Somehow, despite the complexity, Devil Survivor Overclocked manages to remain accessible throughout.

You'll want to play this one even if you've beaten the non-Overclocked version more than once. [Sept 2011, p.78]

Even with the Easy difficulty, though, Devil Survivor Overclocked is no easy game to beat, but the experience is ultimately very rewarding.

If you already own or played the DS version, this may not be the reboot you were hoping for. For those coming to the title with a fresh face however, prepare to be impressed.

Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor Overclocked is a strong addition to the current lackluster 3DS lineup. Though it isn't truly a 3DS remake that utilizes all of the systems capabilities (including a very small amount of 3D), it does feature polished graphics, the addition of voice acting, and a new scenario to add to the multiple endings from the original version of the game.

An excellent RPG but a poor port. [Oct 2011, p.65]

In theory Overclocked is a successful remake of one of the DS’ grand role-playing games. Unfortunately preventable technical glitches like regular freezes and occasional crashes take a lot away from its’ theoretically well deserved glory.

For anyone who has played the original,This is a great game, and is especially recommended for everyone who never played the original. For anyone who has played the original, though, you can pass on Overclocked (the optional voice acting and extra demons/eighth day aren't really enough content to make an original experience). It's a challenging game, and the lack of 3D is great (I hope it encourages other 3DS developers to avoid this restrictive gimmick). It's a great game by Atlus and well worth your money. Expand

Pretty great game. There is really not much 3D, yes, but 3D is NOT required for a game to be fun. The graphics are anime-like, which by that IPretty great game. There is really not much 3D, yes, but 3D is NOT required for a game to be fun. The graphics are anime-like, which by that I mean they look like the Japanese anime. The battle graphics aren't too bad, though the demons make a bit of animation. The soundtrack is pretty nice, but the volume on the game is a bit low, and for the hard of hearing, you might need to get headphones and possibly something that boosts it up. The intro song is AMAZING. In the game, you play as a random guy, y'know, just high school student, second year. You get to name him. In fact, you HAVE to name him. He's a really cool guy. Then there's a girl, who's your friend, not girlfriend, friend, and she's named Yuzu. The other guy in the group is Atsuro. The game is about buying, battling, and fusing demons, and not to mention surviving. The game is SUPER tricky. There are "8 Days" in the game. You can either, if there is no required time event, speed up time by 30 minutes at a time. Your COMP will send you emails about the news and what will happened. Ex: Like "jimmy will get hit by a baseball bat and die". It's pretty creepy sometimes, but if you're fine with it, cool. The ending, and the character's lives, almost everything, depend on your decisions. So good luck! Expand

First off, this is an amazing game, regardless of the fact that it doesn't have any 3D save for the opening sequence and demon fusing. IfFirst off, this is an amazing game, regardless of the fact that it doesn't have any 3D save for the opening sequence and demon fusing. If you're a fan of tactical RPGs like Final Fantasy Tactics or Fire Emblem, I highly recommend it. The game lasts several hours, it took me well over 60 on my first playthrough on the DS version. There are many positives that come with this game, even if you bought the original. There are 20 more demons for a combined 150 demons, a full voice cast which, while people say it isn't good, I thoroughly enjoyed how clear it all sounded, and an added 8th Day which is more then an epilogue. If you're a JRPG fan and own a 3DS, this is a must buy. Expand
