In theory Overclocked is a successful remake of one of the DS’ grand role-playing games. Unfortunately preventable technical glitches like regular freezes and occasional crashes take a lot away from its’ theoretically well deserved glory.

There is a great 3D animated intro, but after that the game pretty much takes place on the bottom screen. I am a huge Shin Megami fan, and skipped the DS version of Devil Survivor, so the new version was one of the reasons I bought a 3DS. The game itself plays like all the other SMT games, collecting/fusing demons, with the added element of grid based srpg battles where when you do face your enemy, the battle plays out like any other SMT game. The game itself is on par with the other SMT games, and more animated than Strange Journey, so if 3D is no big deal and you just need a good jrpg, you will be very happy with this title.
The biggest disappointment is that this is a remake of a game that just came out a couple years ago, on a new system that is selling itself on new technology (3D), and wasn't remade to take advantage of that technology. Ghost Recon did an amazing job of taking the standard SRPG grid and turning it into 3D eye candy and that was a launch game! This game was delayed a few months after the original release date, so I was at least expecting something similar. This is the most disappointed I've been with Atlus ever.

Altus, i would think, is getting lazy with this one. save your money, get the DS version... you'll get (almost) the exact same experience but you'll be saving money and telling companies like Altus to not be lazy gits and actually give us some actual 3d for a 3d game.
