It has some good stages and good production values. Unfortunately, when for half the game the player is surly thinking, "Oh no! I'm on the ground again.", it does not speak well for the overall package.

While the main game in Super Mario 64 DS does seem a bit dated to be a launch title for the Nintendo DS, it is still a fun action/adventure that will satisfy the handful of people that have always wished they could have Super Mario 64 on a handheld.

Sadly, the bugs I encountered during the game (especially with the way the graphics engine started chugging so severely in the later levels) really hurt my experience, and the action just eventually ended up being reduced to using the same strategy over and over again.

For the golf aficionado, the play mechanics are going to feel a little dated and the experience is probably going to be less than satisfying. So, for PS2 owners that have had a case of "Mario Golf" envy, this is the game for you.

If you don't like the idea of having to buy parts and designing your own warship then this game might not be your cup of tea, but if you like the challenge of building the most powerful warship on the high sea to play through numerous diverse missions then this is definitely a game for you.

With cartoony controls, fast cars, and great multiplayer modes, Midtown Madness 3 is an excellent buy for any Xbox Live player. However, the game is not a shining beacon of single player goodness and racing game enthusiasts without Live support would be better off looking at other titles.

In fact, what it really reminds me of is the pure, unadulterated, simplistic fun of "Tanarus." And if you know what "Tanarus" is, you’ll know exactly what I mean, and if you don’t go back to watching "Spongebob."

While the controls and the inability to use the analog stick can be difficult, Bombastic is a solid puzzle game with a lot of different game modes and replay value for people who enjoy a challenge.

It plays, looks and controls well. It is almost surely never going to have a big following in the USA and I don't think many players will consider it great, but at $20 it definitely delivers your money's worth.

There are so many spoofs of classic martial arts characters and one-liners that I found myself laughing hysterically. Director Shao Ting seems to be filled with more stupid jokes then just about any character I've seen.

It's definitely the best translation of the traditional D&D game to the PC format. The incorporation of the D&D 3.5 Edition ruleset is great, and works a lot better that the severely lacking and awkward Ruins Of Myth Drannor, released earlier this year.

I don't know where all the hype came from, but Wreckless doesn't live up to it.

Rotastic is a good game that through a couple of poor choices limited its own potential. Its premise is simple but engaging and developer Dancing Dots builds effectively upon that premise throughout the first half of the game. Unfortunately, past that point, unforgiving level design combined with unwieldy controls make for a gaming experience that's ultimately So-So-tastic.

In the end this is a by the numbers shooter with slick graphics, and ample opportunity to shoot supercharged Nazis. It's not going to win any awards but it's worth checking out if you’re looking for a weekend to pass the time shooting everyone's favorite bad guys.

In the end Singularity is a decidedly average shooter with a pretty novel storyline.

Despite a few new twists to the core gameplay, its middling graphics and its lacking features drag it down from what could have been a must buy for fans of ancient era city builders to yet another game that fails to advance the genre in any real and meaningful way.

Really, it’s not a bad game, and is clearly targeted at the casual market and the younger generation, and considering that audience, it’s at the very least worth a rental.

Tony Hawk's Proving Ground is a game that is stuck in the rut of its predecessors.

Fallen Earth doesn’t exude the polish witnessed in recent MMOs. It’s barely adequate in terms of visuals, excruciating stretches of nothing are common, and I have never encountered so many bugs in a launch-product. And yet, it’s crawled beneath my skin.

Beatdown is a solid fighting themed action role-playing game brought down a notch by too much area transition loading and some limited promised features (like the ability to interrogate every character in the game).

Yuke's has done a decent job of improving the GameCube franchise, but it is still playing catch-up with the "SmackDown" series.

Unfortunately, with the issues the game has in its short singleplayer campaign and the lack of originality in the multiplayer, Medal of Honor is a decent enough shooter and reboot of the franchise, but isn't the blockbuster that EA was aiming to deliver.

With an increase in the level cap and a lot of new high-end content, Kingdom of Sky is a necessity for any hardcore EQII gamer who is encroaching upon level 60.

Given the game's low price point and the extras that Meridan4 has released in support of the game like the level editor, there's no reason not to pick this game up.

Fans of simulation racers are going to crap a brick when they see this game: the physics are incredibly implausible. Arcade-racing fans will be more forgiving.

While the game is impressive in many ways, it ultimately comes up a little short.

Despite its uneven difficulty, Fracture excels in innovating with its dynamic terrain deforming combat.

There is certainly a level of monotony here and the level design runs from clever to painfully linear and stale, but I got exactly what I wanted out of Hunted. I didn't expect a game of the year candidate but I desired, and received an old school hack and slash adventure where I could play with a friend and discuss the proper way to handle a battle situation. If you felt burned by the recent release of Daggerdale and want a better rpg combat alternative, you could do much worse then Hunted: The Demon's Forge.

DDR SuperNOVA is the most solid iteration in the series to date, and with all the new modes, tunes, EyeToy support and improved graphics, it's a must buy for hardcore fans of this series as well as new players looking to give the game a run for the money.

Patient newcomers will likely have a good time, warts and all, but if you already have the Xbox 360 version Sigma 2 doesn’t really add enough to the experience to warrant a second purchase.

The game may not win any awards for length, or variety, but the game play it does offer is lots of fun, well acted and presented with a high level of quality.

The excellent platforming still remains, but this Prince seems to have lost a little of himself in coming back to his roots.

As a whole Revenge of the Fallen is a solid package. Though the melee combat is practically counterproductive and the odd accidental transforms will nag at you here and there ultimately the game delivers an entertaining go of things.

