Metaphor does not soar to the highs that Persona 5 did, this game is a truly exceptional RPG. Its turn-based combat is a lot of fun to engage with, the dungeons are massive and a ton of fun to explore. The characters have the same emotional depth that Studio Zero is known for, and its grandiose story will leave you on the edge of your seat. Metaphor: ReFantazio is a special game and it is worth your time.

Spirittea is a wholesome life sim title that has a ghostly edge. The gameplay is familiar and I loved the pixelated edge. However, the work-life balance is off and this causes problems. If you can look past this issue, you'll enjoy this fun but time consuming title.

Empire of the Ants is a strange blend of RPG and RTS action. However, it is the ultrarealistic world and the phenomenal audio that makes this shine. Though the camera angle was occasionally horrible, I enjoyed the variety of missions and the interesting but flawed story.

63 Days is a harrowing and melancholy game that tells a fantastic but chilling story. Sadly, though, there are too many shortcomings and this prevents it from excelling. However, if you can look past the issues, you'll find a fascinating game to play.

Red Dead Redemption remains an example of excellent writing and characterisation. Its setting is atmospheric, and there's a reasonable amount to do, even if there are slight engine annoyances and some repetition in the mission structure.

The innovative assortment of tasks makes each level even more interesting, making this hidden objects title stand out from the rest. Hidden in My Paradise is definitely worth a try, and might be a great option to chill out and escape from the world even for just a sliver of a second . . .

Tales of Arise - Beyond the Dawn is a bit of a strange DLC. The developer waits nearly 2 years to revive its game. However, they have done a great job with the additional content. You get great value for money even though there are some minor shortcomings.

Shogun Showdown is a rare gem. One of those games that hook you from the very first round and keep pulling you back for more. The addictive gameplay loop, the strategic depth, and the thrill of unlocking new cards, upgrades, and characters are all part of what makes it so compelling. Shogun Showdown is the kind of game that reminds you why gaming is such an incredible experience. And trust me, once you start, you’ll be just as hooked as I am.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Splintered Fate is an exceptional rogue-like that is tough and fun to tackle. Furthermore, it has mountains of replay value and plenty of character builds to work through. You'll have a great time if you play this alone. However, it excels when you take Shredder down with your friends.

AWAKEN- Astral Blade is truly a mixed bag across the board. Engaging combat and beautiful environments and design are real high points in this streamlined version of the MetroidVania genre. However, a forgettable and boring story which fails to build upon the promise of an intriguing protagonist, poor enemy design and a middling musical score stop this game from reaching its potential and make the game seem a cheap imitation.

Rugrats: Adventures in Gameland has a wonderful 90s edge. Furthermore, the action is easy to understand. However, this simplicity will frustrate older gamers. Accordingly, this is a child-friendly title (when played cooperatively) that has a niche appeal.

Shinchan: Shiro and the Coal Town is a wild, whimsical ride through a charming Japanese village, filled with Shinchan’s trademark shenanigans. While some tasks might feel a bit mundane, the real joy comes from exploring this quirky world and meeting its eccentric characters. If you’re in the mood for a lighthearted adventure that captures the carefree spirit of childhood, this game is definitely worth checking out.

Overall, Ys X: Nordics balances the familiar and the new, delivering an enjoyable experience for fans despite a few missteps. The land-based combat and character interactions are a hit, while the naval exploration and combat could benefit from refinement. It’s a game that brings excitement for long-time Ys fans and offers a good starting point for newcomers, albeit with the caveat that it may not be the series’ best effort at sea.

Monster High Skulltimate Secrets is an adventure platforming title for kids aged 7+. This colourful and monster-filled affair has a straightforward plot and some interesting cinematic. Simply put, Silent Hill 2 is a complete horror masterpiece. It is a superb thought-provoking story that hit closer to home than I had expected and it is propelled by a new combat system that really helps create the feeling of desperation. Sublime graphics, haunting environment design and truly chilling sound design and score help make this the quintessential horror game. I have never loved horror. But I truly love this game.

Starship Troopers: Extermination left me wanting. Though it is a fun multiplayer experience, it is flawed. There isn't enough polish and the single-player campaign is laughable. Furthermore, the Galactic Front element felt like an afterthought. It is a shame as the gameplay can be hectic, challenging, and rewarding. If the developers polish things up, then maybe this can reach its potential.

The Smurfs: Dreams is a surreal adventure title that tackles combat, platforming, and puzzle mechanics. Furthermore, each stage is wonderfully designed. The perspective twisting action will test your skills and the gameplay is ideal for younger gamers. My only complaint is the lack of replay value.
