Grand Theft Auto IV means the matureness for Rockstar, abandoning -though not completely- all its insane humor and arcade action, this chapter of Niko Bellic captures the essence of the american society with black humor, great narrative and the characteristic 'sandbox' gameplay that the franchise has featured all this years. For the PC version all stays the same: only the great technical optimization, the original video-editor and the 32 players online modes are present as news. But, when you leave a masterpiece exactly the same, its a right move.- Meristation

Super Mario Galaxy was considered one of the best platform games ever and we couldn't expect the same for its sequel. However, what Super Mario Galaxy 2 has achieved is amazing: every level contains a different and really original quest. You will play a totally new game inspired by the first game, but without copying it at all. In addition to this, Nintendo has also fixed most of the minor failures of its predecessor, including the low difficulty level.- Meristation

It had to be a monumental task to build this "city of dreams" and also populate it with passionate stories and characters, fantastic music and a captivating personality. Shortcuts to greatness are extremely rare, and the steadfast and safest path remains hard work, passion, and the desire to create something that surpasses others, with the right resources to do so. CD Projekt could have rested on The Witcher's laurels, made more sequels, and released a couple of best-sellers in the time it took Cyberpunk 2077 to finish, but that's not the path of the Polish studio, driven by more ethereal goals. Money, yes, and success, but leaving a mark too. Glowing brightly in the intensity of the night. Making history before our eyes.- Meristation

God of War Ragnarök is a clear example of how a sequel to a successful game should be approached: it is not just more and better, but it is also a title that does not shake its pulse when it comes to making weighty decisions (playable and narratives) and get most of them right. Killzone 2 rises from the ashes of the E3 2005 trailer to prove itself as even better; the most outstanding, immersive and technologically advanced first person shooter available for any console on the market. The dark and grim world created by Guerrilla hosts a crude conflict on Helghast soil, divided in 10 acts packed with a variety of situations portrayed with an epic tone. With a polished enemy AI, a huge multiplayer, a well balanced and powerful arsenal, 7.1 sound, great voice acting among some other strong points, few complaints can be made; only the lack of coop and some roughness in the allied AI. The rest is faithful and loyal to the promise Guerrilla made 4 years ago. Mission accomplished.- Meristation

Bioware has managed to update and evolve the formula that made Baldur's Gate 2 a classic, creating an engaging, rich, and solidly fantastic universe that feels consistently coherent and credible. Dragon Age is a triumph that shows, among other things, how the core values of the traditional roleplaying genre are still valid, managing to include a complete and versatile combat system that welcomes new players and will challenge veterans, with difficult encounters where tactics are the key to victory. Overall, it's a really special RPG, which truly deserves to be called "epic".- Meristation

Better late than never, Mass Effects finally comes to PS3 with an excellent port of the second part. While is unfortunate that PS3 only users won't experiment the first entry of the series, this version of the sequel offers a good chance to get into the series. Furthermore, the package is great and full of content, which adds a good value to it.- Meristation

Portal 2 is the great game that fans hoped. GLaDOS is back to make our life difficult. It doesn't allow us out of this hell that is the Aperture laboratory. Vegetation, more puzzles and many new challenges for one or two players.- Meristation

Mortal Kombat 1 is a true love letter to the 3D era of the saga. This is the Mortal Kombat 9 of this generation, and it must be valued as such. Although it is not sold as a celebration of legacy, it works very well as such and as a standalone saga title. It is a fairly complete video game whose main defects are not the game itself, but commercial decisions such as removing some fighters that are already included in the game to sell them separately. However, given the amount of content available and its quality, the fact that it will be updated over time and its overwhelming graphics make these outrages not hurt as much.- Meristation

Mass Effect 2 captures the elements that made the original a game to remember, showing once more the mastery of Bioware creating great stories and unforgettable characters. Not happy with that, the studio shows their will to surpass themselves with a very improved combat system which does a lot of right things to approach the gameplay of the best third person shooters available. Perhaps, in some aspects the team has been too overzealous to streamline certain aspects of the first game, loosing a bit of the original ingenuity, but it can't be discussed that the result is a more polished and focused title.- Meristation

What a sequel should be: bigger, more ambitious, but with a solid grasp on what the original was and wanted to be. A true example of how to design a world and an infiltration game.- Meristation

Mario Tennis Aces is the best entry in the series since the GBA title. Its gameplay mechanics are almost perfect as the game feels so smooth in each one of the game surfaces; furthermore, the adventure mode is like a perfect tutorial to canalize the special moves. Beautiful and fun, its only fault is the lack of single player content.- Meristation
