Arc of Alchemist features repetitive combat, tired tropes, an empty world, and a poorly thought out and written story. There is nothing interesting in this package, just skip it.

With fighting games coming back into vogue in such a big way over the past year, anticipation was quite high for a next-gen entry into the Samurai Showdown legacy. Unfortunately, bad design choices, uneven gameplay, and a limited number of gameplay options ruin this title for all but the most hardcore Samurai Showdown fan.

Soulblight is a top-down action roguelike that features simple yet tough combat. The tainting mechanic and injury effects are clever and keep things interesting. Unfortunately, combat is hard to master, and you may end up dying a lot more than you're willing to accept.

Animal Crossing: amiibo Festival retains the charm that the series is known for, but is uneventful and boring. Move out of this town.

Pick this one up from Steam if you’re truly desperate for another attempt at playing the role of an evil dungeon overlord. If you’re waiting for a great game in that genre, however, pass this one by.

Try the demo, and if you like it, support them because I think they tried but just didn’t quite execute. Football fans can empathize with that.

While you don’t have to have watched the movies to enjoy this game, it definitely helps solidify the universe in which you’re playing. It draws on elements such as Queen Freya’s castle or the enchanted forest known as Sanctuary, or understanding that Goblins are extremely weak to fire. It’s little things, but it makes the experience a little more meshed together. I can say this much, it was a better story than Winter’s War.

An FMV interactive thriller that’s rather light on the “interactive” element. Choices are sparse and do little to promote player agency but some solid production and a stylish, campy aesthetic save the experience.

007 Legends lets us see Bond, but never actually be the suave, debonair, brash, and ultimately human British Secret Agent. Instead we are forced to watch as our generic agent shoots people in the face and then punches them in the sides for a few moments.

I understand that Crash: Mind Over Mutant is good on the consoles. Not great, but good. It seems that a little more time and effort could have gone into the DS version, and it makes me sad.

But if you're a person who doesn't want to wait around for patches and who likes a gaming experience you can glide into rather than struggle through, I sadly suggest either giving this one a pass or at least giving it time to get patched up in time for a steep Steam sale.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants in Manhattan’s charming visual style doesn’t make up for repetitive level design and combat that would leave even Master Splinter frustrated.

Brunswick Pro Bowling for Kinect had the potential to be a great bowling game. The number of features included in the game is strong. The bowling just seems to be a little bit off for someone who bowls a lot. It's not a bad experience for getting a group of friends together and just have some fun. With a few tweaks, this could be a great experience for the hardcore bowler as well.

If this were a PSP game I may be able to overlook a lot of these short comings, but as a PS3 game, Last Rebellion is disappointing.

State of Emergency 2 outright sucks. This is a game so weak in execution, bland, repetitively constructed and poorly balanced that one wonders how it made it out of testing alive.

The game draws heavily on Sid Meier’s Pirates!, with some minor differences in setting and more action-oriented gameplay. Still, it lacks the polish of Pirates! and gets bogged down by some questionable interface decisions reminiscent of older, less-refined games.

I tend to review KOEI titles higher than some other reviewers as I have no interest in panning a game that people have put some effort into; on the surface this is not one of those games.

Jujutsu Kaisen: Cursed Clash feels like nothing more than a soulless cash grab that likely exists only to fleece money from unsuspecting fans of the series. With lackluster combat, bare-bones modes, janky controls and an overall sense of unrefined gameplay, there is almost no reason I can recommend this game, even to JJK super-fans.

Please don’t buy this game. Not for your kid, not for you. It’s not worth it. Get them more cards or something. They won’t get anything out of this Yu-Gi-Oh game other than story.

Mind Jack is definitely an enjoyable game and worth picking up and playing from an action standpoint, just don't expect a great script.

Tornado is fun for a bit, but once they start burying their great initial concept in a morass of extra moves and stupid levels (like a level where a giant bad tornado is bumping you around while the clock keeps on running), it loses its joy.

Either way I suggest steering clear of this title even if you are looking for a resurrection of some nostalgic dodgeball gaming.

There is very little fun to be had in MilitAnt. After spending most of my time breezing through half of the game’s bosses, all but submitting to the other half (with a pair of very green exceptions), and rushing past nearly every basic enemy, I get the impression that this ubiquitous imbalance in difficulty is more likely a vast oversight than a design choice.

Just do yourself a favor, skip this game and go have fun with the real thing.

The game does over multiplayer with up to eight players. Even here, however, the game seems somewhat limited in scope. You have only a handful of maps, and only four game modes, two of which are ranked.

Between fumbling through the menus, mashing your way to a choppy and exceedingly easy victory, and clicking through meandering dialogue scenes that hold no weight, you’ll find yourself too bored to actually collect all the parts you want to make your perfect Gundam. If you’re itching to fight big robots, play Gundam Versus instead. Or, go punch that actual Gundam in Japan (don’t do that).

There are some decent things going on in Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z. The cel-shaded art style is appealing, the dialogue and cutscenes are occasionally entertaining, and even the combat is fun at times. But the frustrating camera, aggravating controls and a nonsensical story that only briefly touches upon the themes of the series, weigh this spinoff title down too much for it to be enjoyable.
