If you’re looking for an atmospheric, beautifully crafted, nuanced and thoughtful narrative experience, The Banner Saga 2 is a contemporary leader in all of those fields.

Despite Salt and Sanctuary‘s issues, it remains an enjoyable and rather addictive adventure overall.

Into the Stars is a subpar and incomplete product but if you’re the kind of player who has the will to put in a steady investment of time and effort to probe its every nuance and deeper subtlety you might just get that pearl.

Irrespective of its perceived value based on its length and price though, there’s no doubt that Blues and Bullets: Episode One alludes to a series that could be somewhat of a diamond in the rough, and I for one am keen to see as to how it develops.

Soda Drinker Pro is merely an abonination which exists, and really shouldn’t exist.

Given the number of indie titles available these days, Organic Panic! does enough to deserve a place near the top of the pile as it’s more than just another platformer; it’s inventive, amusing and a joy to play.

When you take everything into account, UnEpic on the PS Vita is quite a nice little port. Sure, the framerate sometimes struggles, and you don’t quite have as much information available to you in an instant, but the game feels right at home on the handheld, and the refined visual presentation is a boon.

It would take ages to explain every element of Gremlins Inc. so I won’t try. My recommendation would be to get it yourself if you’re interested in strategy board games that you can play with your friends.

The thing that really stands out about Rise of the Tomb Raider is that you care about the characters at all.

The final two games step forward and show their well-polished improvements with graphics that laugh in the face of many 2015 releases.

[Protoshift] is the Flappy Bird of the indie games scene.

The look of this game is nothing short of stunning… Each detail is carefully designed and thought out with a charming feel to it overall.

While the platforming elements themselves are basic it is the addition of outside forces that make ADIOS truly unique.

[Arslan is] not really that different from those that have come before it, but the focus on story leads to missions that feel more urgent and engaging.

The sound from completing a panel is extremely satisfying, and I’ve followed it with a victory dance more times than I’d like to admit.

As always, [Freeplay] adds a great deal of value and content to the game, and is likely to be where you’ll have most fun.

Amazing Princess Sarah is a game that is hard to find fault with really, apart from the fact that it’s generally just quite derivative.

Defragmented is a fun and engrossing game (hours will fly by as though you’re in a cryo-sleep). It has a mostly wicked score, a cool world and explosive action sequences which make you feel like you’re inside of a movie on a bad trip. It’s not the best shooter ever made or the best RPG ever made, but the hybrid set in the cyber-punk universe is intense and captivating.

If you are looking for a unique twist to the very established stealth genre, or a way to pass the time before sinking your teeth into more complex and in-depth games, then Level 22 definitely fits the bill.

In a nutshell then, Earth Defense Force 4.1 may not look like a game that you bought a PS4 for, but it makes up for it by providing outrageously mindless fun that simply no other game can offer.

Bounce Rescue! ends up feeling rather uninspired and a little boring.

Overall then, MXGP2 is a good game, but it’s not going to blow you away.

Overall, Capcom were just too ambitious with Resident Evil 6, and unfortunately this port doesn’t really do anything to address any of its glaring issues.

Going into it, I didn’t expect much from Letter Quest: Grimm’s Journey Remastered, but I was pleasantly surprised. I enjoy a good word game now and then, and the unique twist that Letter Quest offers with brawler and RPG elements makes this a truly engaging and addictive title.

Republique has some great ideas, but it’s just a shame they aren’t developed fully enough to offer the tight experience that the game could have been.

In the game biz, addiction is but one of the many pathways to success. There’s no easy road to fame, glory and a boatload of bills, just as there’s no one algorithm that will make gamers shut the blinds and keep their behind glued to edge of their seat. But Leap of Fate does appear to have found the recipe for addiction, if not success. Pick it up if you’d like a taste.

The story is told through comic strip cut scenes which feel out of place for this world, and very half-assed.

There’s no doubt about it, DiRT Rally is the finest rally game currently available on Xbox One.
