Splatoon 3 may not have reinvented the wheel, but the improvements made to existing mechanics make this entry feel even more incredible to play than I could have imagined.

The very best minigames and boards throughout the Mario Party series have been brought together and recreated for some truly hilarious good times. While I wish there were even more boards to choose from, the game is still plenty of fun whether you're playing locally with friends or online with others.

Thanks to gorgeously updated visuals, noteworthy quality of life changes, and an official global release for the first time ever, Live A Live stands confidently as the quintessential RPG anthology. Even 25 years later, these powerfully human stories poignantly represent the inadequacies we all endure.

For a horror, this is an oddly beautiful game filled with gorgeous scenes and amazing detail. Even though it is a sequel, it gives it's own interesting storyline that matches the original without being a copy.

Super Mario 3D World is a fun game whether you're playing solo or with others. The controls have been updated to work perfectly on Switch and the added Bowser's Fury standalone is just the cherry on top to make this port perfect. It's definitely worth your while.

This is an absolute must have for fans of the franchise, but also a fantastic game for those new to the series. Multiplayer and crossplay both work incredibly well, and offering both an inexpensive full version and a free lite version means everyone can play together, regardless of their device or budget.

With its weapon customization, multiple game modes, and quick load times, Catalyst Black is a fun online multiplayer to experience with friends. There are in-game purchases, but they aren't necessary to enjoy the game.

Strong gameplay, visuals and audio propel Metroid Dread to be the best 2D game in the series, though dated map design and lack of accessibility bring the experience down a bit.

Despite its drab locations and weak visuals, Pokémon Legends: Arceus is a breath of fresh air. It shifts focus away from gyms and the Pokémon League to focus solely on survival and the thrill of the hunt. Have fun gathering materials, crafting your own Poké Balls, and capturing or defeating Pokémon in ways we haven't seen before.

Overcooked! All You Can Eat is a great multi-player experience with cross-platform play that serves up plenty of content for hours of crazy fun. However, this game is made for too many cooks in the kitchen, and it does have a few technical issues that keep it from being top chef.

Gameloft managed to take a pop-culture classic and breathe new life into a game that's been around since before I was born. If you have any nostalgia for the original, The Oregon Trail is likely going to feel very familiar but also offer a new way of experiencing such a classic title, but you don't need nostalgia to enjoy the game — it's that fun.

Mario's Rabbid spin-off sequel does an incredible job building upon the fun foundation of the original game while providing new and engaging elements we haven't seen before. The silly interactions, overworld puzzles, and satisfying strategic battles make it a title you definitely want to have in your library.

While there are some visual issues and style choices that can be off-putting, the game overall looks great. You can also avoid some of the hassle of grinding by racking up items and money while you and your Switch are sleeping. Just make sure to swing by town regularly to pick up your rewards and set your characters exploring again. Fans of old school RPGs will love Bravely Default 2 but others might be better off picking up something a little more daring.

Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity is a fun game, heavy on the action and not so much on the story. The gameplay loop is consistent, and plowing through hundreds of enemies as your favorite Champion is rewarding. I just wish that the story wasn't so underwhelming. I'd love to see the Zelda series continue to take chances and expand what can be done with these characters. I believe a compelling narrative is just under the surface, and I hope to see it in the next game. Until then, I'll be racking up my kill count on the fields of Hyrule.

Pikmin 3 Deluxe is the best way to experience Pikmin 3. Tons of minor changes make the game more accessible, and the new content adds a couple of hours to the short main campaign. Still, the game is largely the same game that appeared on the WiiU, from its colorful visuals to gameplay.

With its updated elements, fun gameplay, and linear plot Skyward Sword HD is a major improvement from the original Wii game. However, it's still got plenty of flaws. Still, if you're a Zelda fan, you ought to check it out. Save the world from evil while meeting a colorful and quirky cast of characters.
