FIFA 21 delivers solid and fun gameplay, introducing a lot of small new features in the structure build in the last two years. Even if FUT is always bigger and louder, the best things this year come from Career mode and plain multiplayer mode, where everything flows with a slower and human tempo.

Ride 4 is one of the best motorcycle racing games ever. Visually great and superb in terms of handling, Milestone did a great job delivering a fantastic experience on the track. The career is a little bit underwhelming in terms of design, but the game is still great to play.

A nice way to celebrate an all-time classic, Super Mario Bros. 35 successfully implements some kind of battle royale using a very familiar gameplay.

A love message for Crash Bandicoot's old fans. The new look is great, but at times the difficulty needs to be balanced.

Hades is a contender for one of the best roguelikes in recent years. The extraordinary magnetism that surrounds him, the desire that instills in the player to try relentlessly, maybe even just to read the umpteenth sarcastic comment of the deity on duty, are very valuable features. Supergiant Games' tricks in outlining every little detail of his creature are children of a true and palpable passion. Rare merchandise these days, which no player should miss.

Serious Sam 4 keeps its promises and turns out to be a more than average old-fashioned shooter, but don’t expect a great deal of innovation, variety or excellent graphics.

Similar to Super Smash Bros. but much easier and with a very simplistic fighting system.

The return of Battletoads is a game in many ways surprising and made with extreme care. But the desire to do too much makes him lose his lucidity and ends up watering down an adventure that is too short in itself.

A good trading simulation... and little else, really. Port Royale 4's weak combat system and repetitive gameplay make for a somewhat boring, if functional and honest, strategy game.

Mafia: Definitive Edition is a clever, stylish and faithful remake of a cult game, which 18 years later, is still powerful lesson of how to tell a story in an open world. Hangar 13 did a great job rebuilding the city and the atmosphere with a modern touch, the story is still great and compelling, while the gameplay sometimes feels a little bit too old.

A beautiful piece of craftsmanship. Spelunky 2 is all a sequel should be: polished, refined, bigger. A game of learning, a game of death, a game of emergent beautiful gameplay. Every second in this game is pure art: it will frustrate you, but in a positive way in which you will shout at the TV and then smile and retry. Just to die again, until you learn enough.

A remastered version that improves some graphics aspects of the original and preserves its gameplay, but is plagued by poor optimization and suffers bad framerates even on the most powerful hardware.

A good tennis simulation that, despite a few flaws and frustrating controls, has managed to achieve a much better result than the original game.

It is always said that games must be judged for what they are and not for what we would like them to be: Star Renegade is a strange mix of strategy and jrpg, all under the umbrella of the roguelite-genre that ends up delimiting, and partly limiting, all the best aspects of the game. I could not stop thinking, at each run, that a normal campaign, even a short one, would have benefited the pace of the game and could make all the mechanics make it shine at their best.

Not a bad expansion but not even a very good one, Peril on Gorgon can be an enjoyable return to the Halcyon colony for those that can't wait to play some more of The Outer World. For everyone else, it may be better to just wait for a sale... or the next DLC.

With its perfect controls and its intriguing mechanics, OkunoKA Madness is a love letter to all recent high-precision platforms, like Slip, The End is Nigh and Super Meat Boy. A true hardcore platform, with a lovely speedrunning twist that guides the player in a deep loop of tries and learning. A very good take, despite some too frustrating levels.

The Sims 4 Star Wars: Journey to Batuu is definitely the perfect DLC for Star Wars and The Sims lovers. You don't want to miss it.
