Reynatis isn't an awful game to play, but it remains a pretty average experience throughout.- God is a Geek

Itadaki Smash has some decent humour in places and can give you a few hours of slightly underwhelming fighting fun. But with so much better available out there, we would suggest looking elsewhere to get your belt scroller fix.- God is a Geek

Yooka-Laylee could have been the start of a new generation of 3D platformers, but its design leaves it firmly stuck in the past.- God is a Geek

It’s hard to recommend this game to anyone but die-hard Spellforce fans who no doubt have already picked it up and are more than likely enjoying a return to Eo. Fresh eyes to the series will notice the obvious flaws and signs of ageing much more, so it may be best for the uninitiated to skip this concluding chapter and wait for the next full release.- God is a Geek

Crush Your Enemies is an RTS that’ll hold your attention for a little while, with toilet humour you’ll either appreciate or hate, but there are plenty of better games in the genre already on the market.- God is a Geek

The problem with Breakout: Recharged is being asked to pay the thick end of a tenner for something that doesn’t re-invent the wheel, and can be experienced better elsewhere. Sadly it just represents poor value.- God is a Geek

Ice Cream Surfer tells the story of a maniacal vegetable hell bent on destroying the sugary world of the flying gelato-influenced heroes, but just as fast food and candy treats are light on essential nutrients and likely to do you more harm than good, this is a game that is probably best left on the shelf, with other far more healthy options available to the discerning shooter fan.- God is a Geek

What’s most irritating is that there is simply no real reason to purchase this DLC. Granted, if you loved Lords of Shadow 2’s gameplay, then here’s a few hours more to enjoy, but it just feels like a purchasable fetch quest that doesn’t really feel like it adds anything to what we’ve already played and seen.- God is a Geek

The potential is actually staggering, but the reach exceeds their grasp, and in the end they’re left with a game that, frankly, underachieves in almost all the ways that matter.- God is a Geek

TT Isle of Man: Ride on the Edge 2 is still a good game, but some twitchy handling and framerate issues somewhat compromise the Nintendo Switch experience.- God is a Geek

Magrunner: Dark Pulse completely and unabashedly rips off the Portal franchise. It does make a vain attempt to add its own elements but just feels too cluttered.- God is a Geek

While possibly catering to fans of the sport in terms of content, the overly aggressive AI and unnaturally twitchy handling mean that Monster Energy Supercross just isn’t that fun to play.- God is a Geek

Despite giving the player an excess of control over shots themselves, the movement in order to set up those shots is almost completely absent. Add to this a list of unrecognisable names and you’ve got a tennis game that feels pretty darn hollow.- God is a Geek

Surely a game that’s looking over at its anime stablemate green with envy, Knights of Britannia commits the sin of sloth, and ultimately lacks pride.- God is a Geek

The presentation won’t wow you, the story won’t thrill you and the characterisation is paper-thin. But if you enjoy juggling your resources, plotting and organising your army, and have a slight lean towards obsessive compulsiveness, you may find that Dragons of Atlantis provides a long-term gameplay experience.- God is a Geek

In Bound by Flame, Spiders deliver an action-RPG that just about manages to remain playable throughout, but offers not a single “wow” moment. An interesting but limited crafting system and an atmospheric fantasy world don’t make up for run-of-the-mill writing, 2-dimensional characters, imbalanced combat, and a rushed, unsatisfying narrative.- God is a Geek

With no other Switch functionality like touchscreens (which, again, would work really, really well here), and with such a horrendous downgrade, it’s really hard to recommend Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden even to people who don’t own the other consoles. If you can get past the visuals, then there’s a great adventure here with a big heart and a compelling story, but I think for many people that’s going to be a big ask.- God is a Geek

A fairly uninspired puzzle game with awkward controls, the concept of Eqqo is never truly delivered. There are some emotional moments and beautiful environments, but it wasn't enough to keep me interested in the dull gameplay.- God is a Geek

The story is a mish-mash of instantly recognisable boys-own adventure tropes, culled wholesale from the adventures we have witnessed in games, literature and movies past. You wont remember much about the lesser Quartermain once the game is over, but you will enjoy the fun Survival mode which gives a bit of longevity and is terrific fun to play.- God is a Geek

Just like Rogue Trooper Redux and the recent Age of Empires remaster, the focus has been almost entirely on upgrading visuals instead of the gameplay. As a result, Battlezone: Combat Commander still feels like a game released nearly 20 years ago.- God is a Geek
