It’s an excellent diversion when you just want to play something simple and fun with your friends for an hour or two.

But what I don't get is why oh why must the enemies constantly rise up to pummel your weaker party when obviously there's few options to defend such cheating onslaughts. Or, why is The Bard's choice brand of humor not making me giggle like mad?

Like a good sack of White Castle cheeseburgers Justice League Heroes isn’t very good quality, and yet it’s still satisfying in some strange way.

While it won't keep you occupied for more than the length of a rental, Lego Star Wars is a surprisingly satisfying addition to my video game library.

Tony Hawk’s Downhill Jam is a fun and much-needed break from the stagnant series, but this original concept doesn’t fill the void for more than a couple of days at the most.

There's nothing really radically new or different. Fundamentally, it's still the same enjoyable bubble-popping game we all know and love – which for most puzzle fans, is good enough.

It looks good, it plays decent, but in the end it is too easy and really doesn't work hard enough to distinguish it from its competitors.

As a collection of short minigames, Ape Escape Academy makes it to graduation with passing grades. However, it goes from being lame because you don’t know what to do in any of the minigames, to being fun because you’ve got the hang of them, to being lame again because the fun is lost after a couple of tries.

I didn't expect to be blown away by WWE 12, but I also didn't expect to be so disappointed by the final game. While the virtually limitless possibilities of Universe 2.0 do give the game an incredible amount of replayability, the questionable AI and disappointing second version of Road to Wrestlemania leave much to be desired.

It's a solid RPG with a good battle system, but it's just a little too familiar to be a great game.

Spider-Man: Friend or Foe is ridiculously easy and can be finished off by a determined family in a few hours.

Contra on the XBLA is well worth a look for Contra completists and other fans of side scrolling shooters, but most people will get their fill with the demo download.

As the first FPS for PSP, Coded Arms is a decent try at it, though not one that's really going to rewrite the books on the genre.

While the spirits are varied enough to keep any serious collector hunting and combining for a long time, the uninspired battle system and the complete lack of battle effects make the game feel like more like collecting for the sake of collecting.

To sum things up, Mario Strikers Charged is a fun, yet brutal anti-soccer game for all ages, but unfortunately the graphics leave something to be desired.

The great moments were truly great. But the lackluster moments were very disappointing. So I'm going to say that the game might be more rental than purchase.

At $20, Raiden Fighters Aces is a good collection of three classic scrolling shooters and fans of the genre will find a lot to like at a low price.

While I didn't enjoy Lego Indiana Jones as much as I had hoped, it's still a solid game and it's target audience (kids who love all things Indy, even Kingdom of the Crystal Skull) will find a lot to like here.

Metal Slug series fans and arcade game fans will probably track this bundle down and will gladly add it to their collection without hesitation, while those that have never experienced such a game should rent it first to see if it suits their taste.

Seriously, with more varied and visually stunning backgrounds, more detailed ship models, more interesting bosses, a better soundtrack, and better power-ups, Xyanide could have been a great shooter. While the negatives outweigh the positives, it is only $19.99, controls very well, and has an interesting story.

The core ideas are there, and the challenge is refreshing in these days of infinite lives and sometimes simple gameplay. But the unpolished controls and targeting system cause massive headaches on top of being challenged, thus making the game more difficult than it should be.

A new Tecmo Bowl game has been long overdue, and it's appreciated that they made one. However, for the next version, we need more.
