    Not exactly content rich, but that's the point. Ultimately, you get to play this expansion free of charge, and if you like what's here (and you should), a dollar gets you the full shebang. Offroad Legends Sahara doesn't pack enough content to last even a weekend, but for a couple hours, it satisfies.

    There's lots to like about the game though, not least because this is a paid-for tower-sim that's entirely free of in-app purchases. If games like Tiny Tower tickle your fancy, yet you find the unavoidable pay-to-advance elements distasteful, you'd be silly not to at least consider calling in on Smooth Operators.

    Outlaw provides a couple hours of fun, depending on how much time and/or money you invest. The artwork is disappointingly low-res, but considering the game's free, it's a cool shoot-em-up that provides a welcome escape. The lack of a wow factor notwithstanding, we'd rather play this over its predecessor.

    My Railway HD is likely to divide gamers. On the one hand, it's one of the most enjoyable freemium titles that we've played for a very long time: it looks beautiful, its mechanics are more engaging than most, and the game does an excellent job of guiding you through your career progress.

    As a sort of very temporary, throwaway experience, Angry Birds Friends will probably entertain for a time, but we doubt it has the legs to cause the App Store charts any serious problems in the long run. Unless you can come to some sort of agreement not to use cash purchases with a close selection of friends, it's hard to see how the global experience will leave anything but a bitter taste in the mouth.

    While Football Heroes is hardly the next NFL Blitz, it is a fun little football romp to play when taking a break from Madden. It's worth a trip to the end zone.

    Unfortunately, the game's biggest issue, while not a deal breaker, is quite bothersome. Several times, we watched helplessly as an alien was about to roll off an edge, only to slowly roll in the opposite direction, where it remained until we were forced to restart the puzzle from the beginning. It also appears that the game doesn't take advantage of the new iPad or iPhone 4/4S' Retina display.

    With the tools Codemasters has at its disposal here, the developer's delivered a mobile rally experience that's about as good as it gets - albeit one where a lack of true multiplayer seems like a bit of a missed opportunity. Even if the framerate wobbles a little, even on the latest Apple hardware, it still delivers a fun enough rally experience.

    Nostalgia fiends are going to get an awful lot more out of Spy vs Spy than those who have never played the game previously: this is every bit the game that was played and loved all those years ago, and the option to play with retro graphics is a very nice addition. For everyone else, there's certainly an enjoyable game to be had here, but the controls will likely take some of the shine off the experience.

    Awakening Kingdoms is a robust and full-featured mixture of genres, but it still stumbles a bit when it comes to finding its footing in the grand scheme of free-to-play titles. If you're a fan of the Awakening games, you'll find Kingdoms agreeable, however.

    How you approach Marvel Puzzle Quest depends on your expectations. It's not complete, and having to pay for stronger characters is a bummer.     For the most part, though, the non-stop action, drive to achieve Turtle Power and the various goodies in the shop are enough to keep us playing. On that note, and if you're willing to put up with its warts, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Rooftop Run will provide quite a few hours of foot stomping fun.

    For the most part, though, Lock 'n' Load provides several hours of dark, twisted fun. There's also a lot bang for the proverbial buck, with 16 primary levels, another nine stages in the unlockable Call of Minions campaign and finally, six challenge maps, all for $0.99. So while it isn't the most original title on the App Store, Chillingo's blast fest definitely helps relieve some stress after a tough day at work.

    There's no denying that Sudoku Gridmaster is a somewhat boring release, but its very clear in what it is and what it is attempting to accomplish, and I feel it accomplishes it quite well.
