All in all, if you want a quick, and extremely satisfying fix of gorgeous looking shoot'em up, it doesn't get better than Phoenix HD.

Spirits keeps you engrossed with its beautiful graphics and puzzling gamely.

Malicious is by no means perfect, but it is one of the most entertaining downloadable PS3 games I've played in a while.

The visual and audio aspects of Lumines: Electronics Symphony are one of the main reasons as to why the game is so compelling to play. Q Entertainment, the studio behind the game, does an astounding job of making sure all three parts (visuals, audio, and gameplay) fit together perfectly and it pushes this combination to new heights with Electronic Symphony.

While I still feel as though EA made a better, and extremely under rated game, MMA fighting game with EA MMA, I do think that THQ has been able to match them with the newest UFC game, due to a great overhaul of the control system and an all most never ending amount of fun available, because of all the added features like Pride FC, and the Title Defense section.

It introduces a plethora of new units, tactics and gameplay elements, and does represent a significant evolution in the Total War series.

SSX is a triumphant success that brings the thrilling snowboarding title to the starved gamers on the new generation consoles and does so by not breaking what already works but making it a lot more fun. Offline multiplayer is definitely missed, but everything else is surprisingly solid and makes for a much recommended title for sport gamers.

If you've played Virtua Tennis 4 on the PS3 there's no need to revisit it here. That being said, tennis games are perfect for playing on the go, and Virtua Tennis 4: World Tour Edition is a perfect match for the Vita.

Street Fighter X Tekken is a great game that despite the lack of a story mode manages to win you over with its no-nonsense gameplay and staggering roster of characters (including special characters on the PS3 version). If you've not played a crossover game yet, then this is the one to pick up without a doubt.

When you set aside the forgettable characters and boring dialog you find a game that is so well polished in many of its other aspects. The title boasts one of the best combat systems ever in an action-RPG and a highly flexible class system that allows the player to choose to be whatever they want to.

The Darkness II is a series of wasted potential. Where it has a great story, it fails in narration. Where it has one of the most amazing gameplay, it fails by being repetitive. Where it manages to give the co-op a nice flavor, it fails with its half-baked execution.

While the game is still quite short, the survival mode and the penchant for climbing leaderboards will have you playing for a bit longer. If you're looking for a quick platformer that offers plenty of carnage, then this is the game for you.

An enjoyable and entertaining game that proves Square Enix is not down and out. However, it puts fans of the series in an awkward position, intriguing us enough to play through the game but constantly reminding us of its inadequacies.

Pineapple Smash Crew is all about mindless fun, and on that note is does deliver this. But apart from the mindless explosions and constant running around, there isn't much to check out in this game, which is a bit heartening as more game modes would have kept the action going.

While Bioware might be called out for playing it a bit safe and sticking to an already familiar MMO formula, the game still has plenty to keep both Star Wars and MMO fans engaged. If you're looking for a fleshed-out MMO that isn't as overcrowded as WoW, then this is the game for you.

What Soulcalibur lacks in Single player content, it makes up for it by having solid gameplay mechanics, fantastic visuals, and fairly good roaster of characters.

Dustforce is a game that you will stop playing and then want to play again to get that perfect score. It's not for everyone, as some gamers will find the difficulty a bit too strict for their liking. Still, if you're looking for a game that isn't afraid of challenging your skills, then Dustforce is the one for you.

The platformer that no one has heard about yet but everyone needs to try out. It's a bold project from a fledgling studio, and for the most part it offers a satisfying platformer experience for anyone looking to relive the classic platformer gaming experience.

Unstoppable Gorgs is a surprisingly satisfying game to play, thanks to its quirky presentation and smart use of satellite placement.

One of the best Zelda titles I have ever laid my hands on. Its right up there with Ocarina of Time in terms of how many new innovations it brings to the franchise while still holding its Dungeon focused Puzzle approach to the roots.

While there have, and there will continue to be, complaints about not being able to play online and with other people in Rayman Origins, I feel as though this game is best left as an experience between friends and just want to mess around with odd characters in an even stranger, yet beautifully made, world.

Lord of the Rings: War in the North still remains a game that can be enjoyed by Action-RPG lovers as well as lord of the Rings .The game has enough solid points to offer an enjoyable experience but does suffer from several issues that holds it back from becoming great.

