For classic gaming fans who were there when these titles were new or for retro fans who respect the roots of the industry, the latest edition of Namco Museum is a great budget title to pick up.

The sound is terrible, background art is mostly horrendous, and the single-player mode is absolutely worthless, as even on its highest difficulty it’s extremely easy to beat.

All of the elements of the game are pretty sound, but it occupies a strange place in the sport... too exagerrated for sim fans and not exegerated enough for some arcade fans.

The ability to use both the gun and sword (other weapons as well, later on) gives the game a fantastic mount of variety that could have made it the best Mega Man game to date, but time and again this freedom is overshadowed by the shackles of restrictive design that was intended to make the game harder, but ends up sucking the fun out of things.

Essentially a good game hampered by some careless oversights. Some levels will force players to endure countless deaths (falling into bottomless pits), the camera system is archaic and some bosses are cheap as hell.

The extras included in Mega Collection could have been spiffier, but they're interesting enough and round out the package well.

Sonic and Shadow's levels are great, but every one else's levels are, unfortunately, dull. In the end, 1/3rd of the main game is great but hampered by camera and some control issues.

The clean anime-ish graphics make the tennis action itself easy to keep track of and the audio portion of the game was paid a surprising amount of attention by the developers.
