Where Splatoon's motion controls elevated the game's precision as a shooter, the motion-based fighting in ARMS reveals that Nintendo doggedly pursued one core idea and built the rest around that foundation, whether or not it was an improvement on a pre-existing genre. ARMS is nothing of the sort. Instead, it's simply different; sometimes with frustrating compromise, and other times a refreshingly unique take on fighting games. Surprisingly, there are few surprises about how the final product turned out, so if you think this game is for you, it probably is. If not, it's worth a few rounds at a friend's place or a rental — if only to see what the latest idea Nintendo thought was crazy enough that it might work, dedicated to seeing through, and delivered as a highly polished product.

While Too Human doesn't really seem to excel at any of the things it attempts to do, it still ends up being fun to play despite the flaws. Sure, it's annoying to see that damn Valkyrie death animation every time you die, and I'd love to be able to pick out my long range targets, but I still find myself coming back to play for an hour or two every night, at least until I hit 50 with my Defender.

The game is very linear and hopefully one day the EA team will expand this title with a bit more freedom.

Overall, I definitely had a lot of fun with The Shoot. Like all lightgun shooting games it can feel somewhat repetitive here and there and it doesn't really take all that long to play through for the first time. There's enough unique gameplay additions, extra content and modes to keep most gamers busy for some time.

The difficulty is perfect for the younger crowd, but late teens on up won't find much more than a 6-hour romp here.

Overall, it's a pretty solid port of a fun but flawed game. JSR certainly paved a path for future games with its super-unique art style and soundtrack, but it's hard to say that the controls and physics found within stand the test of time as well as the rest of the package. I definitely think its worth checking out if you have any love for the game from your youth, but if you've never experience the series before I'd hold off until a demo becomes available.

Between the noir aesthetic, the sense of humour, and the plot, Pato Box has a lot going for it. If it had nailed that one last little bit of the boxing being fun, it would’ve been perfect. As it stands, it’ll have to settle for being an enjoyable but flawed bit of weirdness.

It's easily the best AI experience you'll find in a console poker title, so if you're dying to pick one up, definitely go with this one.

For gamers who just want to shoot, slam, and take it to guys in the paint, this game will more than meet your expectations. If you are looking for a game filled with strategy and intense pressure, you may want to get your hoops action elsewhere.

All in all, if you can get your ego past the door and past the visuals of the game, which are honestly not the best this launch lineup has, you will find a lot of engine under the hood which makes the ride more enjoyable than you might expect. I urge you to at least try the demo up on PSN, and if you feel that the game offers enough game play and visual wise, then I can assure you that the depth more make makes up for the lack of polish the game's appearance achieves.

While I am somewhat underwhelmed with the final product, I do recommend the title to anyone who enjoyed the first - as it does help to further the storylines of the quirky cast of Capcom's courtroom challenge.

At the end of the day DAEMON X MACHINA is a mixed bag where where is a lot of content in here but with the lacking variety and tedious loading it feels repetitive just like reading this review! Why it still holds my attention is with fun core gameplay that feels like a good game with the wrong kind of structure. But if you really want a mech game and my criticisms do not apply to you then you’ll have a good time with DAEMON X MACHINA but for others you should try the eShop demo first.

Mad Max runs well, has a lot of content and the vehicular combat is fun, but the overall story missions get repetitive fast and it’s easy to lose the drive to play through to completion. I would recommend Mad Max as a rental or wait for a price drop.

I'm also not a big fan of the heavy focus on human enemies, and the weak VS (think mechs) presence in the story, whereas I felt the first title offered up a little more variety in its run of the mill bug slaying (I do give props to LP2's awesome bosses though!), and the really bland multiple angle storyline of LP2 is awful in comparison to LP1's single protagonist, which wasn't all that great either.

I found it to be a jack-of-all-trades, but a master of none. Because of this, you’re left having your attention continually and equally divided, forcing you to pour in tons of hours just to start feeling invested in the world.

Enhanced graphics and the option of a different control scheme don't make up for the missing [multiplayer] mode, and the price is hard to swallow, especially if you already own both systems.

I wouldn’t describe The Sinking City as a bad game, by any means. Much like its Sherlockian predecessors it’s very much for a niche audience, but if you’re part of that niche — and I think I am — it’ll be a fun way to pass 15-20 hours.

It's not a bad game. It is, as I said up top, perfectly fine. The setting and the characters and the action: all fine, if totally unspectacular. Given that it took the same developer a couple of tries to get both Red Faction and Saints Row just right, I have no doubt that, eventually, Agents of Mayhem could evolve into something interesting. For now, though, it merely is, and it's hard to be too excited about any of that.

Overall, I enjoyed what I played of One Piece: Unlimited World Red, certainly more than any One Piece title I’ve played prior to this. It’s not a top-tier action title, but it throws enough content at the player to keep you busy, and does so in a way that feels fun and engaging.

To be fair, part of the reason it feels like MLB The Show 23 is treading water is that, for so many years, it was far and away the best sports game available. When you nail a sport so accurately, all that’s left is the sort of tinkering around the edges that MLB The Show 23 does here. But unless you have a burning need to play as Satchel Paige – and who could blame you if you do? – it makes it really difficult to see why you’d want to pick it up rather than just sticking with MLB The Show 22.

Revenant Saga is populated by all kinds of terrible, terrible people, who seemingly have no filters between their brains and their mouths. Anna, obviously, is the worst. Other townsfolk are just plain mean. Even the demons who can speak come off as passive-aggressive losers more than anything else. It’s hard to tell if all that was intentional, or if the game lost/gained something in the translation, but, secretly, Revenant Saga is hilarious. Does that make it worth your time? Probably not, since you still have to slog through a generic RPG to get to the hilarious bits. Of course, if you like generic retro RPGs, then, good news: Revenant Saga delivers everything you could hope for, along with a surprising amount of humour.

Trancelation works as entertainment, but not edutainment. You’re probably not going to come out of it fluent in any more languages than you went into it with, but if you just feel like dodging around the screen to a great beat, it’ll do the job.

In my personal opinion, This is the Police has a good concept and a well-made story that is ruined to some degree by pointless choices that ruin immersion and rather repetitive gameplay. It looks and sounds nice, but that doesn’t make for a full feeling experience. At the very least, give the game a look and maybe you’ll have a different experience than I, as I think there is a good baseline running behind it that some people could catch on to.