If you haven't picked Mario Kart 7 up yet, you are going to miss out on such an amazing experience.

Sesame Street: Once Upon a Monster is a properly executed Kinect game for kids that doesn't try to do a hundred things just to be appealing. At last here's an enjoyable title that stands to be a firm favorite for anyone looking for an educational game for their kids to play.

A fun little romp that you can really only enjoy with friends. It's unfortunate that you can't enjoy it on your own, but you're in for a rage fit if you try some of the later dungeons on your own. With plenty of things to unlock, a variety of game modes and upcoming DLC, you're likely to get a satisfying couple of hours from Dungeon Defenders.

Trine 2 is one of those precious games that you can't help but fall in love with after just a few minutes with it. With some truly amazing level design and art styles, coupled with a simple gameplay mechanic, Trine 2 is a must try for any side-scrolling fans, or really just anyone who wants to have some fun with a rather unique adventure game.

All of these various improvements, from the subtle shifts in music to the beautiful scenery to high-res textures create a visual environment so deep that you'll totally feel lost in it. The story is very intriguing, and while it isn't breaking any barriers, it's genuinely great to see so much attention to detail in a game developed for mobile platforms.

So, there you have it…another example of how indie titles can very much hold their own against the big players in the industry in today's gaming world, if not triumph over them.

They managed to create a game that doesn't ride on nostalgia alone by becoming GoldenEye 2.0, and they were able to create a modern day FPS that doesn't turn its back on its roots, which is, in all fairness, the saving grace of Reloaded – a game that won't disappoint new and old fans of the 007 franchise.

Sonic Generations is a great game for fans of the series as well as anyone looking to play Sonic for the very first time. With plenty of unlockables and challenges to beat, this is the surefire Sonic game to get so far.

An excellent title that is tailor made specifically to use the capabilities that the 3DS provides. Impeccable use of 3D, brilliant level design and diverse environments and stages are all reasons why the game is such an enjoyable experience.

A great expansion upon the original that expands on its strengths and fixes a lot of the weaknesses.

Skyrim is like a music album that has a few tracks that you aren't particularly fond of, but rest of the music is pure aural blliss that you can't help but think of the album as close to perfection as possible.

While Revelations didn't resonate with me as much as Assassin's Creed 2 did, it did a great job of wrapping up the Ezio trilogy. Polished graphics and gameplay, a complex fascinating story, and diversity in missions and locations are on the forefront of why Revelations is a great experience.

It's the reason you have a Playstation 3. This is the second best exclusive I have played this year, Resistance 3 being the other one.

The game does have its setbacks. But it's far from a disappointment. Modern Warfare 3 has stood up to its predecessors and definitely does enough trash talking for itself.

While it cannot be compared to other big-league players, Hydrophobia Prophecy is still an enjoyable game that will mesmerize you with its watery effects – pun intended.

Rage is a fun first person shooter, and a marvel to look at. Unfortunately it is let down by a weak story and presentation.

An extremely beautiful looking game that takes advantage of the hardware in every way possible, resulting in an experience that's so huge and fulfilling that it will keep you satisfied for years to come, especially with all the DLC map packs int he pipelines.

Despite its quirky, comical outer shell, it's a game that has a surprising amount of depth to it, a characteristic that makes it both challenging and satisfying. Whether you're a fan of all-out, balls-to-the-wall action games, or more of a strategy connoisseur, Orcs Must Die! definitely deserves your undivided attention.

Despite all the new additions, Forza 4 still feels like Forza 3, but with Top Gear tacked on.

For those claiming that Dark Souls is unreasonably difficult, all one can respond is that is that they are sorely missing the point. The reality is that Dark Souls is not too difficult rather most games today are too easy. It is perhaps the most balanced game one can play. To survive, one must have patience, persistence and a high level of concentration…nothing is spoon-fed or handed to you on a silver platter.

Rocksteady has done a brilliant job integrating villains from the rouge gallery as side quests.

Dedication to the ruthless multiplayer portion is what will eventually pay off and set you to one of the finest and most gratifying tactical online shooters.

The action mixes well with the entertaining strategy elements of trap placement. The visuals are good and the sound is a definite high point. I only wish Orcs Must Die! Was longer; the game can be completed in around five hours, and after completing each level there's little incentive to keep playing.

A must have for fans of the sport, and is a marked improvement on last year's release.

