Super Mario Run looks and feels like a solid 2D Mario game, but it offers a new way of taking control of Mario. At first it is frustrating, but eventually the game offers surprisingly deep gameplay.- Gamer.nl

That Need for Speed Shift was going to be more of a simulation wasn't a big surprise when Slightly Mad Studios got the job. It is however a surprise that the game ended up being this good. Thanks to the cockpit-view, the sense of speed and the eye for detail, Shift takes the Need for Speed-series back to the top.- Gamer.nl

PixelJunk Eden is without a doubt a creative expression that let's you play like you've never played before. As a Grimp, your sole task is to furtalise a garden. But you have to believe us when we tell you that the game plays way better than it sounds. And with a very cheap pricetag it's easily worth the money.- Gamer.nl

Everything that was good about Mortal Kombat, is still there. The game offers a very entertaining fighting system for newbies and more competitive players, plus a fair amount of single-player content, new characters, great online modes and of course bloody, gory violence.- Gamer.nl

Dice took everything we loved from Battlefield and added more action packed gameplay. Battlefield 1943 offers a great multiplayer experience and total destruction, but tends to get repetitive because of a lack of modes.- Gamer.nl

Thumper is intense, killing and a nightmare, but when it ends you want to do it all over again. There is not a lot of variety when it comes to action, but the gameplay keeps things interesting.- Gamer.nl

Saint's Row isn't a very original game. It's a tweaked version of the previous game that offers a lot of fun, especially with a friend in the coöperative mode. Everyone who missed the useless violence in GTAIV will be very satisfied with Saint's Row 2, since that game basically is about just that.- Gamer.nl

A House Divided has the player making hard choices that greatly influence the story. Clementine is calling the shots in this episode, which feels good but also was a necessity for the dynamics in the series. The great balance between action and storytelling brings the series back up to its trusted and solid quality level.- Gamer.nl

Frostpunk 2 is a very atmospheric and deep strategy game. Choices are meaningful and the constant time pressure makes it feel like everything can go terribly wrong at any moment. Sometimes the game is a bit heavy-handed because of that. It could have used some humor to contrast all the icy misery. The risk of too much simulated suffering is that the toughest decisions sometimes leave you cold on a personal level. Because the end almost always justifies the means. This makes Frostpunk 2 one of those unique games where you can never really be the ‘good guy’, only ‘less bad’. And that makes for a valuable and well-made experience.- Gamer.nl

Zombies is great this year as usual. The single player is very entertaining, although some missions are a bit boring towards the end. The multiplayer is polarizing. Known problems (spawns, bullet registration) have not been addressed. Although the new way of moving allows for very spectacular actions, the high pace also ensures a high entry threshold. Black Ops 6 is a good Call of Duty as a total package, but will not convince dropped out players. Black Ops 6 is too safe for that - even for a Call of Duty.- Gamer.nl

Battlefield 5 offers a lot of the same things like Battlefield 4, but then in an even more complete war experience. Grand Ops is nice, though we do miss the battle royale mode that is promised to arrive later.- Gamer.nl

The PC version of Burnout Paradise has the word Ultimate in its title for a reason. When developer Criterion made The Ultimate Box, they put every update and patch that appeared since the release on the console into this game. By doing so, they made Burnout Paradise the perfect game for everyone who wants to race without a hassle. If one of your hobbies is to cruise in your car on a regular basis and if you aren't bothered by an undemanding difficulty level and then you will have no problem liking this game.- Gamer.nl

Don’t be misled by the childish appearance of The Wonderful 101. This game fits perfectly in the series of (adult) games made by Platinum Games: extremely challenging, purely build on gameplay and unique. The game might not be as perfect as the other games that spawn from the Japanese studio, but The Wonderful 101 manages to pull it off thanks to its unique personality and gameplay.- Gamer.nl

Skate 3 is the best skateboarding game out there. It's certainly no revolution, but due to its strong gameplay and some great additions we will be impressed if Shaun White and Tony Hawk will reach this standard.- Gamer.nl

F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin has no problem following in the footsteps of it's predecessor. Monolith obviously has chosen action before fear in part two but still manages to find the perfect balance between them both. On the outside the game lost some of it's powers and the attempt to put in some new gameplay elements doesn't always work. But in the end, the game is frighteningly good.- Gamer.nl

Napoleon is a fantastic addition to the Total War-franchise. The realism remains at the top of the genre, the new campaign is engaging and the new additions are very welcome. The only real problem is that the AI sometimes lacks.- Gamer.nl

Splatoon 2 does not differ much from the first game, but its strong gameplay is very entertaining in multiplayer. Matchmaking and the party system are a bit of a let-down, but other than that, this is a must-have for Switch.- Gamer.nl

IL2 Sturmovik: Birds of Prey succeeds at bringing a flightsim to the consoles. The game delivers a few things that console gamers haven't had for years, but at the same time takes its place between the less-realistic alternatives on the consoles. If you can look past the minor flaws, Birds of Prey is recommended for the serious flightsim-enthusiast.- Gamer.nl

Technobabylon is a lovely throwback to the golden days of classic adventure games with Blade Runner elements. This game might seem very science fiction, but when you look around you on an average train trip, you will understand that this game might not even be that far off reality.- Gamer.nl

An excellent football game that even excels FIFA 10 in some ways. But in the end this is still a basic version of that game and together with a few rough edges it keeps the game from becoming truly fantastic.- Gamer.nl

Pokémon SoulSilver and HeartGold are good role playing games. Only the lack of originality will offend some players. In the end, these remakes are pretty much the best and most balanced Pokémon-games out there.- Gamer.nl

Torchlight is the ultimate rival for Diablo. The game doesn't introduce something new to the genre, but that's forgiven by the atmosphere it provides and the Blizzard-like level of polish. Thanks to its small price tag and the addictive nature of the game, it comes highly recommended for everyone.- Gamer.nl

This free-to-play 'build-your-own-game'-game is pretty straight forward. The public beta is almost identical to the end product. There are already some amazing home build games to play, but if you want to build your own levels, you will probably be spending some money.- Gamer.nl

Black Ops 2 is a good and complete Call of Duty-game. The Zombie-mode is once again very entertaining and the single player the best yet thanks to the moral choices it presents players with. The multiplayer still plays the same way after all these years, which makes sense, but is slightly disappointing for those who hoped that the new setting and structure would've caused it to change. All of the modes are a lot of fun though, but to enjoy it you'll have to bite through pretty outdated graphics.- Gamer.nl

Every gamer that's looking for a strategic RPG with decent gameplay mechanics, a well designed environment and with enough items to fill an entire dungeon, will have a blast with King's Bounty: The Legend. The game never stops surprising you with new gameplay elements and gives you total freedom. In production terms King's Bounty doesn't offer the same as triple A titles do, but don't let this stop you from buying this 'undercover classic'.- Gamer.nl

If you've got nothing going on with Metallica then it seems a little illogical to buy this game. But you'll probably buy it anyway if you're a Guitar Hero or Rockband fan. The game deserves that much attention. Especially Guitar Hero veterans will love the rocky numbers that are enclosed in this package. On the other hand, the little flaws and the inferior career-mode (in comparison to Rock Band) can be too much of a problem for the casual rocker.- Gamer.nl

To get the most out of Chaos Rising you should also have Dawn of War II. Still, the improved campaign, new maps and addition of the Chaos Space Marines to the multiplayer won’t disappoint both new and existing players.- Gamer.nl