It does a fabulous job of translating the Harry Potter universe into the LEGO vernacular, with all the frolicsome fun that implies; however, by implementing too many kinds of interactive prompt and by failing to provide enough player feedback, it sets the stage for an interactive experience that's equal parts fun and befuddlement.

Project Sylpheed is trying to do a bit more than it is capable of – not only due to the occasional graphical slowdown, but also because the gameplay is a bit repetitive and parts of the campaign feel a little rushed or misplaced.

It lacks pace, but makes up for it with skills and basic soccer strategy. What it lacks is teams and depth in its gameplay modes.

What I like best about this entire game is the music. It is perfect for this game, as recent artists like Death Cab for Cutie, Cake, and the Flaming Lips, remix and redo old songs. Oranger redid the song called Mr. Sandman, and with the punk rock style, makes it seems like an instant classic all over again.

Onimusha definitely has what it takes to be a fun game, but I think the developers dropped the ball in a couple of areas - especially with the absence of any kind of multiplayer, and the lack of graphical enhancements.

If you don't care about the quality of the covers, then you'll get more out of the game, but even the most serious of audiophiles will find some fun rocking their way to headliner status.

Viva Media's first release in the series is a good value and will certainly get you started on the path to adventure, but for those wanting to start off slow you can also buy and download each episode separately directly from Private Moon. Either way, the first chapters in this 14 episode adventure series are pretty solid and entertaining.

Traveller's Tales have sure struck a gold mine with the LEGO series. Their earlier block-themed games have been charmingly cute and amusing, and Harry Potter is no exception. You can't blame them for sticking to a winning formula, as Potter and LEGO fans will likely flock to play this game.

It's a straightforward, classic sidescroller that anyone can pick up and start playing immediately.

If EA Sports wants Fight Night to capture the attention of boxing fans, it needs to dramatically improve the single player game. Online play only goes so far.

Having hopes of a grandiose, multifaceted sci-fi adventure will leave you extremely disappointed in Earth Defense Force 2017. If you embrace its narrowly-focused action gameplay you’ll have a blast saving the planet one dead alien at a time.

Moments of blissfully smooth combat are followed by awkward bouts of running away. Just when you start to get bored by doing the same "go slurp us that scientist" mission for the fifth time, it throws you a curve ball. Which means that anyone who thought the original fell short, or was dull, or got trumped by inFamous, Hulk, or any number of Spider-Man games, is not going to be swayed by this. But for those who enjoyed the original, this sequel does not disappoint.

One thing is for sure though: If you’re a fan of Mercenaries, and can tolerate archaic matchmaking, Versus is worth every cent.

If you consider yourself a sim aficionado and caring for different types of animals makes you all warm and fuzzy inside, this is something you might want to try your hand at. Unfortunately, some people may find the slow pace a little too slow and at times downright boring.

Throw in the hilarity that is a constant throughout the entire game and God Hand is a game that will keep you entertained for a long while.

The length is quite satisfactory, the inclusion of co-op play is a very good bonus, and I just found this to be a really fun RPG romp all around – which, ultimately, is the most important thing.

Guitar Hero: World Tour is Activision’s answer to Rock Band, and while adding drums, bass, and vocals was necessary to keep up with the Joneses, a whole host of new problems are introduced with their inclusion.

The minigames, which could have filled out the shortcomings of its multiplayer and single player components, were a major let down.

Final Fantasy – Crystal Chronicles: Ring of Fates is a great game if you plan on purchasing it with the intent on playing it primarily with other people.

Because of the relative simplicity of the puzzles, the game plays more like an interactive movie or novel than it does a true game, but its story is so compelling that you may not mind too much.

I've mentioned adventure style gameplay but truthfully there is not a lot of it going on in Folklore.

Sports Mix is tailor-made for parties and other casual multiplayer experiences. The controls are easy to learn, the mechanics of each game are immediately familiar to anyone who's ever heard of the four sports on offer, and the interface is friendly as can be.

UBO makes for a great Hot Stove League game and I’m looking forward to playing it all winter long.

While the dark spooky woods environment can get a little tedious - as can the combat, the story telling is compelling enough to keep you moving forward and just when you finally think you know what is going on, the game will turn it upside down, flip you the bird, and have you rethinking everything all over again - right up until the credits roll.

For all its flaws, Heavenly Sword is still somewhat satisfying. Perhaps its short length (just ten hours or so) keeps the button-mashing from becoming overwhelmingly repetitious. Perhaps Nariko’s sexily smoky voice and gorgeous hair is just distracting enough to take your mind off the annoying camera?

While the game is a fast and furious stylized shooter, one of the biggest faults the title has is with how muddy the controls feel.

There’s just not a lot of “wow” here and it feels like a Vectrex game: it’s the same gameplay as any other on-rails FPS, but you’ve just changed the overlay on the screen to a Western.

If you're a fan of mindless violence and are willing to be satisfied just pulling a trigger on some very neat technology, Resistance 3 could tickle your fancy. With stunning visuals that once again push the Playstation 3 to its edge, there's plenty to be satisfied if you're looking for a Bruckheimer-esque production. Walk in looking for anything else though and you'll find a six to seven hour campaign that fails to spark anything more than basal satisfaction throughout.

In the end, it’s easy to see that 2K Sports is getting ever so close to producing an elite level, top quality baseball game. But there’s still an ample amount of work to do – and not just in the department of adding new features to the marketing list.

It is a fun game, and by jingo when it's at its best it's totally the updated Choplifter that I wanted to play.

Kane’s Wrath on the 360 isn’t quite a delight, but it’s not a disaster either. The very simple C&C economy is suited to the platform, and since the game is all about beating the stuffing out of other things, there isn’t a lot of tactical nuance to worry about.
