Be it the masterful design of the semi-open game world divided into 13 dye biomes, the continuous introduction of new hero abilities, the thrilling duels with a huge range of enemy types, the challenging puzzles and boss fights, the scope, which is more extensive than many others genre representatives or the variety of accessibility functions - Ubisoft Montpellier undoubtedly delivers one of its best games in recent years! There are minor points of criticism, but in our opinion they are primarily limited to difficulty peaks in some boss fights and the fact that the story doesn't quite as emotionally engage us as that of Hollow Knight or Ori and the Blind Forest, for example.- GAMES.CH

Gangs of Sherwood is the definition of a one-trick pony. Its colorful and entertaining battles weaving the abilities and attacks of up to 4 players together are not just unique but also very fun to play. Sadly anything outside of combat fails to really leave much of an impression. The setting in a science-fantasy version of Nottingham definitely had potential, but little of it actually was used effectively. Instead the final product hides its most fun parts behind a wall of generic mediocrity. Those willing to stick with the game and bringing friends along will still have a wonderful time despite obvious flaws.- GAMES.CH

Going through the procedurally generated levels, blasting away enemies and picking up items only to lose them again in typical rogue-like fashion doesn't get old with this 2023 iteration of Downwell on Apple Arcade.- GAMES.CH

The iOS port of this PS2 classic is well done and also includes some features from later games. Even after so many years, Hitman: Blood Money is still a game absolutely well-worth experiencing if you haven't yet.- GAMES.CH

Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince offers a mixed gaming experience. As someone who likes to collect monsters the breeding system caught my attention and it’s fun to catch and collect all the different monsters. However, the game falls short in terms of narrative depth, sporting outdated graphics and encountering performance issues. So I only recommend it to fans of the series and hope they improve their character writing and the overall game performance for the next title.- GAMES.CH

Lego Bricktales and VR are a perfect match. In virtual reality, the brick constructions seem almost tangible. It's simply fun to look at the detailed dioramas from different angles - especially in the Quest 3's passthrough mode, which places the game in your living room.- GAMES.CH

Few fictional universes are as dense and impenetrable as that of Warhammer 40k. Owlcat Games (previously known for Pathfinder: Kingmaker and Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous have managed to create a gripping story of the darkness that lurks in man, accentuated by stellar writing and a combat system that masterfully increases in depth as the game goes on. Despite some bugs and technical issues, this easily counts among the very best delves into the grim darkness of the 41st Millennium.- GAMES.CH

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is a nice open world action game. But beside the great and detailed graphics there is nothing worse or better than solid. That might be enough, if you love the movies, but it's not enough to make Ubisoft's Avatar game a need to buy for action fans in general.- GAMES.CH

Assassin’s Creed Nexus introduces a groundbreaking Virtual Reality (VR) experience to the iconic gaming franchise. The game maintains the essence of the series by integrating familiar characters and the Animus simulation. The innovative VR mechanics offer an immersive blend of climbing, running, and combat, providing players with a unique and entertaining adventure. While calibration issues and occasional glitches may pose challenges, the game’s successful combination of realistic movements and engaging gameplay ultimately makes it a compelling addition to the Assassin’s Creed legacy.- GAMES.CH

The sequel remains true to its predecessor and takes the franchise to a new level. Strong graphics and superb weapon control are the biggest plus points. On the other hand, the level of difficulty is low and the artificial intelligence is average at best. Simple light hearted fun and suited best for casual mature PSVR2-users- GAMES.CH

Astral Ascent is stunningly beautiful: The smoothly animated characters dance their lightning-fast combat ballet in front of filigree landscapes that shine in bright, fresh colors. Particularly motivating are the many ways that you can equip and upgrade those characters.- GAMES.CH

Last Train Home tells a gritty and emotional story of Czechoslovakian legionnaires trying to reach their distant home after the conclusion of World War I. As foreign armed forces in a now war-torn Russia, players not only have to manage scarce resources, but also their allegiances. While the core elements of RTS gameplay and survival management sim work well together, a large part of your enjoyment will depend on the balance of those two. For large stretches of gameplay, Last Train Home isn’t an RTS with management sim elements, but a Surival Management game with occasional RTS missions.- GAMES.CH

Gothic 2 Complete Classic finally brings a great action RPG on Switch. You can see that the original is from 2002/2003, but beside the aged technology even the presentation is still an important contribute to an intensive atmosphere. The Switch port is a good chance for fans to experience this real classic again. Series newcomers should be aware of a relatively high difficulty level and a lack of modern comfort functions.- GAMES.CH

With the so called Premium Edition of Farming Simulator 22 players gain the complete package with any DLC that has been released since the launch of the main game in November 2021. There is a lot of stuff in it you can easily expand with quiet a lot mods even on consoles. But the weak points stay the same especially concerning the partly bad player guidance or the poor physics engine. A good farming simulation, but still not a perfect one.- GAMES.CH

While inevitably overshadowed by its big brother, Persona 5 Tactica definitely has its own legs to stand on. The accessible, yet engaging combat system, a new story with its own twists and turns, as well as the excellent art style make this an easy game to pick up and play. What it lacks however, is anything truly outstanding. While competent at all aspects of the game, nothing stands out as particularly new or captivating, dooming this to remain forever trapped a shadow in the metaverse that is Persona 5.- GAMES.CH

In some ways the developers could have been more courageous concerning innovations, because beside graphics and new arranged score there is not much really new stuff. But playing it safe is fine, because with that Super Mario RPG is a beautiful looking role playing game with a great mixture of round based combat and action elements.- GAMES.CH

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. The concept of open combat areas in particular sounded promising. Unfortunately have to say that our expectations were clearly too high. And while the new Zombies mode is a mixed bag, versus-multiplayer remains good fun - thanks to small but wise gameplay changes and lots of content and modes. However, if you were hoping for fewer remake-maps and a wealth of new combat scenarios, you should look elsewhere.- GAMES.CH

Vampire: The Masquerade is an ambitious game from an indie development studio. The result is solid and it entertains well throughout its eight-hour runtime. First and foremost, the game world is superb. On the other hand the stealth sequences disappoint with rather fiddly controls. We sincerely hope that a patch will fix these issues.- GAMES.CH

Fans will feel right at home. The Walking Dead Saint and Sinners: Chapter 2:Retribution takes the successful formula and enriches the gameplay with neat additions like night missions and new weapons. Jagged Alliance 3 is a masterful blend of different genres. At the surface level it’s a tactical shooter with some heavy simulation elements, but it expands during the lengthy campaign into deep strategic elements, managing multiple troops of soldiers and deepening your bond to those colorful and satirized mercenaries with surprisingly well-crafted and deep roleplay elements as well. The lack of hand-holding or in-depth tutorials may add to the struggle for survival for some, but also adds a steep learning curve and hefty barrier of entry to an otherwise extraordinary game.- GAMES.CH
