The first half of the game is certainly an edge of your seat horror fest, it's only in the latter stages where the game starts to come undone with a plot that soon falls into Evil Dead 2 levels of hilarity.

Teenage zombies isn’t a terrible game, it’s just lazy.

With only five levels one could argue that there isn’t much to Ikaruga. Yet what it lacks in size it more than up for in terms of playability and challenge.

Within Opoona there is a really original game fighting to be discovered. Unfortunately the technical issues contained within and a mundane RPG battle system dimishes the overall gaming experience.

"One for the fans" might be a lazy summary of any game, but it's quite an apt one here. Without the emotional connection of Final Fantasy VII, Crisis Core is a somewhat half-hearted game lacking in substance, for all its polish and production.

This is simply one of the most entertainingly laid-back titles of the year.

Still, there are very few tennis games on the Xbox 360 at the moment, and while hardened fans of the sport may want to hold off for Top Spin 3, Sega fans will lap this fan service up.

Ultimately Sega Superstars Tennis is yet another frivolous entry in the Wii Catalogue.

Vegas 2 could’ve done with a few months more development time, at least, maybe then would we have got the Rainbow Six game we all wanted.

The 2.5D graphics are quite nice and it captures the character and environment well, but overall we can only really recommend this to parents who want to shut their kids up for five minutes.

Condemned 2 really is a menagerie of bad design choices.

God of War: Chains of Olympus is a fantastic game and a worthy addition to any PSP owner’s collection.

Ninja Reflex only feels like a third of what could have been a fun package. Even the kids will feel short-changed by the overall package, which despite some positives never warrants affiliation with the ninja.

If you really must have a Taito classic on your DS then go for New Zealand Story Revolution instead.

In many ways Turning Point: Fall of Liberty is playable, but there’s so much unredeemable dross that you should seriously question why you purchased the game when every other FPS on the system is far more deserving of your money.

It’s all pointless though because the writers of the TV show have since said that this game doesn’t even take part in the official chronology, making this nothing more than glorified fan fiction.

Apollo Justice is a likeable guy (because he is just a carbon copy of Phoenix Wright, to be honest) and even four games into the series, this still remains fresh, thanks to the clever writing and plots.

Dynasty Warriors 6 is best summed up as a mild distraction.

For those who have never experienced the DW series before, this is the perfect place to start, and either find a challenging, delightfully tactical slice of unpretentious fun or unearth a deformed, unlovable, fossilised relic of a bygone age.

Fifa Street 3 certainly kept us hooked for a while. It has an excellent online mode, but is let down by its single player shortcomings.

If you’re a fan of the genre and are tired with the lack of decent RPG’s on the Xbox 360 then you can’t go wrong with Lost Odyssey.

Professor Layton and the Curious Village is an accessible game with enough challenge to maintain interest for some time, and is full of charm and wonderful presentation.

More depth and some playability, magically matched to a worthwhile control system is what is required here.

That doesn't change the fact that underneath the fireworks and glitter that the generation-jump brings DMC4 is a far less complete video game than its predecessors, and being new to the series will simply delay the realisation that the game just doesn't live up to the series' potential.

Ultimately The Spiderwick Chronicles achieves what it sets out to accomplish, and that is satisfy fans of the source material.

For Xbox Live users Rez HD is the chance to relive a classic, experience something as fresh today, as it was six years ago.

Bomberman Land is a shining light in an otherwise drab wasteland of terrible mini-game collections.

If you have no other way to play Bomberman then by all means pick this up for the online modes, otherwise it is best left on the shelf.

The pacing of PixelJunk Monsters is almost perfect with enough life in the experience to confirm that this is one of the wisest purchases currently available on the PlayStation Store Network.

Burnout Paradise is an excellent game, but there are one or two blemishes that do tarnish it somewhat. Still, there's something for every Burnout fan here and it will no doubt spark continued debate over whether it's the best in the series.

Faults do exist, but the core gameplay more than makes up for it and finally confirms that Nintendo aren’t the only development studio who can make a stellar Wii game.

It just remains for us to say, if you’re looking for a quality title to download, go with SWOS. It’s the sensible choice.

Rock Band is really three games in one, and what's amazing is that not one of them feels anything less than excellent, despite treading on now familiar ground. Combined, they are a recipe for the most fun you can have in your living room.

Given the quality of recognised classics of the genre such as Capcom v SNK 2 and Capcom's formidable Street Fighter Alpha Anthology disc (both of which retail for the same price) and Battle Coliseum’s bargain basement finish, there is no way this game can be considered anything other than average.

The combat is very predictable and lacks any notiable originality.

We long for a good Godzilla game, but this isn’t it.

There's a lack of scope to Draglade that makes repeated play-throughs an easy and unrewarding chore, something that a sequel should aim to address in the future.

Time will no doubt address its faults but for a quick blast with friends or for fans of ragdoll physics it may prove to be an interesting diversion.

There isn’t anything else like it on the DS, and with various multiplayer modes and plenty of gold medals to earn, it will keep you busy for quite a while.

Boogie on the DS is a vast improvement on the Wii version. The game has more of a purpose, and actually requires some skill to play.

Overall Geometry Wars Galaxies is a tight and fast paced shooter that is guaranteed to get the pulse flowing.

Uncharted: Drakes Fortune is a rare treat for a console that is currently starved of triple A exclusive titles.

Assassin's Creed is a brilliant game wrapped up in a less brilliant one.

Ultimately, Umbrella Chronicles proves to be great fan-service, and will no doubt keep fans of the Resident Evil series very happy until Resident Evil 5 arrives. On its own, while there are niggles, it still proves to be a solid, entertaining gun game that's worthy of carrying the 'Resident Evil' title.

It tries to cover all the bases and provide street, simulation and racing experiences and consequently does not master any of these disciplines.

It does its best to dissuade you from playing, looking like it was put together on a budget of about 50p, yet offers one of the most superlative and complete 2D fighting experiences Gamestyle has had the pleasure of playing in recent years.

Smarty Pants will not appeal to everyone and for most of us it will languish under the bed or in the cupboard until guests drop by, or the kids want to play.

We suppose if you’re really into your WW2 shooters and unlike everyone else in the world has yet to tire of the setting then it’s possible that you’ll get some joy out of it. Everyone else need not apply.

Aliens Vs Predator: Requiem is what we like to describe as a mild diversion. Certainly not worth your hard earned pennies it’s nevertheless a fairly competent movie tie-in that will entertain for about half an hour.

While there's a lot to love, and it does succeed in giving fans exactly what they wanted, it doesn't feel as complete, compelling, or competent as the rest of the canon.

Pocket-sized foibles aside, what keeps Origins out of the big-leagues that its brethren inhabit is what saved the title from disaster in the first place- it's simply too conservative by far, with none of the occasionally misplaced inventiveness found in the other titles.
