Naughty Dog use the PS3 to reinvigorate the adventure gaming experience, combining key elements that every gamer holds dear in a game that looks and feels like a blockbuster film. [Dec 2007, p.52]

Uncharted is the best game Naughty Dog has ever crafted.
  3. Uncharted is a tremendously fun game and one of the best gaming experiences of the year. While it borrows heavily from other games in the market it's such a nice and diverse game that it's hard to find much fault with.
  4. We could actually say that Drake is the male version of Lara Croft, a good prediction to the beginning of a franchise that could be very interesting.

Uniquely entertaining, if cliched at times. [Jan 2008, p.60]

Everything's fun and exhilarating, but it never builds to more than the sum of its parts. Just keep your expectations in the right place, and you'll enjoy your time in the tropical sun. [Holiday 2007, p.76]
  7. Problem is, when it comes to movie-style storytelling, Uncharted is more "Sahara" than "Raiders Of The Lost Ark."

It got a lot of criticism for being derivative but I don't think it's much more derivative than many other games. It was a fantastic adventure. The characters, beautiful island jungle setting, and narrative were extremely well done. Especially for the time. The gunplay and traversal were pretty basic but still enjoyable and in the context of everything else that was done so well the game carried itself as an overall exciting experience. This was the start of Nathan Drake's adventures and it genuinely felt like something pretty special at the time. Expand

Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, for me, is the worst Uncharted game. This does not mean it is bad, I enjoyed it a lot. However, it is too short, it has too much shooting and not enoug story. The characters are great, the music is very fitting and memorable and the graphics are top-notch for a title released in 2007.
I just feel like it is a bit too rushed for an introduction game to a series and could have more story by getting rid of some of the painfully long action sequences, which are way too similar to stay on the same level of entertaining throughout the game. Also, the supernatural twist, while surprising and exciting, wasn't executed that well. Overall, a decent start to the series and it leaves you wanting more.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Really cool game until they decided to add nazi zombies for some reason. Completely ruins everything about the game. I hope to someday find whatever the dev team was smoking when they thought that would be a cool and fun idea so that I can be so indescribably high and make the worst decisions of my life. This is the only review I have ever left for anything and probably ever will. Just can’t believe 1) that they would add that storyline and 2) that they try and drag it out so long. In conclusion, yeah just a terrible idea so whatever. Fun game I guess but that part just filled me with rage because why would you ever do that. Expand
