Although not terrible, Ultimate Spiderman is not the ultimate action game. Bogged down by tedious missions, a confusing plot and predictable boss characters you might want to rent this before you buy.

Even though Nightlife fits seamlessly into the Sims universe it just doesn’t seem like sufficient extra content has been included in the expansion. It feels as though Nightlife is more about expanding on what you already have instead of giving you more to work with.

In terms of what the expansion offers, I would say it has 2 good new character types and a very good expanded single player experience. If you are a fan of the original Sacred, you should definitely spend some time with this.

Our test team had one little niggle about the play diagrams. We would have loved to see detailed explanations of the plays, perhaps even with animations. It can be daunting for newcomers to see the arcane drawings - the lines, the symbols, the quirky names - and then have to understand and employ them effectively.

Lock-on will mature as more patches are released and it could well become one of the great flight sims but with the initial problems it's made this a tough game to score. It's a shame the Q&A process failed this game, it would have been better if the developers had just held off and the Beta testers had got off their backsides and spotted some of the more nasty bugs.
