If you're not a fan of hidden object games, then I can't imagine that plot-driven hidden object puzzles are going to be what suddenly wins you over. If, however, the words "plot-driven hidden object puzzles" sends a shiver of anticipation up and down your spine, then yes, you'll want to download this yesterday.

The Monopoly Family Fun Pack shows what happens, apparently, when you mess with success — and really, it's not pretty.

Retro City Rampage DX knows which side of that divide it falls on, it never pretends to be more than that, and it's got enough non-stop action that it's able to pull that off with ease.

What we're left with is an idea that sounds silly, with a title that sounds silly, and a game that we'd be silly to give any more thought to.

As Switch Galaxy Ultra shows, that may not be the perfect formula, but it's enough to make an alright game.

Still, it managed to come over to the Vita without losing anything that makes it special, and consequently it's a definite must-play.

That said, being more dynamic and more visually appealing is no small thing; whereas I wouldn't recommend anyone play Crimsonland, I'd say that if you have a deep desire to shoot some bugs, you could do a lot worse than Helldivers.

As it stands, Metal Slug 3 on the Vita is a pretty lousy entry point for anyone new to the franchise, and only worth getting if you're able to overlook a whole lot of flaws.

From any objective perspective, it's probably not worth your time, so unless you happen to be me, stay far, far away.

It's more fun if you don't, though. Doodle Kingdom may be frustrating if you only rely on guesswork, but it also feels really rewarding when you go on a hot streak of creating new elements. It's certainly not the best puzzle game on the Vita or anything, but if you're in the mood for it, it does the job in a pinch.

The reward for spending more time with Krinkle Krueger, after all, is…well, spending more time with Krinkle Krueger. And unless you've got a thing for games that actively try to annoy you, I don't get why that would be very appealing to anyone.

Is Stealth Inc. 2 worth picking up if you've already played the heck out of the original release last year on the Wii U? Possibly not, unless trophies or Xbox Achievements are your thing. If you don't have a Wii U, though, you owe it to yourself to pick it up ASAP — it's seriously that great.

In other words, it's not something that's going to blow you away or change how you look at tower defense games. Medieval Defenders is just a solidly-made game that does what it has to — no more, no less. But considering how lacklustre the genre has been so far on the Vita, sometimes solidly-made goes a very long way.

That said, if you're the type who can look at a 3D puzzle and figure out which end goes where, this game should be right up your alley. It's challenging, but only in the right ways — by which I mean you're not going to spend your time here fighting with counterintuitive controls or wondering what you're supposed to do next.

As far as I'm concerned, however, no matter how interesting the concept may be, the fact the gameplay doesn't measure up makes Project Root a non-starter. Or, to be more specific, the fact that the developers didn't choose to include any checkpoints at all in a game that involves massive levels and constant death makes Project Root a non-starter for me.

Great gameplay that's a little too demanding, outstanding visuals that are a little too distracting, thumping dance music that's a little too catchy: everywhere you look in this game, it's just a constant reminder that you can, in fact, have too much of a good thing.

I can see enjoying it in small doses — but considering how small a dose the entire game is, you could be forgiven for thinking your time and money might be better spent on a longer-lasting, more immersive experience.

Color Guardians may not be one of the greatest games you'll ever play, but it's still clearly above average — and all things considered, that makes it a pretty welcome addition to the Vita's library.

Alien Shooter still probably isn't worth picking up, but if the past is any guide, it may not be too long until it's followed by a game that is.

In fact, if anything this new version may be even better than the original — which means that, come end of year, that "Game of the Year" may prove to be just as predictive as it is descriptive.

It's by no means a bad game, just an unoriginal one, and if you want a Zuma clone for whatever reason, it will more than do the trick.

Tetris Ultimate on the Vita won't redefine the game by any stretch of the imagination, but it also won't tarnish its legacy — and as one of the many, many people for whom Tetris is a seminal gaming memory, that's really all I could ask for.

Between the spooky shadows at the edge of the screen, the creepy sounds that emanate from every darkened corner and bush, and — most importantly — the sinister soundtrack that's constantly, persistently moving forward, this game knows what it takes to leave you feeling seriously unsettled.

Such gamers should absolutely adore Velocibox, since it wants nothing more than to kill you off again and again and again. If, however, you're the kind of person who wants to start off a game feeling like you have a ghost of a chance, then you're definitely not going to get that here.

It's for extraordinarily dedicated Xblaze Code: Embryo fans only — and I don't think I could possibly emphasize that "only" enough, because if that phrase doesn't describe you, you'd be better off picking up literally any other game in existence.

Most expect you to have honed your skills to perfection through years and years of playing other likeminded games; TorqueL expects nothing less than for you to relearn all your skills anew.
