If you can get past some of MVP’s fielding glitches, and appreciate this offensive driven baseball title, then you will be in for a delightful surprise this season.

The Long Reach has a bad habit of undercutting its tension with humour; while there’s obviously a long history of horror games and films using jokes their advantage, here they have a tendency of draining all the fright out of a scene. Similarly, the fact you have to click on everything in order to see if it has a use means that you’re spending more time thinking about how the game wants you to solve a puzzle than you are on the (fairly creepy) mystery. Again, none of this makes The Long Reach a bad game, by any means. But it also means that if you want to see the class of 2D horror films, you need to check out Home or Lone Survivor.

At the very least, you have to rent this one just to experience the 50's B-movie hilarity.

The only real down side is that none of it is really original, which gives veteran racers a been-there done-that kind of feeling.

Unfortunately, like its predecessor, Midnight Shadows has all these great ideas, but it doesn’t seem to know what to do with them. The game still consists entirely of your on-screen characters very slowly walking around neighbourhoods, looking for clues and hiding whenever monsters come close. To be sure, there are worse things for a game to be than unsettling and spooky — especially if, obviously, we’re talking about a horror game. It’s just that it doesn’t take long before you wish that Yomawari: Midnight Shadows would deliver more than a creepy feeling, and, like its predecessor, it’s a wish that never quite pays off.

Because there’s such a disconnect between what it wants to be and what it actually is, it’s hard to know whether to recommend Glyph. It doesn’t come anywhere close to achieving what it sets out to do, but it still offers enough that if you can overlook its failures, there’s a decent enough game hiding underneath.

10tons have shown time and again that they know how to make sci-fi-inflected twin-stick shooters, and Tesla vs Lovecraft doesn’t suggest they’re losing their touch. But it also doesn’t do anything particularly noteworthy, either, which makes it hard to be too enthusiastic about the game.

This game is for the hardcore fans, and they are the ones who will enjoy what K1 offers the most. It’s very real, very authentic.

NBA Ballers may feel a slight sting when it comes to longevity. Sure, the career mode has plenty of game play involved, especially when maxing out your player and his crib. But where do you go from there?

I don't think it expands much on the genre though, so if you've grown bored of twin stick shooters, this game will do little for you.

The ease of play, with the challenge of a good A.I. creates the perfect balance that not only makes for a realistic competition, but an enjoyable one as well.

I appreciate the realization of scale in the game, and the overall fun you get out of just blowing things away with the different weapons you can toy around with. I'm not sure if there's been enough improvements here to appease fans, but as a player that hasn't been immersed in the Armored Core universe for a bit, I had a pretty good time.

If you are a fan of the Batman, you should play this game in some form, as it is one of the better representations of the comic hero in quite some time.

While Vexx builds adequately on the 3-D trail blazed by Super Mario 64, there are others who have taken the next few steps.

Good, just not great, and fails to live up to the expectations of its originator.

When you get down to it, it’s still a lot of basic hack and slash fights broken up by lots of endless cutscenes, with extra side quests there to pad out the length even further. I don’t foresee Sword and Fairy: Together Forever garnering the kind of following here in the west that it has in China, but if you just want to kill lots of monsters and watch lots of dialogue, it may be worth your time.

Rest assure there is much to love about Frogger’s new adventure, even if it means turning this beloved mascot into a Tamagotchi of sorts.

The story is interesting and the mood – from music to visuals and cut scenes – is consistent and well executed. If you're an RE veteran who's ready to move on, it'll feel like you're playing an old game with a new skin.

Far from the definitive Madden on the go experience. There are just too many issues with loading, missing features, and visuals, with the former affecting pacing and overall game play experience.

Everything looks blurry and unfocused, and the game makes use of the old “shroud everything in fog to hide shortcomings” trick that horror games used a few generations ago. Even worse, you can practically see the world falling apart, whether you’re looking from a distance (and you see gaps where buildings need to pop in) or up close (where the game’s assets don’t fully materialize). It’s bad, and there’s no way around that unfortunate fact. And it really is unfortunate, because, as I said, there are quite a few good elements to be found here. I’d even go so far as to say that if you can overlook how hideous it is, then Lost in Random is incredibly rewarding. But at the same time, there are some very real performance issues here, and if you don’t want to spend dozens of hours straining your eyes at ugly graphics, I certainly wouldn’t blame you.

If that’s what you’re after – more Castlevania, without actually playing Castlevania again – then that’s fine, and Elderand will provide you with a perfectly competent experience. But given that other games have taken that route and shown far more personality, it’s hard to see why you’d want to choose this game instead of any of those other ones.

It's no Advance Wars, but with a little more time in the oven it could have at least been more than a decent recommendation for a console launch.

In the beginning, the lengthy and frequent cut scenes really started to grate on my nerves, but after the 6 hour I started to really take an interest in certain characters, and the game felt like it just took off from there.

It's disappointing to see season play missing. After all, what's the point of polishing up one's soccer skills if there's no championship to win, no drafts to reward a player for winning a series of games with the worst possible players?

I don't feel like enough effort went into this to improve upon the flaws of the original, and something needs to be done with career mode to make it a little more exciting and enticing in my opinion.

I'm still looking forward to more DLC for the game, and kind of hope that Square Enix decides to go a little wild with their selections going forward, maybe even reaching outside of the XIII universe for roster additions. But I sincerely hope some changes are made to the drop rate going forward, especially since I've hit the cap with my current characters and don't feel like grinding through the same battle over and over again for a paltry two characters.
