A major factor in the addictive and fun nature of Guitar Hero II is the excellent learning curve.

As it is, there’s little to keep you coming back for more, and your money is better spent elsewhere. Average at best.

You would be hard-pressed to find a cheaper way to indulge your nostalgic streak, and few people deserve to live their lives without experiencing the giddy thrills on offer here.

With a next-gen sequel due within the year and Call of Duty 3 providing a comprehensively better experience, why bother wasting your time and money?

The players no longer look like white faced zombies and the online mode is one of the best we've experienced so far.

Overall Armored Core 4 is heading in the right direction, but there are many issues that need to be addressed.

If you think this is a short review, you clearly haven't played Cooking Mama (and that's the way it should stay).

It’s an interesting idea taking both of these two distinctively different genres are brought together, and for the most part they work.

Earth Defence Force 2017 then is a rarity that comes along far too infrequently. A cheap game that sacrifices graphical flare for good old fun and destruction. Well worth the asking price.

The new features add to what was already an enjoyable and entertaining experience, only now you can kick, punch, shoot and strangle your way to the top and feel like you're actually doing it.

You have the atrocious commentary which is worse than ever in this game.

Just as you are beginning to be entertained by Kororinpa, its all over. Frankly this would have been better placed as a budget release as outside of the main mode you only have a standard two player offering or the option to beat your previous best time.

Distinctly average. The concept and structure have potential, but it was largely unrealised in this game.

Wing Island is another visual disappointment for the Wii and without the strong foundation of game play; the graphics are even more obvious.

Gamestyle does still love Theme Park just as much as when we first played it in 1994, it is still disappointing to see that EA Japan haven't added anything apart from having a little helper guide you through the game.

And all this carnage is rendered beautifully through the game's graphics and sound. It's hard to deny that God of War II is one of the greatest looking and most epic games on the Playstation 2, but it wouldn't be much of a stretch to call it one of the best looking games on any console.

Still, if this sort of no-nonsense adrenaline-fueled racing appeals, you won't find much to match it on the PSP.

The inability to take cover in multi-player is an odd omission and the AI in the single player is dreadful.

The odd moments of joy don’t warrant sitting through the rest of the tedium and broken mechanics for. This cash cow has been well and truly milked.

Alien Hominid HD almost makes us want to cry. Maybe it's because a game we've been looking forward too has turned out to be incredibly average or perhaps it's because we've very rarely been this overcome by a games unfair difficulty.

The Xbox 360 certainly needs more titles from the Japanese development community, but Bullet Witch is far from a show of support.

Pretty much a dire, tiresome experience with only one saving grace. The impressive strategy section and length of the empire mode soon give way to the abomination that are the battle confrontations. Leave it on the shelf where it belongs.

Its tedious button mashing which is more likely to give you repetitive strain injury than any actual enjoyment, now joined by a largely ineffective strategy element. Avoid.

Easily the most distinctive and unusual title exclusively available via the PS Store. For £3.49 you receive 128MB of something rather unique and eye opening but others will thoroughly hate the lack of structure and goals, as many play to win or obtain the highest score.

As a fighting experience Virtua Fighter 5 is unsurpassed, where the series goes from this point is open to debate. It is crying out for some form of online functionality or a decently implemented career mode. However while that fighting system is still in place it will remain a worthwhile, challenging and prolonged experience.

We really do believe it’s a step in the right direction for the much-maligned franchise, and contains a lot of elements that feel like real ‘Sonic’ moments. However, it proves to be as frustrating as it is fun, with several flaws that interfere with one’s enjoyment of the game.

M.A.C.H is technically a near-perfect game; smooth, easy to play, good looking, well implemented multiplayer modes and so on. What it doesn't have is a single spark of originality or even the smallest bit of personality. Is polish more important than originality? GameStyle thinks not.

The motorcycle sections inject some much needed variety, with massive jumps and homing missiles to dispatch oncoming enemies with, but they get also get very repetitive very quickly, as it's just a straight rush from A to B while shooting or chaining enemies.
