Final Fantasy XVI is the perfect combination of narrative, visuals, pacing, tension and combat and tells the most adult story in the series. The game is, without a doubt, one of the year's best, as well as one of the best Final Fantasy titles to date.- Malditos Nerds

Against the Storm is an independent proposal that combines the foundations of a city-building game with the unpredictability of a roguelite, in a format that is not boring and offers constant replayability thanks to the versatility of the title.- Malditos Nerds

Hades is Supergiant Games’ latest production, and also their best to date. Young prince Zagreus attempts to escape from the underworld due to reasons we’ll slowly uncover as the plot evolves. He’ll be aided by the Gods of Olympus, but only our own skill will decide if we came out victorious or if we die trying, returning home to start all over again. An action Roguelike perfectly designed like no other.- Malditos Nerds

In all aspects, this is the best version of a Grand Strategy game, far exceeding the second installment and, as controversial as it sounds, becoming the best candidate for strategy GOTY this year. A large number of mods (more than 100) and the fact that the game is never the same, no matter the starting options we choose, plus a community that is constantly active, all of this makes this a game that I would recommend to any fan of strategy games and RPGs.- Malditos Nerds

Baldur's Gate 3 is an incredible game, full of player-driven choices and expressive combat that appeals to creativity. It is a deep, flexible and immersive title capable of telling a gripping story that invites replayability. Larian Studios has brought to life a proposal that everyone, even those responsible for the original two installments, can certainly enjoy.- Malditos Nerds

What does perfection really mean in a video game? Only a masterpiece can generate that series of questions and a debate around it. That ambitious experience that, in its search, goes for everything and beyond. For me, without a doubt, that represents a 10.- Malditos Nerds

The Last of Us Part II is a third person action game, a survival horror, an immersive sim, a walking Simulator, and snippets of so many others, all at the same time. Without the immensity of an open world, it masterfully emulates the sense of freedom, and without the classic features of an RPG, it has allowed us to make the characters our own. Or rather, the other way around. It is an evolution for the genre in terms of technical aspects and an exercise in maturity in terms of how it deals with its themes. Despite some sloppiness, it holds the highest of standards and sets the mold for what should be the next generation of AAA games.- Malditos Nerds

Kentucky Route Zero begins on the road and expands to dozens of stories, all of them unforgettable. A must-play mystery and surreal adventure that took almost 10 years to be complete and has defined the ways of telling stories in video games, influencing many different titles.- Malditos Nerds

UnderMine is built to punish, but also to reward those who overcome the challenge with effort and skill. It is a game that is always a pleasure to play again, and that can steal hours and hours of our lives with no apparent effort.- Malditos Nerds

Death Stranding on PC is the best version of a true masterpiece. The pace of the game is relaxed and the open world is immutable, so conquering it requires great effort and patience. This makes it boring for some players. But, for others, it will be tremendously rewarding because our steps, however small, have an impact on the game's world.- Malditos Nerds

Persona 5 Royal improves the original absolutely in every respect. The new soundtrack is as amazing as ever, the bonus content offers a better ending than the original, and the combination of these elements builds an almost perfect game.- Malditos Nerds

The sum of all the elements that make up the game create a captivating game in every sense. The title not only plays very well but also has a story to tell and memorable characters that we won't soon forget. Throughout the experience, there are fun moments, dramatic moments, mind-blowing combats, and, above all, a game full of heart. Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 meets and exceeds every one of my expectations, making it one of my favorite games not only of the year, but in recent memory.- Malditos Nerds

At a certain point, it becomes challenging to find the ideal words to describe Granblue Fantasy: Relink because I feel that none are sufficient. Rare are the games that leave me feeling this way. Those games that, no matter how hard I try to find a negative aspect, I cannot. Those games that I want to keep playing for hours on end without a break, like when I was a carefree child. Those games that remind me why I love video games. And Granblue Fantasy: Relink is one of those games.- Malditos Nerds

Elden Ring feels like the natural evolution of a video game series that continues to reinvent itself after more than 13 years of its birth. FromSoftware is simply the best at what they do. While there are some technical issues and repetitive structures and creatures, Elden Ring is a cruelly wonderful piece of work and one of the best adventure games of recent years.- Malditos Nerds

Once again, Capcom leaves us speechless. We are only in the middle of March and this Resident Evil 4 is one of the best games of the year, along with the Dead Space remake. We are facing an immense proposal, with an amazing cost and production design, which is reflected in every aspect of the game. The direction is incredible, the design is incredible.- Malditos Nerds

There are many reasons why Loop Hero is an amazing game, such as the combination of different mechanics from different genres, setting up the road and your camp as if it were a strategy game, building our hero as if it were an RPG and the story, very similar in storytelling to graphic adventures of yesteryear. All of this makes a combo that everyone should enjoy.- Malditos Nerds

Dead Space Remake is a game that we needed. EA and Motive, in the same way as Capcom with their Resident Evil remakes, have marked a path. And that path will place this title on the podium of the best of 2023, without a doubt.- Malditos Nerds

Simple controls and tactical complexity merge to achieve the year’s best wargame in Unity of Command II. It’s a game that forces you to optimize each one of your moves, like a classic board game in the style of Risk, but without the randomness. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this game, either to novices or veterans of the genre.- Malditos Nerds

Manor Lords is a title with potential, although we will have to wait patiently to see it. This, undoubtedly, can deter the more impatient from giving it a chance. The progression is slow, and we might have to start several games from scratch to get the hang of it. On the contrary, those who are accustomed to this type of game will find here a beautiful and mechanically impressive city builder. [Early Access Review]- Malditos Nerds

Dragon’s Dogma 2 is a sequel that stays true to its roots, but in the best way possible. It recaptures what made the original unique and enhances it with new vocations to choose from and dozens of skills to master. It's an adventure across two gigantic continents to explore, brimming with mysteries and treasures, and a strong presence of mythological beasts to defeat. [Review in Progress]- Malditos Nerds

The Callisto Protocol is a sublime horror experience in atmosphere and immersion, offering a worthy challenge when it comes to single-enemy combat or against a mini-boss. The problem appears when the hordes arrive: when fighting many enemies, the rough combat mechanics are very noticeable. And being such a combat-centric survival horror, these shortcomings keep it from being one of the best of the year. [Review in Progress]- Malditos Nerds

After a year in Early Access, Unrailed is a party game that challenges us to keep a little train rolling towards the next station, having to craft and place the rails on the go. The game offers the option to play single player, but it’s clear the game’s strong point relies on its multiplayer experience. [Early Access Score = 80]- Malditos Nerds
