It all boils down to this: If you’ve enjoyed the mobile Dragon Quest ports up ’til this point, Dragon Quest VI is a perfect topper. And if you’re looking to jump into the series with VI, that’s not a bad idea either.

In the end, if you’re playing Siegefall for the long-game of checking into your base sporadically throughout the day, you’ll get much more mileage out of the game than someone who is looking to sit down and spend fifteen or twenty minutes in one go, with the game.

Warhammer 40,000: Armageddon is an interesting mobile specimen that takes what made the PC release so memorable and translates it to your iPad in a way that makes perfect sense.

That’s all the Inside Out Thought Bubbles experience boils down to: are you a kid? If so, knock yourself out. If not, well, you’ll be hard-pressed to find something in Inside Out to keep you playing for very long.

As you can see, things very rapidly roll out of hand in Cooking Dash 2016, but with crisp visuals, snappy and responsive gameplay mechanics, and even with a frustrating (almost) need for IAPs, the game hold up very well as a challenging and fun puzzle game.

It’s addictive without feeling icky and challenging while still being meditative. In short, it’s the perfect hue.

Even though Xenowerks is repetitive and easy, it’s still a fun game that is a great quick-fix to satisfy your urge to blow up monsters into chunky, green, bits.

Beast Bound is a peculiar adventure with odd little monsters, loads of loot, satisfying battles, and a quirky narrative that will keep you foraging and fighting. It’s worth a try for any fans of classic RPGs.

Although it’s a bit slow paced, Fallout Shelter is a great experience for mobile gamers.

This is one bad froggie, and we mean that in a good way.

Because Angry Birds Fight! is free to play, it’s worth the download for a match-3 or Angry Birds fan. But if you’re looking for a truly addictive PvP battle, don’t put all your eggs in this basket.

It’s a fun little Peggle-like game that rewards skill rather than simply having the player rely on luck, and as a result, brings something truly fresh to an already well-worn genre.

Put in the effort and you will be rewarded by being able to pull off some pretty impressive, parkour-like stunts.

These problems are merely small pebbles, though. Radical Rappelling is a pretty bodacious experience overall, and a must-try for dudes and dudettes who love endless games.

But all combined, YMBAB is the definitive way to play EightyEight Games’ unique puzzle-RPG-runner, and a notable advancement from the already great 10000000.

Overall, the game is worth the free download and at least a trial run, if you will.

If spelling games aren’t your thing, then keep on walking, because AlphaBetty Saga has nothing for you whatsoever. However, if you do dig spelling games, you’ll have no trouble enjoying what AlphaBetty Saga spells out for you.

It may come at a premium price, but if you’re looking for a premium RPG experience, this is it. Don’t worry if you haven’t played the past games in the series. Chaos Rings III is new-player friendly, and I’m living proof.

Dude Perfect 2 sports some refined visuals compared to the original, but at it’s core, Dude Perfect 2 is a pretty forgettable game.

The game is short so this initial installment will entertain you for a couple of days depending on how fast you play.

Nubs’ Adventure is a Metroidvania gem from start to finish, with a surprising amount of gameplay packed into its unassuming package.

I find it ironic that the story, which is what kept me interested in the series during it’s technical rough patch, is now at its weakest when the technical issues have been patched up.

FarmVille: Harvest Swap’s good ideas are unfortunately buried deep beneath a frustrating number of restrictions that barely let you squeak out a single star in the majority of its levels.

Go buy this game.

Overall, Toon Squad offers an intuitive base-building experience with a casual, accessible battle mechanic.

While I like the overall concept of Toysburg, —building toys to give to kids to make them larger than life and do cool things— there is a lot of missed potential.

Thanks to the forgiving difficulty and appeal to roguelike newcomers, there’s really no way to lose: but it is easy to get lost in Sproggiwood.

Players looking for a casual game to pick up and play throughout the week should look elsewhere for their bite-sized gaming addiction. But for players looking for a top-quality roguelike game experience for their iPad or Android tablet, Desktop Dungeons is just that.

While not the grand adventure we were hoping for, Letter Tale is still an enjoyable excursion into a beautiful world we’d like to see more of. More levels, more challenges, and more interactions could all improve what feels like a polished prologue at this point, only the first stop on the postal route.

If you’re looking for a new tower defense experience that doesn’t color too far outside the lines, Bad Dinos would be a good choice.

If you’d like a tower defense game that’s easy to digest, downloading this one isn’t a crazy idea.

Perhaps best of all, there’s no energy system or other restriction on how much you can play at one time. That might be the ticket to figuring all of Earthcore out, sifting through the different layers of strategy and getting a handle on all the cards available.

The pleasure here doesn’t derive from banging your head against a wall trying to fetch an arbitrary item to solve a puzzle, but rather from losing yourself in a spooky, interactive Saturday morning cartoon – complete with clever and colourful dialogue, and highly engaging voice acting.

