If you have the patience to put up with some very slow plot points, have never been bothered by an overuse of clichés in the JRPG genre, and are more interested in a JRPG with refreshing combat than a refreshing narrative, you'll get a kick out of The Last Hope.

Even zombies can't save it from being judged against its much better ancestor, and that's one fight it will never win.

It’s this blend of casual pick up and play feel, deep, challenging gameplay and copious amounts of activities that makes this a very hard game to put down.

Dawn of War was a finely tuned game with huge battles and many disposable troops. Dawn of War II is faster, lighter, smaller, in some ways more interesting and in other ways somewhat lacking in its execution. But taken as a whole it’s impossible to not recommend the game to 40K fans and to those who are willing to accept that this is not a linear sequel to an aging franchise.

This blend of familiar gameplay and contemporary aesthetic lends incredibly well to the game, giving you the sense that it’s something wholly new, with plenty of nods to a bygone era.

Rockstar has set the bar for what downloadable content can be and I for one can’t wait to see what the next adventure holds in store.

There’s little doubt that Prinny is good old-fashioned frustrating fun, with loads of replayability granted by its six difficulty levels packing myriad trinkets to be picked up along the way.

If you're the type who gets angry when you lose because of something like “my arm twitched” or “the sensor bar didn't register that,” stay far away from Evasive Space; it's just going to tick you off. If you have the patience to deal with the occasional annoyance, though, Evasive Space is a unique, clever title that will make a decent addition to your Wiiware library.

While it’s not all bad it is hard to find any aspect of the game that is particularly praiseworthy.

The game hardly lays out a convincing tale, which leaves gameplay to perform double duty.

In all seriousness, this game is exactly what Wii owners need. It’s fun, funny, violent and tuned right in to the sensibilities of the hardcore. If you love bad B-movies, and you like shooting things, this is a total no-brainer – no pun intended.

Onechanbara knows it’s goofy and stupid. It’s just too bad it doesn’t realize that it’s a terrible game.

Still, even with the short playing time, it's hard not to recommend Deadly Creatures. The level design is top notch, the animations of the various bugs are downright creepy and the combat is oddly satisfying. The game also hosts some interesting boss battles which take into account the fact that the bosses are usually much, much bigger than you, meaning that the best way to win is to simply survive.

Tenchu works best when taken as a puzzle game that requires you to master your ninja sense and proceed step-by-step, error-by-error, to every stage’s inevitable boss. As a “stealth action” game, however, it falls short of expectations.

Enemies almost always react faster than your character, he turns as if he’s in a particularly unwieldy chariot. Jumping is a chore, thanks to the awkward mapping of the function to the nunchuk’s Z button.

I could further bemoan the lack of character customization, the mash-a-licious combat system, and the (mostly) fluid yet barebones platforming, but sometimes we all need a little simplicity. Like a Jason Statham action flick, Afro Samurai won’t change your life in any meaningful way, but it’s perfect for those days when you want to sink into the couch, turn off your brain, and watch some bloody entertainment.

Baseball text simmers have dreamed for a game like this for years, but if you want to be taken seriously by the sim crowd you need to do a better job of simulating the sport – otherwise it’s simply not worth the time and money.

The game isn’t flawless, but it is solid where it counts and does drive the series forward if only by a small margin.

With a story that’s worth replaying, a cast of characters that are both fun and unique, and a skill/battle system that just begs to be used and abused, it’s easy to see why the original PS1 version is still heralded to this day.

You'll get a pretty solid singleplayer experience for your money, as well as the chance to experience that crazy "parkour" fad with the normal bone-breaking falls you would endure - but don't expect much beyond that.
