Technically impressive open world in the Alps, but the winter sports simulation lacks long time motivation and diversity.

The Universim starts off great and then flattens out to the point of boredom.

Space - spectacular and boring. The first few hours give the impression of playing one of the best online games ever. So it's even more disappointing that Black Prophecy sinks so low afterwards. The story just stops, the quest are boring and ships and talents should be more complex. Let's hope for new content soon.

No Hearthstone killer - yet. But with improved quests and the promised new card sets it could soon be one of the best games of the genre.

MySims was created for very young gamers, but is more than just "Sims Light" with cute graphics. It's actually quite complex, especially for children. The rewards and challenges are very well done. If you're less than 10 years old, this may be for you.

The search for the best angle to take a shot, the good controls and smooth gameplay combine into a fast-paced foray, which ends just as fast after only four hours. There should have been a multi-player mode, the father and son characters almost demand a co-operative mode. The game is cheaper than usual, but it's still too expensive for a game that short.

Worldplay, grog and atmosphere, but still quite weak puzzles - the fourth episode of Tales of Monkey Island offers good entertainment, including the well known problems of all episodes so far. Only the great presentation prevents the game from mediocrity.

The initially gripping chases lose their effect quickly. When I hear the very well-written dialogues in comparison, I would rather spend much more time with Ada, Tesla and Co. and learn more about them.

What's the worst that can happen to a fighter jet game? Playing it feels like sitting in a slow train. There's no difference between Mach 2 and the speed of a mallard, no difference between the F-117 Nighthawk and the Mirage III, and to crash your plane, you need to deliberately go for it. Only when there are far too many enemies, H.A.W.X. poses a challenge and never exploits its full potential.

It's half-time for Tales of Monkey Island. The third of five episodes is good entertainment, but the puzzles are getting worse. Most of the fun comes from comical situations and the weird characters, not from the game itself. Instead of getting harder, it gets easier.

Before We Leave is a lovely indie builder that slowly loses its appeal after a cosy first few hours.

Without the Wii U gamepad it's just a half-baked port of a solid but out-of-date survival horror game.

An atmospheric police patrol simulator with promising elements, yet it never truly evolves beyond the daily grind of police life.

Fine retro shooter in the Warhammer universe that would be even better with automap, editor or multiplayer mode and more enemy variety.

Payback has the ingredients to be an entertaining arcade racer, but poor game design choices and lame gameplay prevent that.

It sounds like a good idea: co-operative missions, heroes, a fresh setting. But Worldshift fails, mainly because of bad design that ignores the standards of the genre. Having to control every single soldier manually because there are no group controls isn't acceptable. Different heights, trees, houses and even whole rock formations are ignored or can be shot through. The three factions are well balanced for multiplayer, but the single player campaign basically consists of "go from A to B" and "try and error". Even the best ideas won't work if you get the basics wrong. Maybe it's better to wait until Black Sea has ironed out the problems.

This is the PC conversion of the console game Birds of Prey. It's a bit short for an action game, doesn't offer enough options to be a simulation and still it's worth playing, mainly because there are no alternatives and Wings of Prey has great graphics worth seeing.

It's a two-faced game that seems to be too complicated, old fashioned and unfair to new players. But it has a fascinating part when well-organized gamers play co-op and multiplayer matches.

This action-adventure offers fun gameplay mechanics, exciting exploration, fast-paced platformer sections and combat. However, it suffers from technical deficiencies.
