In direct competition with Professional Villians' latest game, Security: The Horrible Night pales in comparison. Still, it's a unique gaming experience not to be missed by horror fans, and at a low, low price of just €5 on Steam, it's practically a bargain.

Thronefall is a truly lovely and delightful indie that excels by offering a streamlined, intuitive, and thrilling tower defence formula. The various challenges and gameplay modifiers mean that there is tons of content to unpack and enjoy and the art direction and strategic range ensure that Thronefall never disappoints.

Runny Bunny is the essence of simplicity in game form. It lacks some finesse and visual presentation to make it really fun to pick up for a few long moments. At the same time, it's certainly not boring when you do.

The Accolade Sports Collection is a strange collection. There are far too few games, with at least one that is completely unnecessary, and there's plenty of room for many others to have been included. None of the games have aged particularly well, and the controls feel ancient for the most part.

The narrative twists and turns in many directions, and while our unfortunate protagonist might experience some brushes along the way, it's hugely rewarding to find new paths and untangle the whole mess. Unfortunately, this structure does allow for some bugs to creep in, and I had a number of instances of characters getting shocked by what they already knew or reacting to objects that were no longer present. However, these are nothing more than blemishes, and Inkle has crafted yet another game that raises the bar for interactive fiction.

It's clear that the developers have put time and passion into creating a cosy adventure that doesn't hold your hand too much, and that puts a lot of emphasis on providing a tranquil environment to relax in. In other words, there is potential, and if you like games like Harvest Moon, Animal Crossing, Stardew Valley and Graveyard Keeper, it might be worth checking out One Lonely Outpost.

MLB The Show has the foundation to be a great sports series. It's almost always been great on the field, but it's been quiet otherwise for quite a few years. However, the game's 20th anniversary with MLB The Show 25 brings it forward again, yet unfortunately, the Franchise mode still gets no love, but improvements in the other game modes along with the fantastic baseball feel make this the best game in the series in many years, and maybe even ever.

Into the Dead: Our Darkest Days is a fantastic foundation for PikPok to build on, and while the current loop became monotonous for me, especially without a narrative framework to refer to other than the stories I created myself, I respect it immensely. [Early Access Score = 70]

Unidentifiable and boring, that's Football Heroes League in a nutshell and I hope Run Games can stir the pot and fix the game before it's released, but to be honest I don't think it's possible without throwing everything in the bin and starting from scratch. [Early Access Review Score = 20]

My patience has been tested more than in any game in a very long time, and my simple advice is to avoid this game as much as possible. If you want a post-apocalyptic isometric perspective and world to explore, I would rather recommend Interplay's Fallout games, which did this much better back in the 90s.

Eight years after its original release, Little Nightmares still holds up. The updated visuals just make it even better, and the beautiful lighting, dark shadows, and dramatic camera angles further highlight how excellently the visuals are designed. It's beautiful, freaky, and a little scary at the same time.

Wheel World is an easy to pick up and enjoyable experience that doesn't require much investment from the player, despite having a fabulous balance of fun gameplay, memorable visuals, and customisable features. Grounded 2 strikes me as a very traditional survival game in practice, even if the intuitive design and the enjoyable and memorable world stand out as highlights. Apart from minor annoyances, A Dream About Parking Lots is a nice little walking sim. In many ways, it's more of a therapeutic experience than a game, and considering what these kinds of games usually cost, the £3.39 you have to pay for it is nothing.

DC Worlds Collide is a game that does some things right for fans of the DC universe and the gacha genre. It offers a reasonably fun and addictive collecting experience, with a wide range of well-known characters and automated battles that make it accessible to casual players. At the same time, the game has some obvious flaws. The childish graphics, lack of voice acting, automated battle mechanics, and sometimes frustrating monetisation model prevent the game from truly reaching the top tier.

Hide the Corpse is something different. A quirky puzzle game that dares to be weird and embraces its macabre sense of humour. The simple but clever concept holds up for several hours of fun, even if the nausea creeps in. The overall package feels a bit half-baked, repeating itself too often, but with a little polish, this indie oddity could evolve into something much bigger. There's plenty of potential in corpse-hiding chaos.

My play sessions, which have lasted roughly twenty or thirty minutes at a time, have all ended with me realising that I'm not having much fun in the end. It's a bit too simple and quickly becomes mostly repetitive. So even if the content that is available still works and each short dose offers a game session where reflexes and patience are properly tested - everything falls into oblivion the second I switch off.

Considering it's an early access game, it's actually one of the most polished games I've played in a long time. It's super cosy and deep, so the fact that it's only in early access is pretty impressive. I can't imagine what it will be when it hits version 1.0. If you're into real manual labour in an age where everything needs to be automated, try Tavern Keeper.

