Berserk and the Band of Hawk could have been the new Dragon Quest Heroes or Hyrule Warriors. Even if they were far from perfect, those two wanted to do something modern with classic musou gameplay. Instead, Berserk falls in the same category than Fist of the North Star.

Halo Wars is a pretty good RTS which clearly targets the newbie player by offering plenty of modes that don't require to manage the economy. While the Halo side will appeal to the fans of the IP, the game is pretty much the only RTS available on consoles today. We doubt PC players will go for it as there are many better alternatives.

In spite of a solo mode which is a big tutorial, For Honor is a very good multiplayer game with a strong gameplay and solid graphics, which should ensure it has a brilliant future in online competitive play.

Known for the Killzone IP, Guerrilla Games has created a masterpiece in Horizon: Zero Dawn with its unique universe, its massive and rich open-world and its gorgeous graphics.

After a few main episodes and some zombie spin offs, Rebellion has got it and makes Sniper Elite 4 one of the best sniping/infiltration games around. It might even get some new players aboard the IP.

Tales of Berseria inherits some of the problems and qualities from the previous entries: it's a 00's game from a technical point of view, but it's got a very deep fighting system. The most notable difference comes from Velvet and the darkness that surround her. At least, Bandai Namco managed to create an outstanding heroine.

Road to Boruto is a very good ending to the Naruto Shippuden Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 saga that will please fans thanks to it's fidelity to the movie. On the downside, the story is a bit short and you can't play Kinshiki nor Momoshiki.

Much easier and down on the graphical standpoint too, Poochy & Yoshi's Wooly World is still a very good platformer game, even if it's aimed at a younger audience hence the addition of Poochy, a good pup that helps the player around with combat and discovering secrets. The genuine game on Wii U is the one to go for, but if you only own the portable console, Poochy & Yoshi's Wooly World is still a safe bet.

Like many other indie games, Diluvion is packed with great ideas but suffers from a lack of polish and budget, to the point where we would have loved to see it as a triple A game.

Despite its ugly visuals, NioH is quite an appealing game thanks to it's incredibly hardcore difficulty. Clearly aimed at masochists, the game will delight gamers in search of the toughest challenge, but it won't impress with its story.

The players who never finished or even tried Dream Drop Distance on Nintendo 3DS will find this Kingdom Hearts 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue very enjoyable. The others could be disappointed and will struggle to justify the pricetag.

Resident Evil 7 is a horror masterpiece. The graphics look amazing and you feel scared throughout the entire game. Last thing: only the most courageous will play the PlayStation VR version.

Gravity Rush was one of the best games of the PS Vita, Gravity Rush 2 makes a great start on PS4. In spite of a very common story and a poor camera, this second entry manages to be deeper, with a lot of new possibilities in the fights, and more gorgeous, thanks to the extra power of the console.

The best of Yakuza Zero is actually not the part you're playing, but the part you're watching. It can seem harsh, but that's a feeling you can't deny as the former is far from being as good as the latter. It's still a great storyline though and the game developers have the talent to make it alive.

Dragon Quest VIII 3D is every bit as good as the genuine PS2 game with a huge life and an awesome OST. The new features like the ability to speedup the fights are a welcome touch that will surely attract a younger audience.

Space Hulk: Deathwing is a pure merch product. The fans of Game Workshop's IP will like it for the universe, but the more mainstream gamer will just find a poorly made FPS.

If the content is getting lighter from the Wii U version, Super Mario maker 3DS is still a great game that challenges the player with a lot of stages, but we would have loved to be able to share our creations on internet.

Steep is a very good game for adrenaline junkies and pow addicts in every way. For gamers, the answer is less clear as a good gameplay and a vast open world don't compensate the lack of a clear goal to achieve.

Dead Rising 4 is disappointing on several levels, but above all, it's hard not to stress that the IP seems to reach some solid boundaries. It's maybe time for Capcom to let it rest for some time.

With a lot of content, God Eater 2 : Rage Burst is a very good Action-RPG game, but it heavily suffers from it's visuals. Looks like it's a PS Vita Port with a few HD textures thrown at it.

Silence is a great follow-up to the Sadwick's Chronicles: Whispered World with a great story and awesome visuals. The gameplay is quite simple with easy enigmas and a short lifespan, but those drawbacks are nothing in comparison with the game's qualities.

Robinson: The Journey should have been Crytek's VR Jurassic Park. If the world is amazing and the game offers a decent experience with about 7-8h of gameplay, the lack of dinosaurs and interactions spoils the fun. This clearly calls for a second opus.

Pokémon Sun & Moon are a glorious try to change the ancient recipe of the Game Freak series. The game can be seen as more straightforward but this makes the narrative part and the screenplay only better. And Alola is a great new region to discover.

Built upon the same cradle as many other rhythm games, Thumper is one of the best experiences we've had this year. Feeling a bit like Audiosurf, the game pushes the player to go beyond everything he knows about his reflexes, while being hypnotized by the greatness of the soundtrack/visuals combination.
