Following up on an already excellent game like Doom 2016 is no easy task. Doom Eternal however, manages to kick it's precursor on all counts. The world is more engaging and varied in design. The monsters are rawer and bloodier while the weapons are more imaginative and have tons of modifications. Too bad that we also have to build our character in a role-playing like mode and are forced to watch the uninteresting story. It slows down an otherwise near excellent adrenaline-filled rush of a game.- M3

Like a Dragon: Ishin! delivers some excellent samurai action, with a story harkening back to Kurosawa, but there are a few thorns in your side. The game could have benefited of being more remade, the graphics in particular stand out as not quite up to date. There is almost too much side content to take on, I would have preferred fewer but more developed sidestories. Overall though, it’s a really good game that offers many hours of entertainment.- M3

Gravity Rush 2 is a colorful, cheerful and action packed adventure that does not look nor play like anything else. The camera and controls will take some time to get used to and may annoy at times, but overall Gravity Rush 2 is a very polished and enjoyable experience.- M3

Zombies, survival elements and a brutal combat system is a great foundation. Moreover, with advanced control and detailed environments, The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners is a top VR-game in most regards. The fact that Playstation VR and the old Move controls are capable of such an advanced game is impressive, even though some necessary compromises are hard to ignore.- M3

With its fast and fun action, Returnal can look like a cool sci-fi game where tons of enemies turn into colorful explosions at a fast pace. That is also how it feels for a while, until we die. And die and die again. Everything wants to kill us and when we die, we must start all over again – without most of the items, weapons, and enhancements we had collected. It is frustrating, yet we can not wait to restart immediately. We want to keep exploring the sinister world, we want keep fighting against all the horrible creatures – and most of all we want to understand what is happening to Selene. The unforgiving setup will probably divide people, but for anyone with an interest in sci-fi – this is a gem.- M3

Mortal Kombat 11 Aftermath is a modern take on the "Game of the Year" collections that are common in the fighting genre. It has excellent new additions to the character roster and an even more twisted story. Adding that to the already existing content makes this package one of the most complete fighting games.- M3

51 Worldwide games is one of the most complete mini-game collections available today. Card games and classic table games blend nicely with the more action-packed ones, such as bowling and air hockey. Thus, we have always something that is suitable for all occasions and that also utilizes the Switch console's different modes of play. In addition this digital collection also is much easier to transport comparing to their physical counterparts.- M3

Fifa 22 for the new generation of consoles is a big step forward for both the series and Electronic Arts. The realism is more noticeable this time, while the ball game on the field is more convincing. Sure, there are occasional misses in places, but for the most part, everything from animations to collisions feels completely worthy of the epithet "next generation".- M3

In Hot Wheels Unleashed you get to drive, jump and slide around creative and demanding tracks. The races are short and intense, and the toy cars feels great to control. The gameplay lacks a bit variation though, and sometimes a second of bad luck can destroy all chances of winning a race. At its best though, Hot Wheels Unleashed can compete with timeless classics such as Ridge Racer 7, Micro Machines V3 and F-Zero GX.- M3

On the pitch, PES 2018 is almost as good as it gets. Fluid mechanics, jaw-dropping goalscoring and real precision in the controls make for thrilling matches and spinning highlight reels. Too bad the old flaws are still there – licenses are sparse and the commentary horrendous. If you can look past the errors, this is a must-buy for football fanatics.- M3

The first thing you should do in Project Cars 2 is to forget about the career mode. Instead you should go to Custom Race, choose a car that is fun to drive, pick a favorite track and mess around with the comprehensive race settings. After that you should just put the pedal to the metal and enjoy one of the best driving games ever.- M3

Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition is an enhanced version of a 10-year-old Nintendo Wii classic. While it is debatable whether all the upgrades are significant enough, the enhancements we do get are very noticeable. But above all, we get to revisit a rpg that, if you can forgive some outdated aspects, is still one of the best the genre has to offer.- M3

Super Mario Odyssey introduces several new gameplay mechanics to a beloved series, and delivers a colorful adventure that oozes with fun and nostalgia. It looks, sounds and plays just as great as expected, but the collection of power moons can sometimes feel a bit like a chore.- M3

Aer: Memories of Old is not a game in which your mind and reflexes will be challenged. Nor does it offer any surprising events or intense action. Instead, it is mostly a calm experience where we are more than happy to fly around, take in environments and music - and just relax.- M3

Spyro Reignited Trilogy might be noticeably worse on Nintendo Switch compared to the other versions of the game, but the port is still mighty impressive overall. If you value portable gaming, there is nothing to consider; this is the version to get. But if you mainly plan to play on the TV and have a Playstation 4 or Xbox One, you will get a better experience on those consoles.- M3

Clubs and spears instead of firearms, and mammoths instead of cars. Far Cry Primal is a well-made and interesting take on the Far Cry formula, but in the end it just is not as good as the third and fourth installment.- M3

A port of last years Wolfenstein II to the Nintendo Switch seemed like an impossible task, but Panic Button has exceeded our expectations. Sure, there are some massive downgrades regarding the graphics, but the core gameplay is pretty much intact. The main problem is that the other versions of the game are so much better, but if you want a portable first person shooter this might be the best one yet.- M3

It’s better than its predecessor, but The Crew 2 never really reaches its potential – mainly due to some underwhelming level design and a badly written story. However, in the end, The Crew 2 is an entertaining game, and a good choice for those who are looking for a racing game with big variation.- M3

Regalia: Of Men and Monarchs is a light-hearted tactical role-playing game that is easy to learn yet challenging to complete. Even though the combat system and story could have used a bit more depths, the beautiful hand-painted graphics, well-written characters and enjoyable battles makes it is an impressive debut for the studio.- M3

Despite some strange and frustrating features, Need for Speed Payback gives you challenging races in a world that is surprisingly relaxing to explore. Although Forza Horizon 2 and 3 offer a similar but more refined experience, Ghost Games has included enough unique features to make their latest title feel like something more than a pale copy.- M3

With over 50 games on the roster Sega Mega Drive Classics has something for most retro fans. Granted most of the games have already been seen in older collections and the emulation is not always perfect, but the ability to quick save and especially rewind is a game changer. Even though some will call it cheating, the ability to undo mistakes makes the classic games much more accessible and enjoyable than ever before.- M3

NHL 20 is a good hockey game that would have been even better if it had more new and brave features. EA is taking the comfortable road again this year, and frankly we're starting to get a little tired of that approach.- M3

Astral Chain is a different take on Platinum Games action formula and deserves a chance if you're a fan of their previous work. Although the battles never quite reach the same level of finesse and variety as in Bayonetta, there are still a occasions in the game that come close. The interaction between our character and its Legion is the big draw, but unfortunately there are times when we are forced to fight without it. Half of the times because our Legion attacks straight on, the other half because we ourselves fumble around with the right stick. But if you have plenty of patience, Astral Chain works superbly at least until it's time for Bayonetta 3.- M3