Drywall Eating Simulator is a game that talks about the present without understanding it. It's not subversive, not provocative and definitely not funny - just tiresome. So by all means, stay as far away as you can from Drywall Eating Simulator, don't even get it for free. Spend what little time you have on this earth on something more sensible.

Taxi Chaos 2 lacks (apart from the obvious lack of speed and a fun open city to hang out in) charm and attitude. Everything feels flat on all levels, and the mere fact that there isn't a killer soundtrack is one of many ingredients that reveal a lot about how limited the production probably was.

There is plenty to play in Cassette Boy, although, as mentioned above, it involves a lot of searching and endless trial and error. "Cosy gaming" is a genre defined by a calm, cosy and relaxing atmosphere. These attributes can certainly be applied to Roach Post. It is cute, very peaceful and has a cartoon style that is both cheerful and pleasant. It is simply what it is - nothing advanced and nothing that will make your jaw drop in amazement. But as a mental palate cleanser? It fits perfectly.

There is a saying that "it's the journey and not the destination that counts," and those are words I have always lived by. But what do you do when the journey is sadly boring and all you want is to reach the destination? I'm not really sure which target audience will appreciate this game. It's for ages three and up, and maybe a very small child would enjoy flying a parrot on an uneventful adventure with no point whatsoever, but what do I know? But I need something more and, above all, something meaningful.

These are games that stand the test of time, which wouldn't have benefited from more polygons, and which have been well revamped with higher resolution where appropriate (such as in battles and on the maps). If you're looking for classic Mega Man action, this is definitely not for you, but if you want a typically cosy Japanese "happy-go-lucky" adventure with a deep gameplay system, then it's really easy to recommend this lovely collection.

If you choose to take on Elemental: Reforged, you'll get a competent 4X game with slightly dated graphics and not the most knowledgeable of AI opponents. Thanks to the fact that you do so much else during the course of the game, it rarely gets boring. Although this title is the best in its series, I think certain competitors like Age of Wonders 4 offer sharper experiences today.

Arcadia Fallen II has pleasantly surprised me. I could easily see myself going back to play the first game just to get the full story. If you're a fan of visual novels, this is a really good choice with a strong story, good characters and solid dialogue. It's a quiet game. A game you play over a hot cup of coffee. Or tea with a little bit of honey in it.

When it stumbles, it falls flat on its face, but when Masters of Albion succeeds, it reminds you why Molyneux is still in the business after all this time. It has a quality to it that lets you overlook a lot of its most glaring flaws, a sense of humour that reminds you of your first time playing Fable, and a unique, ambitious approach to a genre we don't see enough of these days (aside from the other recently released god game Sintopia). Masters of Albion is not a triumph. It won't knock Fable down to become Molyneux's new legacy-defining game, but it certainly leaves its impression. [Early Access Score = 60

Gorn 2's virtual brawling is entertaining time-killing fun, whose strengths lie in its consistently high-quality execution and silly premise. The story provides a suitable reason to fight and the game also offers the chance to take on various challenge battles outside the main story. Although you end up facing the same enemies a bit too often and the damage can be a bit too sensitive, Gorn 2 has taken the potential of the first game to the next level and made whacking its rubber foes even more fun.

In short, Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era is practically everything I could have asked for in a new game in the series: an experience familiar enough with the past to connect with my fondest childhood memories of keyboard and mouse, whilst adding new features such as factions and game subsystems to make me think and immerse myself fully in its universe and gameplay. It's a new era for strategy, and I'm delighted to be back on this path.

    ZPF
ZPF is definitely a shoot 'em up worth taking a closer look at. Technically speaking, it's very impressive, and had it been released on the Mega Drive during the console's heyday, we'd probably have mentioned it in the same breath as classics like Galenancer, Thunder Force and Truxton. It gets most things right and really only falls short in that there is sometimes a bit too much happening on screen at once, and that the game's wildly varied environments don't quite give it a sense of cohesion. But with its satisfying upgrade system and a highly customisable difficulty level, it's a must-have for any shoot 'em up fanatic's collection.

Far Far West is an easy-to-recommend game that has the potential to be a must buy if you're into PvE co-op experiences. Its gunplay requires a good dose of skill, but you can balance your lack of a solid trigger finger with luck thanks to the Joker cards you can pick up during a run. Its design oozes personality, and while I'd love to see more of it shine in more NPC quests scattered in a map, they can come in time.” [Early Access Score = 80]

The oceans are eerie, and I don't think Subnautica 2 has lost what made its predecessors unique and great. You should be aware, however, that you get very little of the story - more of a starter than a main course and dessert. It's this limited content and technical issues that mean I cannot justify a higher rating. However, I am extremely optimistic about this project and hope to revisit the game once it is released in its full version. [Early Access Score = 80]