Even with the Easy difficulty, though, Devil Survivor Overclocked is no easy game to beat, but the experience is ultimately very rewarding.

For us gamers in the Middle East, this year's version of the game is extra special. We now have the full menu and commentary in Arabic for the first time ever.

Not only a technical refinement over its predecessors in terms of gameplay style and mechanics, it also provides a richer experience with different co-op modes with multiple levels of depth within each mode.

Hard Reset is not the PC gaming juggernaut it might have been hyped to be. Rather, it is a little treat for PC Gamers to enjoy. In a time where modern gaming is increasingly geared towards consoles, special kudos go to Flying Wild Hog in their attempts to go back to the roots of FPS and go out of their way to please the PC community.

From Dusk is a very interesting title to play, but could have been a great game if the controls and difficulty were more polished.

The multiplayer might please some, but it is clearly not the attraction of the package. It goes out with just the right amount of emotions to satisfy both a gamer and a fan.

The graphics are neat, the background music engaging, and the sound effects brilliant. The Bungie leaderboards and stats also provide an in-depth analysis of your performance.

Adding up to the graphical changes and minor gameplay tweaks Ocarina of Time 3D also increases the replay value of an already amazing package.

All the little things that make a good game great are present here. Great graphics, decent sound effects, deep (yet quick) gameplay, new content in the form of missions and equipment available all the time, leveling up and customization for your entire team.

This game is a vast improvement over the previous one, and is probably the best tower-defence game out there. It doesn't have much replay value, apart from the multiplayer, but it is a game I definitely recommend as an action or tower-defence game.

At $0.99, Spy Mouse is a lot of content, and its achievements for each level should lure the completionist in, too. It's effectively simple, and its short level format makes it ideal for situations where boredom is all for kill.

If you're a fan of strategy games and are happy to forgo fancy graphics for good old fashioned gameplay, then you'll love Genesia. However, if you're a casual gamers and we know a lot of you iPad owners are, take note of the caveat – this one's not for noobs.

If you want to break way from the regular FPS drones and try something old-fashioned yet refreshing, then give Bodycount a go – you'll be surprised how much fun mindless shooting can be.

Fans of the game will feel that Eidos has done a good job with the property and it may open the door to more games in the future. For a new-comer, the game doesn't do anything revolutionary.

It's a clean, fuss-free game that provides a curious amount of fun on your PC.

While the gameplay does tend to get a tad bit repetitive sometimes, there's some amount of relief in the form of special levels where you're doing something completely different like chasing a new glow chum in order to make him your ally.

Graphically the game is quite impressive as the blur effects and the black and white distinction of zombies and humans respectively, gives it a very realistic edge.

A refreshing take on the puzzle and strategy RPG mash-up. Challenging but not inaccessible, Clash of Heroes is much more than a novelty game and perhaps on the best games of its kind on the PSN and XBLA.

Not enough horror, but the refreshing differentness complemented by the solid gameplay make this a great game.

Simply put Bastion is one of the best downloadable games available and is definitely one of the greatest and most unique experiences I have ever come across.

Lego Pirates of the Caribbean on the 3DS does a solid job of showcasing how fun Lego games can be.

It can be better, definitely deserves another release but you can't go wrong with the price tag.

Cars 2 is a racing game that serves up a fun racing experience with a variety of game modes to keep you occupied.

Best suited for someone who's never played Street Fighter.

A simple RPG that won't impress fans, but still delivers a fairly enjoyable experience to gamers.

Red Faction: Armageddon is a decent game, but doesn't quite bowl you over. It is however, a game with an engine that shows off some awesome destructive abilities.

If you've ever lamented the stale state of today's 2D platformers, Outland will rekindle your faith in the genre.

A game worth playing through twice to see both sides of Karma. A game for fans and a good buy for the console.

Although the detail of the players improved quite a lot from previous entries, there is still somewhat a lack of polish to the backgrounds and some specific players.

It may be bizarre but its beautiful and anyone looking or willing to trying something different will not be disappointed. Be it game or not, I'm unlikely to forget Superbrothers anytime soon.

One of the best fighting games on the consoles makes a triumphant debut on the 3DS.

One of the few games that can be classified as art.

While it's not perfect, this is easily the best Mortal Kombat to date.

Great for players new to MMOs, veterans may want to look elsewhere (or wait a bit longer).
