A breath of fresh air from the remakes and rehashes that appear on PSP from week to week. As unchallenging as it may be to complete levels, collecting every single fruit flower and exploring the environments provides reason to go back into 40 stages of this charming time waster.

It's sad that Xenosaga Episode III is as good as it is – had they made a game as polished, accessible, and fun as this one the first time around instead of getting all complicated on us, the series might have somehow been able to make it to six games.

Seriously, with more varied and visually stunning backgrounds, more detailed ship models, more interesting bosses, a better soundtrack, and better power-ups, Xyanide could have been a great shooter. While the negatives outweigh the positives, it is only $19.99, controls very well, and has an interesting story.
