Operation Flashpoint: Red River was supposed to interest new, less experienced players but they will be repelled by low damage resistance and non-regenerating health. War simulation lovers on the other hand won't find any alternative for their favorite games even if they acknowledge some simplifications. The result is a mediocre game that plays well only with other real players - but only those who value cooperation more than competition.

Portal 2 is the best game I had the opportunity to play this year. It interests the player from the beginning and stays like that to its final minutes. It entertains with great, humorous dialogue, intrigues with compelling puzzles - as a result you keep staring at the screen and forget about the world around you. Valve's newest game is also a well-written product with great attention to detail.

A fast, brutal and demanding beat'em up that is Dishwasher: Vampire Smile, proves that taking a few ideas from old games, expanding them and making them look and sound modern can give an excellent result. Basic gameplay mode is accompanied by two more, that provide many hours of fun - either alone or with company (using one console or a network).

Lovers of adventure games have had some big expectations regarding The Next Big Thing and the developers have met most of them. This is by far the best Pendulo game. An original gameworld spawned a great variety of characters and locations, and the story - although a little humorous - keeps the player entertained and immersed. Dan and Liz are very likable and we tend to cheer for them from the first minute.

For now this add-on can be recommended only to die hard fans of turn based games and people, who are naturally equipped with a high resistance to technical issues. Other players should put their purchase decision on hold until some patches arrive. And despite all this complaining, waiting would be a good decision because underneath these deficiencies lies quite a good game.

I wish that the developers' creation becomes popular enough so that they can create a more complex sequel without looking at a budget. It could have some sort of a multiplayer mode - the game is lacking an opportunity to have a two player battle: one makes the turrets, the other tries to get through. But aside from that Anomaly is a very well made single player experience.

LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars is a very good product for every fan on the world's most popular bricks. It is obvious that the developers want to introduce some changes to the series. Even though they didn't play out so well this time, you can still spend some quality time with Traveller's Tales' newest game.

Another DLC for Mass Effect 2 turned out to be quite mediocre. The story on its micro level doesn't bring about impressions similar to the basic game. Lack of emotional ties with the main female character and very few moral choices don't engage the player. However, this DLC is being saved from oblivion due to the macro level of presetned events and their connection to the main storyline. Reapers' involvement plays an important part.

Shift 2: Unleashed is the most exciting racing game available. What happens on the track, with a little help from several camera settings, is almost a magical performance in which we take part not as a spectator but as an active participant.

Sims Medieval is different from the previous installment and won't satisfy all fans. What we've got is a fairly complicated and surprisingly demanding game, which sometimes bores you with its peculiar gameplay mechanic but more often simply entertains thanks to its easygoing attitude and a wide variety of possibilities.

Bulletstorm is a very creative, visionary, spectacular and uplifting game and its didactical values can't be overrated. Only a polish game will help you broaden your vocabulary with new idioms, will take you to one of the most beautiful tourist resorts in the history of gaming and will introduce you to new friends that you can discuss principal concepts of Nietzche's philosophy with.

Dragon Age II turned out to be less of a revolution than expected. The game is very similar to its predecessor in many aspects but offers so much new content and so many changes, that there can be no doubt that it is a rightful sequel.

The newest add-on doesn't introduce any revolutionary changes, but sums up the game's evolution well by offering an immersive single player campaign as well as a great multiplayer mode. And since Retribution is a standalone product, it is also a great game for people who want to begin their journey into the world of Dawn of War II.

The console version of Torchlight seems to be a very well made game – as long as you don't expect a deep, nonlinear story and tactical challenges during fights. You get what is best on Xbox: comfortable controls, cool graphics and the opportunity to gain achievements and awards for your avatar. Unfortunately, one element that grants a long life to similar games is missing – lack of multiplayer is Torchlight's biggest flaw.

RIFT is an interesting proposition, and its existence has to be acknowledged on a MMO map. But you need to remember that despite some novelties, this game offers a very classic approach to gameplay, so don't expect anything revolutionary.

Brotherhood is a must have for all Assassin's Creed fans. It doesn't blow your mind the way Assassin's Creed II did, but it certainly doesn't leave an impression of wasted money. If forthcoming sequels keep the same level of quality, they can be released every six months. I don't mind.

Shogun 2 is the best installment in the Total War series. Well-known patterns, due to many years of evolution and constant introduction of new elements, have reached their peak in Creative Assembly's new creation. Even though the game isn't perfect, I have to admit, I had enormous fun with it. The newest Total War's force of attraction is astounding.

I can recommend this add-on to everyone, especially the ones who have finished the game and would like to spend more time in Albion. It is a pity though, that the decision making mechanic isn't extended – the developers kept what was in the original game.

A mad, break-neck ride and locations changing in front of our eyes on such a scale is something that the competitors haven't had a chance to show. Evolution Studios have yet again proved to be a true master of off-road racers.

It is extremely hard to recommend a game which seems half-baked, has a short single-player campaign and is ugly. Leaders of the genre can remain calm – Korea's invasion of USA isn't a big enough reason to sound an alarm. Who knows, perhaps an announced sequel will become such a reason? For now, I still count on the developers' hard work with patching up their latest product.

An enjoyable and very spectacular campaign that gets more intense with every mission, a decent multiplayer that should provide many hours of great fun for the lovers of fast-paced action, excellent audio and visuals - this game has everything that defines a real blockbuster.
