If you love Marvel's comics and are looking for an open-world action game full of spectacular moments and combat, then Marvel's Spider-Man 2 is definitely the perfect game for you.

Pharaoh is a solid new entry in the Total War series, although it lacks some ambition. If all you wanted was some fun playing as a general in a Bronze Age setting, you'd probably be satisfied here, but if you were waiting for the next big thing, you'd have to wait a bit more.

While not reinventing genre mechanics, Cocoon is an intriguing puzzle game that immerses the player in an introspective journey through spheres that encompass entire worlds within them. Despite being notably simple, it offers well-constructed enigmas and a remarkably well-balanced learning curve. It doesn't reach the expressive heights of titles like Journey but represents a significant advancement in Carlsen's games, inviting the players to reflect on themselves and the worlds they've created. Highly recommended.

A highly recommended game for Fate fans, despite some flaws and excessive verbosity.

Detective Pikachu: The Return only works as a large and varied "Pokémon container," but as a detective adventure it will only be able to give some satisfaction to the youngest players.

Assassin's Creed Mirage offers a gaming experience that all in all works and entertains without much pretension, although it does not allow the series to take any major step forward.

Good old FIFA, but bigger, better, smoother. It's underwhelming that EA Sports didn't go for a brand new experience for the debut of their "new IP", but at the same time FC 24 is a good game. On the structure of FIFA 23, EA Sports builds a series of improvements that increase the variety of the experience and introduce a compelling sense of uncertainty in the gameplay action. Very nice note: the management career is one of the best single player modes in years in the series.

Fun and spectacular, Payday 3 marks a decent return of the Payday gang by offering refined gameplay and several new features that are also quite interesting. However, the various positive aspects, such as the possibility of swapping hostages and completing most robberies silently, are contrasted by a small number of missions and a progression system that is too slow.

Mortal Kombat 1 leans on a robust story (with solid foundations, but with a less than impeccable development) and a couple of other single player modes capable of entertaining for several hours – and even more, if NetherRealm Studios is able to properly exploit the seasonal system. The addition of kameo fighters and the focus on aerial combos leaves more room for the player's creativity compared to the previous chapter, with the assists of the secondary fighters breaking up and altering the rhythm of the matches in a positive way.

A fitting conclusion to the Golden Idol saga, this DLC includes three new interesting cases and a pair of new mechanics.

Starfield is an incredibly ambitious game that hits almost every target it is aimed at. If you love space, science, and the undeniable spirit for discovery innate in every human being, you will love this game.

Phantom Liberty is a good expansion that adds an intriguing storyline filled with memorable characters and that, together with the 2.0 version, manages to also improve the gameplay, adding new features and changing existing ones that help Cyberpunk come closer to what we were promised years ago.

A surprisingly deep gameplay and occasionally brutal difficulty make Gunbrella an enticing game worthy of attention if someone is in search of something unique and retro.

Sea of Stars is a proper homage to old-school RPGs, thanks to a splendid pixel art and a combat system that, while not fully expressing its potential, refreshes the concept of the turn-based system.

With its abundance of playable content and a very attractive setting such as the island of Oʻahu, The Crew Motorfest attempts to chase the success of Forza Horizon 5 by proposing the same structure proposed by the racing game developed by Playground Games. The result is all in all positive, although Ivory Tower's gaming experience fails to stand out for originality or being qualitatively flawless.

Goodbye Volcano High is a story of growth, friendship and love and how all these things, already great when taken individually, become giants when mixed together. Thanks to intelligent game mechanics, the story progresses forcefully by affirming the identity of its protagonists while allowing the player to make crucial choices, while the soundtrack (which ended up straight among my favorites on loop) is much more of an accompaniment: it’s a co-protagonist, who embodies the anxieties, fears and dreams of this ramshackle gang of friends, dealing with nothing less than an apocalypse.

Lies of P is one of the biggest surprises of 2023. Moody, gothic, bloody, and fast-paced, Neowiz first action RPG is a little gem, and even if it's not on par with FromSoftware best works, it's still one of the best soulslike games of the last few years. "Pinocchio meets Bloodborne" is a concept about as weird as it's compelling, and luckily Neowiz delivered with an interesting story, smooth combat and terrific musics. It's a little unpolished around the edges, and it lacks optional bosses and secret areas, but it's still a strong starting point for a new series.

Samba de Amigo: Party Central will capture you with its simple yet efficient gameplay, enriched by new enjoyable features.

Despite some shortcomings in "human" relationships with NPCs and an even lower than expected challenge rate, Fae Farm is an excellent exponent of the genre thanks in part to the magic element and the emphasis on exploration.

Trine 5: A Clockwork Conspiracy does not propose anything truly innovative for the series, but what Frozenbyte proposes is solid enough and the small innovations are still pleasing.

A recommended appointment for those who have enjoyed the previous episodes of the series in the past, but it probably remains an all too simplistic and self-referential product for the simply curious players.

Baldur's Gate III is not entirely without flaws, and they tend to become more noticeable in the game's last act (especially when it comes down to optimization), but none of that change the fact that we are dealing with a CRPG masterpiece and Larian's crowning achievement after an already long and quite successful career. Weather you are a returning fan or a new one, there is almost no reason to not give this one a go, if you are passionate about computer role-playing games.

Mediterranea Inferno is a well-written visual novel that deals with adult themes in an honest, courageous, sometimes painful way, showing the experience of the pandemic from different points of view and able to reflect critically on contemporaneity. What is striking is Redaelli's ability to mix different expressive codes, combining Japanese aesthetics with Italian figurative art in order to evoke images capable of giving concreteness to symbols and allegories. At times it seems that the subtext has overtaken the text, making certain passages of the narrative somewhat instrumental to the reflection that follows, rather than the other way around, but all in all this is fine, because the storytelling works and leads to unexpected twists.

Nice setting and premise mostly wasted on a game that would have needed more development time and refinement to fulfill its potential.

An interesting musical role-playing game, well written and excellently acted but with a little too much carelessness on the aesthetic side and songs not always memorable.

Remnant 2 takes up the good work done by its predecessor, expanding it, improving it in almost every aspect and smoothing out the rough edges.
