Developer Roll7 delivers a sequel that makes the original unattractive and boring in comparison. With an awesome art style, great level design and the inclusion of manuals this game is a blast to play.

Type-0 is a darker and more bloodier game than Final Fantasy use to be, and for the most part it’s a good thing. Unfortunately the many side quests can make you feel a bit stressful. Overall Type-0 is a game that we hope to see more of in the future.

Sid Meier's Starships is a strategy game for those that really don’t have the time it takes to learn complex mechanic. Sadly it’s lacking a good AI and feels a bit unpolished at the same time.

Cities Skylines borrow the best parts from Sim City, cuts the price tag by half and at the same time fixes the flaws from Maxis game. In short terms: this is the best city planning game we have seen over the past decade.

Mario Party 10 is a fun but very safe installment in the long running Mario Party series. Most of the minigames will entertain, but it is a missed opportunity and plain lazy to not use the Wii U gamepad in a more meaningful way.

With beautiful scenery and a simple yet warm story Ori and the Blind Forest offers an unforgettable experience. The controls could be a tad better and the gameplay does not really offer anything new, but it is still a welcome and successful addition to a genre that has become somewhat forgotten in recent years.

Hotline Miami 2 may not be as perfect as its precursor, but the mechanics is still one of the best in the genre. Besides, the soundtrack is probably worth the price of its own.

Bloodborne offers countless hours of entertainment, and comes with an even darker tone than the Souls series. It may take some time to get used to, but in the end this is one of the best Playstation 4 games so far and a milestone for the action genre.

At a first glance Helldivers might look simplistic and repetitive, but it does not take long before you realize how deep and enjoyable the core mechanics are. If you want an easy to understand yet challenging cooperative shooter, you cannot do better than Helldivers.

The definitive edition of DMC offers 60 fps and 1080p, a most welcome contribution to the game. In any other ways this is a version that doesn’t feel new in any way. The graphics looks outdated and the gameplay comes a bit short compared to Bayonetta 2. It is a pretty good game even today, but it isn’t without flaws.

With a new tower defence mode and a pretty entertaining appearance by the snowmen Valley of the Yetis manage to bring something new into the Far Cry series. Sadly the world is a bit dull, and the story is poorly written.

Scream Ride seeks to deliver the ultimate thrill in the shape of a larger than life roller coaster game. However it is not from the ride itself that the game delivers its value. With Scream Rides heavy lean on simulated physics, the most fun is had in the game's demolition-mode. Blowing thing up really feels good and at the end of the day leaves you wanting more.

The second episode of Revelations 2 offers a bit more action than the first one, and is not quite as good. Barry Burton is a pretty boring character and the setting isn’t that interesting. Still, it is a title that every Resident Evil fan should take a closer look at.

Dragon Ball games have had a steady downward trend for several years now. But with Xenoverse the series makes a great debut on the new consoles, with fun and accessible battles. There is still plenty of room for improvements, but it is a good start nonetheless.

Super Stardust Ultra is the third and best iteration of the Super Stardust series. It is not a big step up from the Playstation 3 version, but the improved controls, better 3d and some added game modes makes it worth a double-dip for fans. If you have not played it before you should give it a try now.

Resident Evil is finally back! Well, almost anyway. The first episode of Revelations 2 is a step away from the action spectacle that was Resident Evil 6. Instead it feels like a cheaper version of Resident Evil 4, with a real interesting story and well written characters.

Sunless Sea is in many ways a real stunning adventure, that dare to be original. Unfortunately the pacing feels a bit slow, and the dialogues aren’t that existing. Still, it’s a good choice for the hardcore adventures, that seeks something new.

Ace Combat: Assault Horizon Legacy Plus is a well made and entertaining flight action game. The only problem is that it is almost exactly the same game that was released three years ago, which means it is a relaunch of a three-year old game where the most notable addition is a higher price tag.

The formula of Monster Hunter is still intact in the latest version. It is not a conventional role playing game with distinct leveling, it puts more emphasis on the progression of the player itself. Depending on one's preferences, the high difficulty is either entertaining or frustrating. The worthless camera will however make everyone unnecessarily angry.

An entertaining, safe and a bit dull conclusion to the Total War-series Roman trilogy. The news that comes in the form of nomadic people and focus on the use of fire is fun but otherwise it's mostly the same as in previous games. Unfortunately it also reflects on the AI, long loading times and a menu system that slows down the experience. Nevertheless it's a reliable investment for loyal fans of the series.

There's not something major wrong with Evolve, but it suffers from similar faults as Left 4 Dead did. Basically it's a title with a strong focus on collaboration, but which fails to vary its concept enough to make it entertaining in the long run. Evolve will probably get better when the players becomes more familiar with the characters. Right now it has a ways to go.

Apotheon includes all the ingredients for a great adventure in a true metroidvania-spirit. The theme of Greek mythology is rare in games, still it fits pretty good. The controls and the game mechanics is sometimes a bit complicated but offers at the same time rich variety. Probably the best metroidvania this year.

The Order: 1886 doesn't do much to bring anything new to the already well known formula in high budget games, but it delivers a really interesting world and a well written story. For those of you that have waited for a cinematic game with high production values for Playstation 4, this is a really good choice.

Majora’s Mask has aged with dignity. In fact it almost feels even better today, when Nintendo have failed to refresh the Zelda series for quite some time. The concept with the time pressure can be a bit stressful for newcomers, but after a while it really opens up and gives you both an interesting world and a well-written story.

Japanese art in the shape of a pop up-book combined with semi-challenging puzzles did seem quite appealing, based on screenshots. But in spite a wonderfully atmospheric soundtrack and all the creativity the visuals boast, Tengami falls a little bit short. The game is completed within two hours, similar to That game company's modern classic Journey. But what it lacks is a sense of progression and a reason to play. Also, there isn't enough content - just when you think you will finally start experiencing the game, it ends. A shame really, but as both music and graphics are stunning, it is at least a good work of interactive art.

The HD Edition of Heroes of Might & Magic III introduces some graphical improvements but lacks the modernized user interface introduced to the original game through mods. It is still as enjoyable and time-consuming as ever but for those not opting for the Ios version the Complete Edition has the better content value.

Gunman Clive 2 is a traditional sequel. As with its predecessor, the stages are short, but intense. The graphics uses more color, but the platforming has also changed properly. Traces of both Super Mario Galaxy and Uncharted are able to spot. With just a little more experimenting could Gunman Clive 2 have been an unforgettable gem.

Life is Strange oozes potential. The female portraits are unexpectedly fresh, the basic concept originally formulated by Telltale still excites and the rewind mechanic is interesting. At the same time, it is also the game's biggest weakness, because it diminishes the impact of the choices made. Nevertheless it will still be exciting to follow the rest of the season.
