The Banner Saga is a very unique game - an excellent mix of cRPG and tactical battles with a compelling story, interesting characters and wonderful, cartoonish graphics. It's definitely not a game for everyone, but fans of complex stories will be overjoyed. And in case they are fans of Scandinavian hero stories and love sad fables as well, The Banner Saga is a must buy.

While exploring Freedom Cry I felt that the money was well spent - it's without a doubt the best and the biggest DLC in the history of Assassin's Creed series. You need to approach Adewale's adventures without too much seriousness, and Freedom Cry will surely meet your expectations. The end result is this - if you really liked Black Flag, you simply have to buy this expansion.

You should definitely pay attention to Gran Turismo 6, even though there's a new PlayStation on the market. GT6 may not have some key features present in the previous installment, but right now it's the most versatile, rich and interesting console racing game. There are some minor issues, but all in all, it will keep you entertained for dozens of hours (mainly due to tons of content and a great new driving model). It's a worthy farewell to the PS3.

Zero Sum Games has created a worthy addition to the 4X genre. What is more - modders are already creating more and more cool modifications for StarDrive. Ergonomics and gameplay rules should be more user-friendly, but the game itself is far from boring or tiresome. 4X fans will be pleased.

Professional Farmer 2014 is not a dream come true for lovers of managing a virtual farm. It has to many simplifications, strange solutions and technical issues, and too few new ideas. Extreme fans of this genre should be satisfied for a while, but in the long run this game is simply really boring.

Forza Motorsport 5 is a truly great game burdened with very bad marketing choices. It has an excellent driving model and superb graphics, but lack of some basic elements and the publisher's greed, that makes gamers pay lots of extra money for something that should be free, are really serious flaws. In case this extra content is made available for free, I will happily modify my opinion.

If you don't like playing online, don't buy Shadow Fall just yet - either wait for a serious discount or forget about it entirely. The game isn't worth buying just for the campaign, which turns out to be poorly designed, kind of boring, uneven and unoriginal. New Killzone is really pretty, but its biggest asset is a well designed, engrossing multiplayer mode.

Ryse: Son of Rome is a perfect launch title - it's easy, understandable and extremely pretty. But is it a good game, worth a considerable amount of your money? Not entirely - for instance, you can complete Ryse in a few hours without a sweat. Still - I liked it, but remember: if not for my huge hunger for the new generation, I would wait until the game's price drops. A lot.

From the very outset there are different play-styles offered up, including co-op if you fancy it: Capcom Vancouver want this to be your experience, and while it does stutter from time to time, this is a game well worth playing, so long as you can stomach the B-movie acting and gore.

The next-gen incarnation of FIFA 14 doesn't offer anything really new except the Ignite engine. EA Sports has improved a really good football game, and right now it is excellent. Animations and object collisions aren't funny anymore, and controlling the ball (even though harder than before) is even closer to the real thing. FIFA 14 on the PS4 looks and feels like watching a real game on your TV.

After months of tests World of Warplanes still looks unfinished. Gameplay balance allows for enjoyable matches with machines up to level V, an old engine delivers mostly choppy framerate even on powerful machines and the game itself isn't easy or accessible. The developers have a long way ahead of them to create a truly great aviation online shooter. Right now the game is only "ok".

This SimCity expansion freshens up the concept of building a metropolis, adds new buildings and solutions, but the game itself is still the same - well known and questionable mechanisms still rule, the building area is too small and some engine errors can irritate all the same. If you've been satisfied with SimCity, you should be happy with this expansion. If you want bigger and more complex changes, you won't find them here.

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes is a good game that generates a lot of fun. Unfortunately in comparison with two previous LEGO games it doesn't look that great. This "brick Marvel" is one of the best recent superhero games, but at the same time is a mediocre "LEGO platformer" game. Comic book fans should be pleased with Traveller's Tales' effort, but LEGO fans should keep playing The Lord of the Rings.

The Stanley Parable doesn't pack a punch as great as Portal did, but my time in the office turned out to be very enjoyable. Galactic Cafe has made one of the best parodies ever, a game that is funny, and makes fun of other games with style. You should definitely try it out, because it's a very original product that doesn't pretend to be your friend. All of this doesn't matter, because it's just a game. But what a game it is!

Rocksmith isn't really a game the same way Guitar Hero is. It's more of a complex educational software that uses the look of a video game for better motivation. You could easily use YouTube videos and Guitar Pro tabs instead - and thousands of self-taught guitarists do. Fortunately putting everything in one place and using nice game-like graphics create a product that motivates better than any "usual" software does.

Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition has a similar problem to the previous installment: it has to compete against lots of free mods. Fortunately the developers have learned a thing or two and now the game has longer, more complex missions and some clever technical novelties. It's still a game for older, more hardcore gamers, but it's important to appreciate the fact, that Enhanced Edition finally offers a lot more than any free mod does.

NFS Rivals consciously relates to Hot Pursuit, but at the same time is a better, bigger game with superb graphics. Sure, there are some flaws, especially in the PC version, and the game is all but original. But even when you take these things into consideration, you can't overlook all the great content and tons of fun. Good arcade racing fans definitely should give Rivals a chance.

Despite a fair amount of issues (mainly technical), Deadfall Adventures turned out to be very pleasant. The campaign is varied and interesting and I enjoyed these few nights spent with James Lee Quatermain. Deadfall is a pretty good and playable game that would benefit strongly from a little more testing and rethinking of some things.

XCOM: Enemy Within is a really good expansion for an excellent game. After a few hours of gameplay it's impossible to think that we used do play without it. And even though there's no new campaign, there's so much new stuff, that you can happily rediscover Enemy Unknown. This expansion isn't cheap, but the money definitely won't go down the drain.

The first episode of Burial at Sea provided over three hours of really exciting gameplay, but the original BioShock Infinite is still superior in that matter. And even though this DLC lacked a shocking ending, I really cannot wait to see what Irrational Games will show us in the second episode.

Warface is a pretty good game (in its category), but after a while is becomes repetitive and shallow. You need to remember, that the competition in the F2P category is huge and if I were to give Crytek's game a higher note, then my favorite PlanetSide 2 would go off the scale. PS2 is simply a much better game worthy of sacrificing your youth for. Warface is worthy of an hour a day.

Battlefield 4 is a definitive champion of military shooters. The multiplayer mode is superb and shows its magic, when fighters and chopper fly over a big map, when boats jump on the waves and the infantry bravely battles armored enemy units. All of this is beautiful, but there's a lot of issues - from funny minor ones, to some really big and annoying ones. And remember: the single-player campaign is terrible.

The final expansion to The Sims 3 is simply very good. The idea of a future, that your Sims can shape, is really interesting. What's more, we get new skills and jobs, a ton of cool things and gadgets, dreaming and plumbots (a very good idea!). Into the Future is a product comparable to the best of the series - it is a worthy end to The Sims 3 line of games.

Call of Duty: Ghosts has a weak campaign and a good multiplayer. It's not the best game in the series and is definitely not a next generation game. Activision has missed the opportunity to painlessly move the franchise to the next level. Call of Duty will be a shadow of its grandeur, as long as it hangs on to old technology and a boring "future war" setting, and as long as the developers lack the guts to take risks, as they once did with Modern Warfare.

How to Survive is a quite good game with a fair amount of flaws. After a longer session it can be boring, and the RPG & survival mechanics aren't being used sufficiently. Fortunately the fun coming from killing zombies is surprisingly strong. The game is quite cheap, has some interesting ideas and looks nice - these things should outweigh all the mistakes. But the most important question is this: are you not sick of zombies already?

WRC 4 is a decent game, but I have no doubt that a more talented team would have made it something great and a true knock-out for the competition (that barely exists, to be honest). The new WRC game fails in terms of content and new things and that's the result of wanting to deliver a new game once a year. WRC 4 continues the path taken by its superior predecessor, but lacks a strong punch.

Football Manager 2014 - for fans of the series and lovers of a more strategic version of football - is a truly great and unparalleled game. Attention to detail, representation of various mechanics and a very high satisfaction rate deserve the highest praise. On the other hand, this year's edition brings surprisingly little novelties and innovations. Still - FM enthusiasts will definitely love this game.

Black Flag is a better game than Assassin's Creed III, but it still isn't as good as our first meeting with Ezio. Ubisoft has managed to create the best game about pirates (really!), but their story isn't as universal, as Red Dead Redemption was in the "western" category. But don't get me wrong - Black Flag is really, really good. Besides an excellent Animus story, the part in Abstergo's offices is truly great. I'm really curious what the future holds for the series - this time in true next-gen fashion.

Path of Exile is a fascinating and a really big game and simply talking about it can take hours. The game is focused on online gameplay and even though you can play solo, the most fun comes from adventuring with some friends. Path of Exile is a must have for all Diablo fans. It offers dozens of hours of great fun and does that completely free of charge.

Can Batman: Arkham Origins be considered a failure? Definitely not, but it certainly is a game without a spark of genius. The developers have used previously constructed assets and prepared a well-crafted ending to the trilogy. It's not as good as Asylum or City, but fans shouldn't be disappointed. Origins is still a very good Batman game - not original, but extremely effective.