All told, Capitals’ simple-looking graphics hide one of the most complex and engaging word games on the digital marketplace. As soon as you’re sucked in, you’ll learn to love to hate hexagons.

Overall, Digit & Dash is a solid, challenging, reflex-based game that is sure to challenge players of all experience levels.

Guns, fungus, sweat, and desperate word-making: Moldicide has it all.

This is exactly the sort of game I could see myself playing with my friends, back when I was nine; sitting around the living room, watching everyone try to get the farthest without messing up. I would have had a blast with SpongeBob Game Frenzy, and as it stands, grown-up me had a bit of fun with the game too.

There is simply nothing remarkable about Languinis to focus on. It’s two generic gameplay experiences merged together.

If you’re already a fan of shooting / hunting games, there’s enough here to compel you to look down a scope and into the heart of a fourteen-point tofu buck.

Still, if you’re a fan of the franchise, or you have a youngster who loves the little blue gnomes, playing Magical Meadow is certainly preferable to, say, having tea and crumpets with Gargamel.

Beyond the discomfort of playing it for too long, and looking silly while playing it, Caliber Club is a great little shooter that has some cool party tricks.

The game is clearly designed for little kids who have a budding interest in what goes on in the kitchen, and for that audience, it’s pretty much ideal.

Even though Rival Kingdoms borrows a lot from Clash of Clans and the games which have followed suit, it brings to the table it’s own rich story that is good enough to warrant the slightly repetitive build-attack-wait gameplay that has become a genre of its own.

As far as RPGs go, Fearless Fantasy is far from the best. But it does some pretty cool things with gesture-based fights, offering RPG fans a new way to partake in RPG-styled combat.

If you’ve somehow never played the first game and are in the wheelhouse for the inside jokes that Knights of Pen and Paper II relies on so heavily, you’re likely going to find it a creative and clever revelation.

But as it stands on its own, Heroes and Castles 2 offers up some good action and strategy gameplay. You just have to look past some clunky controls and blocky graphics to get it.

With the lack of customization aside, Beast Quest is a really solid adventure game that should be investigated by any gamer with a thirst for adventure and some time to kill.

While GoatZ features some new elements, it’s main element is still that the game remains largely a wonky mess of physics glitches, and the charm that came with the original game is fading very quickly.

Cooped Up is simple, addictive, weird, and kind of creepy for all its bright colors and well-animated fowl.

If you’ve not picked it up yet and nostalgia is tugging at your thumbs, by all means go mobile.

Most crucially of all, though, Spacecom is a game about moving numbered triangles along lines into circles.

Like a game of tic-tac-toe, Kindo is best enjoyed sporadically and in small doses or you risk a quick burn-out.

It must be said that there’s some loss of nostalgia in Sorcery! 3, however. It’s an amazing game that you absolutely must play, but it’s much less of a gamebook than similar apps are.

Its combination of engaging gameplay and good looks should be a winner, and even if it gets lumped in with other strategy titles in the minds of mobile gamers, at least it should emerge as the first thing people think of when they hear its name.

Bears vs. Art is a charming, polished, and lovable addition to Halfbrick’s oeuvre.

Maybe it would’ve fared better as a park-builder or a dinosaur-themed fighting game instead of a mix of the two.

Overall, MicRogue offers a quick-and-easy roguelike experience for a bargain price. If you’ve been on the hunt for a good roguelike experience for your phone or tablet, MicRogue is a perfect fit for you.

The annoying puzzles in Act 2 don’t negate this. And while we sometimes felt Act 2 was just a lightly modified Act 1, if you enjoyed the first half, there’s only more to love here. Unlike Shay, we don’t want to get off this ship. But, like Vella, we wouldn’t mind a few more explosions.

Like Mayday! Deep Space before it, Lifeline is a game that rises to the challenge of an overcrowded genre and even more stuffed app ecosystem.

As it turns out, there is room for another free-to-play Marvel game on the market as long as it’s enjoyable, and this one certainly is.

Even if Does Not Commute winds up being a bit too repetitive for your tastes, you certainly won’t forget the time you spend with it. That’s high praise for any game on the hyper-crowded App Store.

I was never much of a fan of color-matching battle games. While many people are, they’ve always been too simple in nature to retain my attention for long. But Battle Odyssey, with its sheer variety of ways to clear the board, not to mention the amount of characters to collect, I found myself hooked to my iPad, doing my best to carry my team through their adventure.

If you’re nutty about action / puzzle games, download Dungeon Link without delay. If you’re burnt out on Puzzle & Dragon and games like it, try poking at Dungeon Link anyway.

As a whole, Forgotten Memories is designed really well, and it is very creepy with some neat puzzles. The game is only marred by clunky combat experiences and a stingy save system that is stuck in the 90’s.

With that said, UFC 2015 is a solid fighting game with a good assortment of ways to beat your foes into submission. The energy boosts and pay-to-play fighters aside, this is one I’m sure fans of MMA will want to check out.

