Team Ninja has overcome the inevitable comparisons with Souls' series, with a game that shines on its own right. Diverse and enjoyable combat mechanics, great setting and that characteristic difficulty of the studio's games, Nioh is a strong candidate for one of the best games of 2017.

Frostpunk will test our strategy skills like no other real-time strategy game can do. 4 maps to explore, freedom to rule the city, several types of buildings to build and hard choices to make create a unique experience among the strategy genre. 11 bit studios keeps taking risks and developing games that make us think about our own values.

XCOM 2 launches on PS4 with the same strength and virtues as its PC counterpart did less than a year ago. It's an evolution of XCOM: Enemy Unknown, but with a harmony in each of every new mechanic that further enhances the positive aspects of the first game. A must for every strategy, turn based combat fan out there.

Injustice 2 follows the path of previous NetherRealm games and offers a solid title, with a flashy lineup of DC characters and enough content for both single-player and multiplayer. Gear system is quite interesting, although only future will tell if it creates a schism in the community. Technically amazing, with a short but intense story mode and gameplay mechanics which are accessible but hard to master, this Gods Among Us sequel is one of the great fighting games of this generation.

This title draws a quiet and reflective journey, in a beautiful and mysterious island. That's just what we wanted to we perceive ourselves intelligent.

Final Fantasy VII Remake is a fresh start for a franchise that wasn't living up to fans' expectations on the last installments. A challenging combat system, charismatic characters and a plot that surprise in every chapter are the foundations of this ambitious project. Square Enix not only fulfill a promise made years ago; the team also expanded the world of FFVII beyond our expectations.

Rocksteady knows what to do with Batman, and brings us another superb game. Batmobile's addition could have been better, as well as some moments with some of the Dark Knight's legendary foes. However, there's no other current-gen, open world action game as exciting as Batman: Arkham Knight.

This reboot is as big as the original Tomb Raider was back in the day, but with a distinct personality, something essential if she wants to become a staple within the same genre she dominated for years.

There is so much to discover in Wolfenstein II. Collectibles, endgame missions and Nazi troops destruction. MachineGames has managed to create a superior sequel in every aspect. Plot and gameplay mechanics of The New Colossus entertain, and keeps you playing for hours, with that B series tone that knows what it should look like and isn't scared to put you in bizarre situations that seem to be written by someone who has a few screws loose. Not perfect, but will have its place among the best FPS games of this generation.