Layer wields simplicity effectively and efficiently to deliver an experience that’s simultaneously simple and complex in every regard.

Adaline is lovable and squeezable, but it needs some tuning-up before it can be considered amongst the App Store’s greatest stealth titles. You might say this cat needs to be fixed.

Hardcore WWE aficionados will want this, but my personal feeling is that with another year or two of iteration, this could really become a series that draws raves.

Graphical quibbles aside, Frontline Commando: WW2 is a solid third-person shooter that fans of the genre will not want to skip out on.

War Dragons can use more of a story, and a meatier single-player campaign. Its battles are also a bit repetitive, and lacking depth.

Asides from how Tiny Guardians looks, I can honestly say that I’ve never played a game quite like this before. I can’t recommend it strongly enough. It’s a unique spin on tower defense that’s easily worth the price of admission.

Garfield: Survival of the Fattest is worth a shot if you’re the type of Garfield fan that owns every scrap of orange-and-black merchandise ever created (and we know you’re out there). Otherwise, if you’re looking for a licensed city-builder, you’re better off staying in Springfield.

If you’re looking for a tense game that’s heavy on storytelling (and an absolute treat for you eyes), Lost Within is an easy recommendation — especially for gamers who like a good fright.

Implosion might just be the best action game that fans of the hack-and-slash genre can find on modern mobile devices.

Ultimately, Spirit Lords’ free-to-play barriers are relatively minor. They’re definitely worth looking past if you’re in the market for a charismatic game that lets you collect oodles of loot and brilliant-looking ghosts.

If you’re a fan of endless runners, you’re going to want to pick this one up.

A near-flawless victory for mobile gamers.

Despite its sometimes-slow battles (which honestly do speed up a bit once you gain a few levels and learn how to use your skills efficiently), Attack the Light is a solid, budget-priced RPG that gets by on its own merits regardless of how much you know about Steven Universe.

If you’ve been itching for something like Clash of Clans. but with a little more meat on its bones, this is it.

Marvel Mighty Heroes is a decent top-down action game that is jammed with Marvel heroes, but its held back by its repetition, ease of play, and IAP structure.

It just doesn’t seem like enough motivation to get people invested in the previous game to upgrade to something that is essentially the same.

Trundling along in The Quest Keeper and bumbling into treasure chests for rewards is fun. If you dig Crossy Road’s chunky pixels but find the gameplay a bit shallow, consider leveling up to become a hero.

Star Wars Rebels: Recon Mission does a lot of things right: it features a fair and flexible IAP system, it respects the Star Wars source material, and it offers an easy-to-play control scheme for a platformer on a touchscreen device.

It’s not the most complicated or profound game on the App Store but if you’re looking for your new two-minute time waster and enjoy platforming fundamentals, you’ll be glad you downloaded Circle Frenzy.

If your favorite part of the winter finally giving way to warmer weather is the thought that the boys of summer will soon be back in action, this is the game you’ll want on your phone or tablet ASAP.

Compass Point: West does take some getting used to, as the game’s tutorial is lackluster and there’s no list of “Quests” to guide you through your shaky start. Still, it’s all relatively easy to sort out, especially since you’ll likely find yourself returning to the ranch over and over.

It’s always a little daunting to try to keep a successful series fresh without breaking what already worked, yet Kabam managed to pull it off with Fast & Furious: Legacy. Fans of both the games and movies should be pretty happy, and there sure seem to be plenty of both out there.

Even with its imperfections, Final Fantasy Record Keeper is a game you’ll gladly sink hours into as you fine-tune your party and play around with abilities and equipment.

It’s cute, highly accessible, and offers a fair challenge.

Despite the game’s familiar nature (especially for Infinity Blade fans), there’s no getting around it: Stormblades is one of the best games we’ve played this year.

The truly rewarding moments in The Trace are exploring its gorgeous, accessible world and feeling like you are a physical part of it.

While I didn’t time my playtime, it certainly felt like episode 3 was the longest episode yet. I am not sure if that is because it actually clocks in as the longest, or if there was so much going on it simply felt like I had been playing for awhile. Regardless, for as long as the game felt, I was never bored at any point during my playthrough.

Four Letters has no levels, and no hints on what you ought to spell next. It has no themes, no trips around the world that challenge you to solve word puzzles related to the Eiffel Tower or Mount Rushmore. But its simplicity makes it fresh, clean, and worthy of replaying over and over again.

I just wish Stan Lee’s Hero Command captured a little more of the magic in the living legend’s mind, but he probably isn’t sweating the fact that it doesn’t make that much of an impression, so neither should you.

Though the heroes’ brainless wanderings can get frustrating, SwapQuest is a satisfying and unique way to spend a few hours.

Card Crawl is an impressively solid card game that borrows what works from other games and spins it into it’s own, unique, game.

While it certainly took it’s time getting released, Tales From The Borderlands – Episode 2: Atlas Mugged retains the charm and adventure that made the first episode such a memorable experience.
